Last Sunday night, I again participated in the fireworks festival. I shot down this balloon present and the screenshot almost made it look like the firework popped the balloon. (Or maybe that’s a stretch, but I still thought it looked cool.)

During my session, I officially met my summer goal, earning 2.65 million since July 1st. Why such an odd number? Because the objective was to get my savings balance to 80 million bells, and I’ve now done that.

Of course, that hasn’t stopped my bug hunting. I continued to play this week, and I’m going to play this weekend as well.

On Tuesday night, Willow noticed a giant beetle in my pockets, and she said it made me look less handsome!

She was wanting to give me an upright piano for it, but I declined the trade offer.

Tonight, Cube asked me to catch an olive flounder for him.

Once I did, he rewarded me with 720 bells.

Iggly has been telling me he’s planning on moving out of town. I’ve told him to stay, but so far he hasn’t changed his mind. So he may or may not be gone by next week.

I went bug hunting for about 90 minutes tonight, and I earned over 300k. I’m planning on two more bug hunts, Sunday during fireworks, and then again on Monday night for the last hurrah. I’ll be back next week with my final bug hunting totals.

Last Sunday, I participated in the fireworks festival for the first time this year. Mayor Tortimer gave me a Roman candle, and I used it to give him a turtle wax. It’s an old, sacred tradition. 😆

Scoot was nearby, and he told me that he got some ash in his mouth! Maybe his mouth was hanging open in awe, and the ashes fell in. (Gotta catch ’em all!)

I also made sure to enjoy the fireworks in the sky. 🎆 I just didn’t leave my mouth hanging open. 😆

Felicity was still sick with a cold, so I gave her another dose of medicine.

I soon focused on catching bugs, and I continued even after the fireworks stopped. I made about 245,000 bells on the night, in a bit over an hour.

Tonight, Felicity sent me a letter to thank me for the medicine I’ve given her lately. She attached a deluxe range. Now we’re cooking!

Pecan was telling me that she’s careful not to eat food with additives. So she just eats fish that she catches fresh from the water.

I made my way around to the Roost, where I asked K.K. Slider for a random song. He performed “K.K. Fusion” for me.

Once I finished chatting with everyone, I did some more bug hunting. Interestingly, I didn’t spot any tarantulas, scorpions, or sharks tonight! But I did see just about everything else, including four or five scarab beetles. In total, I made about 215k in my 1+ hour session.

I’m now very close to my summer goal, and I should have no problem topping it. The only question is, by how much? There’s a bit over a week to go in August, and I’m hoping to have several more bug-hunting sessions before wrapping up summer.

I went on a bug hunt last night, and I stopped to snap this photo of a balloon present flying in the background.

Moments later, I tracked it down and shot it out of the sky. I found a clothes closet inside.

There is a tricky spot on my peninsula where I only have about a 50% success rate of catching bugs (as you may know if you’ve watched my bug hunt videos). This time, a golden stag got away…which was painful. But it looked pretty cool when I saw this particular frame in my video:

I made about 125k in last night’s bug hunt.

I played again tonight, and Peaches told me she was already thinking about moving away!

I told her to stay, but I didn’t convince her at first. But later in the session, I did manage to change her mind.

Pecan approached me and gave me a free burglar’s shirt!

She was clearly dumping some evidence off on me. 😛 I don’t know whose house, shop, or bird feeder she robbed, but I promptly sold the shirt before Copper or Booker could spot me with it. 😛

One of my residents was sick with a cold, so I handed over some medicine. But from this screenshot, it may not be apparent which villager it is. Can you tell? WHO’S. THAT. POKEMON. VILLAGER?

Of course, it’s easier if you already know who my villagers are. For those who don’t know, I’ll tell you the answer: It’s a cat. To be specific, it’s… Felicity. Hopefully she’ll start to feel better soon.

After making my rounds, I went on another bug hunt tonight. One notable thing that happened is that I went 3-for-3 with scorpions! One of them was just luck though, because I wouldn’t have seen it if not for a tree disappearing when I caught a different bug. Also, all three of them were in the same haul (my next-to-last haul of the night).

I didn’t see any tarantulas or shark fins for the entire session. But I did bring in 260k tonight, and I think it’s safe to say I’m back on-track now. I’m again on a pace to meet (or slightly beat) my summer goal. But if I want to significantly exceed it, I’ll have to end August on a tear…and I may just do that, particularly in the last week of the month. We’ll see how it goes!

I still haven’t participated in any of the fireworks festivals yet, but I’ll try to remedy that soon. 🙂 See you next week!
