Scoot Back

I found a new house in town today, and it was in the same spot where Marina lived. My newest neighbor is Scoot the duck!

Scoot: WHOA! You must be one of my new Forest neighbors!

I like Scoot, but probably not as much as I liked Marina. And Scoot lived in Forest in 2018-19, so it hasn’t been a super long time since I’ve seen him.

When I visited Mint, she commented on the fact that I’ve been wearing my pulse shirt for a while. She told me that it’s not right for me to wear the same clothes all the time. How rude!

Mint: Listen. You can't just wear the same clothes all the time, it's minty. I mean, it's just not right.

For one thing, that’s none of your business, Mint. And by the way, you’ve been wearing that guard uniform since at least August 10th! That’s several weeks longer than I’ve been wearing my pulse shirt! 😡

But even before Mint said that, I had already decided to order myself a new costume for Halloween this year. I dressed as a cavalier last year, and a mummy in 2023. Ultimately, I decided to order myself a pirate outfit.

Pirate's hat: 192 bells.

I bumped into Fang, and he said the line about howling at the moon. Perfect for a wolf! It also worked well with his catchphrase, “I howled.”

Fang: Evening. It's one honey of a night, isn't it? Makes me want to howl at the moon, I howled!

The catchphrase made it sound like he was saying “I wanted to howl at the moon, so I did.”

Later, I went over to the Roost for K.K.’s Saturday night show. He performed “K.K. Cruisin'” for me. Good song!

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Cruisin'.

Last Sunday, I posted a (rare) new episode of Mario Plays ACCF. If you haven’t seen it yet, here it is:

I’m planning on playing City Folk for Halloween again this year, and hopefully I’ll remember to trap my villagers ahead of time. 😉 Anyone else going to be playing some of the older games on Halloween?

Fossils Calling Out

I received Marina’s goodbye letter in the mail today. The ink was still wet. 🐙

Dearest Jeff, I'm leaving Forest today... I know it's the right step, but I'm still sad, because I'll be leaving you. I hope I see you again someday. -From Marina

You can tell Halloween is coming by the color of the grass and trees. It’s getting close; less than two weeks to go!

The autumn colors of nature in Forest.

When Felicity asked me for a new catchphrase, I wanted to give her something fitting for Halloween. So I told her to say “BOO!” 👻

Felicity: Woo hoo! BOO!

Deena was sick with a cold, so I gave her a dose of medicine. Get well soon, Deena!

Around 8:30 p.m., I headed over to the Roost for the Saturday night show. I asked K.K. Slider for a random song (as usual), and he performed “K.K. Casbah” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Casbah.

I ran into Big Top outside, after the show. He was holding a shovel, and he was out looking for fossils. He even said he could hear their names calling out to him.

Big Top: I can hear their names calling to me... Neanderthal, pterodactyl, tyrannosaurus...

Fortunately, I didn’t hear them calling out myself. This would be a very different game if the old fossils started coming back to life. 😛

Marina on the Move

On Thursday, Deena said that it felt like autumn snuck up on us. It always seems to happen that way, doesn’t it? 😛

Deena: Autumn just snuck up on us, huh, woowoo?!

When I visited Felicity’s house, I noticed that she has most of her bugs lined up on her back wall, next to her kitchen sink! Seems like a weird place to put them, unless she plans on cooking with them?

A while back, I gave Monty a catchphrase of “my key,” which sounds a bit like “monkey.” But yesterday, he used it after asking me to find his key, so it was a bit repetitive.

Monty: Hey, wanna earn major brownie points, kiddo? Wouldja help me look for my key, my key?
I didn’t help him find his key, his key.

Big Top also used his catchphrase in an interesting way, saying that fossils are like dirt-covered candy, in a coma. It kinda makes sense, doesn’t it?

Big Top: A huh huh! This shovel means it's fossil time! Fossils are like dirt-covered candy, in a coma!

Today, I missed out on another fishing tournament. But Chip informed me that Fang was the winner, with a 41.2-inch sea bass. Congrats, Fang!

I was saddened to find Marina all packed up and ready to swim out of town. 🙁 I’ll miss her, but it’s likely that we’ll meet again in one game or another.

Marina: I hope that we meet again someday, somewhere, I'm afraid!

On a more pleasant note, my savings balance reached a new milestone today: 74 million bells.

Your current balance is 74,000,000 bells.

I took a bus ride out to the city, and I even attended a Dr. Shrunk show at the Marquee theater! It was the “happiness” show, but his joke didn’t make me happy.

Shrunk: Huh?! Orange you glad I didn't say happiness again?

Elvis and Pippy were also at the show, and I loved what Pippy said about Dr. Shrunk. She’s scared of him, and she thinks he wants to eat her! 😮

Pippy: I'm, like, totally SCARED of him, li'l hare! I think he wants to eat me.

When I returned to Forest, I went over to the Roost for K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I asked him for a random song, and he performed “K.K. Salsa” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Salsa.

And on the way back around to the shop, I shot down an orange balloon present. I found a block floor inside.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone! I’ll see you next time.
