Apollo, 2nd Cradle

Today, I found a new house just east of town hall. That’s a spot that’s rarely occupied, and I can’t even remember the last villager to live there. Inside, I found Apollo the eagle! Pretty cool!

Apollo: My name's Apollo. If the boex didn't give it away, I just moved into town today.
Welcome to Forest, Apollo! It’s showtime!

Chip was hosting a fishing tournament, and it was for sea bass only. But Rosie apparently didn’t know where to find sea bass? Come on now, how could she not know that at this point? 😛

Rosie: Can't we even get, like, a hint or something?! Where am I supposed to find a sea bass?!

Meanwhile, Big Top was determined to win the tourney. He said he was going for the gold. However, that’s not really accurate. The prize for winning these one-fish-only tournaments is a silver trophy, not gold.

Big Top: I'm going for the gold, so I can't waste any time waiting for you!

I caught one sea bass and took it over to Chip. It measured 44.5 inches, which topped the previous record (Cube’s 39.1-incher).

Chip: Ah, it's...a 44.5-incher.

I was very surprised by what Chip gave me, because it’s the same thing he gave me last month: a cradle! Does he think I’m expecting twins? 😆

Chip: And of course, the prize... A cradle! Yes! All for you!

I played again tonight, and Chip confirmed my fishing tournament win. As expected, he sent me a silver trophy in the mail.

I made my way over to the Roost and asked K.K. Slider for a random song. He performed “K.K. Bossa” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Bossa.

Earlier in the week, I posted my latest ACCF video, City Folk Moments #33. I hope you’ll check it out if you haven’t seen it yet!

Games with Big Top

I received Static’s goodbye letter in the mail today. I knew it was coming, but it’s still a bit of a bummer to be reminded of my loss after starting up the game.

Jeff, It's been a blast, pal, but I've made up my mind and I'm moving far away. I've always been a drifter at heart: I'm going wherever the wind takes me. -Static

After making my rounds, I later went over to the Roost for K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. He performed “K.K. Folk” for me, and I actually enjoyed it. I particularly like the double howl he does at several points in the song. 😆

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Folk.

Over by the river after the show, Big Top told me that he lost some weight. Congrats, Big Top! Or should I say Medium Top? 😛

Big Top: Guess what! Um...I...lost some weight!

He asked me to play hide-and-seek with him, and I was game! He gave me ten minutes to find him, Scoot, and Tiffany. But it only took me a matter of seconds to find Scoot and Tiffany, who were both very close to the starting point! Big Top took me a bit longer to find, but that was just because he was in a different part of town. It had nothing to do with his hiding spot, at all.

Big Top tries to hide behind a sign post.

Big Top rewarded me with a mini sputnoid for winning the game. He seemed to enjoy the game even though he didn’t win, saying hide-and-seek is more fun than sit-and-eat. If that’s how he feels, then I guess that explains how he lost some weight!

Big Top: Hide-and-seek is even more fun than sit-and-eat!

Not much else was going on in Forest today, so I just sold some fruit and wrapped up my game for the night. But we have just three weeks until sharks return!

I hope you’re all having a good weekend! See you next time!

Static’s 2nd Stint Cut Short

Tonight, Scoot told me that he’s planning to have an all-nighter party. He said it’s going to start with an hour of knitting sweaters, and then we’ll go right into some power lifting.

Scoot: Kickin' off with an hour of knitting sweaters, then an hour of power lifting. It's gonna be H-core!
That sounds sew random.

Over at the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song. He performed “K.K. Soul” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Soul.

After the show, I went in to visit Static and I saw something I did not want to see. He is packed up and moving out of town! 🙁

Static: See, this whole moving thing came up so fast I didn't think I'd have time to say good-bye to folks.
I guess he just had to bolt. ⚡

It was great having him back in town these past couple months, but it hurts to see Static’s second stint cut so short. I guess I can’t complain too much when I still have him on GameCube and in New Horizons, but I really liked having him here too. So long, old buddy!

Sydney asked me to deliver a gift to Rosie, and I agreed to help out. The present was a tin shirt, and Rosie didn’t seem very thrilled about it. But still, she did put it on.

Rosie: And now, to try it on! Um...privacy please!

When I returned to Sydney to tell her the delivery was done, she rewarded me with a ranch wall.

Before wrapping up my game for the night, I gave Scoot a new catchphrase: “So scoot.” We’ll see if he uses it in any interesting ways in the coming weeks.

See you next time!
