Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So some blog entries will cover multiple game days. If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in! At the bottom of the page, you'll be able to find links to all of the entries. Or read my review.

Day 103

Today, I used the Amiibo phone to call Booker. As I mentioned last time, Booker was one of the cards I got in the pack of Series 2 Amiibo Cards that I recently purchased.

When I called him up, Booker referred to himself as Officer Booker. That statement seemed curious to me, because in the GameCube version of Animal Crossing, Tortimer clearly refers to Booker as a lieutenant on Officer's Day. Has Booker been demoted?! Why has he lost his title and why doesn't someone find it for him?

Keeping with the "lost and found" theme, Booker told me that he lost his house!

Booker: Uh, hello? This is Officer Booker. I can help if you're in danger. I guess...
Booker: Oh! That's right! I lost my house!
I decided to make his new house resemble the classic police station from New Leaf, just because the modern one has a more unique shape that isn't available in Happy Home Designer. I put in a helipad, just in case the police department eventually finds the funds for a police helicopter. The location I chose doesn't have a lot of space to work with, seeing as it's on a river and right up against railroad tracks. But at least I got a picture of the train going by!

Indoors, I tried to recreate the look of the police station from the GameCube version of Animal Crossing. Unfortunately, I couldn't put any tools, stationery, or a furniture "leaf" as the lost-and-found items. But I did find a few table-top items that seemed to work.

I also used the "I want U!" poster that was in the GameCube game, via a pattern I made for New Leaf. You can find the QR code on this page if you're interested. I also used a document stack customized with the "BB" design from the BB shirt. I figure it could stand for Booker's book or Booker's bookings. (If you have some other ideas, leave it in a comment below!)

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. If you'd like to visit the police station, just go to project code 0801-5722-135. Or, uh...get arrested. I guess...
