Christmas Eve

It’s Christmas Eve, the night that Jingle comes to town. I found the black-nosed reindeer on this snowy night and asked him for something huge. He gave me a piece of Jingle furniture.

Jingle: It's like, you know, who doesn't like HUGE stuff? The object of this holiday is to keep finding Jingle over and over to get as much Jingle furniture as you want. But there’s a trick to it: You have to keep changing your hat or accessory to make him think you’re a different person each time. City Folk differs from other Animal Crossing games in that Jingle can hide inside animals’ homes (the houses with no lights turned on).

Jingle, inside a villager's house: Ah! I've been spotted...So I kept an eye out for Jingle, but I talked with some of my villagers as well. Octavian was a bit confused by the greetings and didn’t know what to say. Say “Merry Christmas,” Octavian.

Octavian: Hey there, my liege! Merry-- No, wait... Happy-- How does it go?When I talked to Lily, she said the countdown was on. At first I thought she was looking ahead to New Year’s, but that’s not the case. She was actually referring to the countdown to open presents.

Lily: The countdown is on... The countdown to presents, that is!!After finding Jingle four times tonight, he gave me two Jingle dressers, a Jingle sofa, and Jingle shelves.

My large festive tree (Christmas tree) and four pieces of Jingle furniture in my house.I sold the four furniture pieces for a total of 48,960 bells. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

A Saturday Night Stroll

Last night, I went to check on my tiny snowman before he disappeared. He was confident he was going to live a long, fulfilling life. I didn’t have the heart to tell him he’d be dead in a few hours.

Tiny Snowman: I'll never be the best-looking guy on the block, but I can still lead a long and fulfilling life. Then tonight, I took a late-night stroll around town to water my flowers. I saw Rowan across the river and waved at him. This is a feature that didn’t make it into New Leaf.

Waving to Rowan from across the river. Many of the animals in town were talking about Christmas. Elmer hasn’t decided what he wants yet, but he said he’s going to send the chubby dude (Santa, of course) a letter soon.

Elmer: Once I decide, my plan is to send a letter to the chubby dude and leave out some peach crisp for him. However, Octavian had something else on his mind; he asked me find a squid for him! I don’t know if he wanted a date, dinner, or a pet.

Octavian: Do you mind tossing a good squid my way, glub glub?An invisible Cookie, who was actually hiding behind a cliff, told me she was going to move out of town. I hardly ever talk to her anyway, so I didn’t try to stop her.

Cookie: I'm moving, arfer!Ribbot then asked me to make a delivery to Lily for him. The gift was a caveman tunic, which she didn’t seem thrilled with. Can’t say I blame her.

Lily: Oh, is that what I think it is? A caveman tunic?I returned to Ribbot and told him I made the delivery. He rewarded me with a pachira. I then went up to The Roost to hear K.K. perform a song. I let him choose the tune and he played K.K. Mambo for me. And with that, I wrapped up my night in Forest.

Sloppy Snowmen

Last night, I saw two snowballs so close that they already appeared to be touching.

Two small snowballs on the ground, nearly touching each other.I tried pushing them on top of each other just like that, but it wouldn’t let me. They were still too small to be used for snowmen, so I pushed them around a little bit before creating a small snowman. He wasn’t happy with his appearance.

Snowman: Huh. First time building a snowman? Yeah, I thought so. I mean, pretty good for an amateur...Then today, it was snowing in town. Ribbot was so excited that he started eating the snow. No, your stomach will rust!

Ribbot: SNOW! It's snowing! And it's delicious, no compute!I found two more snowballs while making my walk around town. I decided to try making a bigger snowman. And I did…but this one wasn’t happy with his appearance either. I think I made his head a tiny bit too small. Fail.

Huge snowman: I'll never be the best-looking guy on the block, but I can still lead a long and fulfilling life.I went in Lily’s house to say hello, and she told me how she used to worry all the time in her previous home. Maybe because of Del?

Lily: Before I moved here, I was seriously a nervous wreck. I would just worry and worry all the time...Octavian asked me to catch a red snapper for him, so I started fishing in the ocean. But before I could find a red snapper, I found something better: a coelacanth!

A coelacanth? After several trips back and forth along the shoreline, I eventually caught a red snapper. I took it to Octavian, and he rewarded me with a tartan rug.

Octavian: Wow, no fish stands a chance against you! Would you teach me your moves sometime, glub glub?
