New Year’s Shirt 2023

Today is New Year’s Day (Happy 2023!) and many of my villagers sent me New Year’s greetings in the mail. Boomer wondered if this was the year we get hoverbikes and jetpacks. 😛

To Jeff, It's finally the year 2023! Sweeeet! Is this the year we finally get hoverbikes and jetpacks?! I sure hope so! -Boomer

Just seconds after clearing out my mailbox, I got my first bit of good news of 2023: Curt wants to move out of town! He’s the one I wanted out most! Yay!

Curt: I've been starting to think maybe I've gotten a little too comfy here in Forest, ya know?

But the main reason I played today was to see Tortimer, and to get a gift from him.

Tortimer: But first, since it's the new year and all, I need to give you something.

He gave me the New Year’s shirt for 2023, which has a rabbit on front. (And 2023 on the back, of course.)

Cranky villagers do a little dance on New Year’s Day, which consists of a few emotions in a row. They call it the Dance of the Lonely _______, with the blank filled in by a random food. Since my town has lots of crankies, I saw quite a few variations of the dance today. 😆

Grizzly, Vladimir, Tom, and Hopper perform their lonely New Year's dances.

And Gaston asked if I was looking forward to 2023, if he shaved. 😛

Gaston: Hey, boss! Happy New Year, buddy! Looking forward to 2023, if I shave?

Happy new year, everyone! I’ll see you all next time. 🙂

  1. I always play City Folk on New Year’s Day just to get the shirt. This was the first time since September since I last played and last time, Curt moved out after 8 years. His replacement has not come yet. I am not a fan of the gray shirts.
