Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in! At the bottom of the page, you'll be able to find links to all of the entries. Or read my review.

Day 75

Erik the deer was out on Main Street today. He wanted a cozy mountain cottage where he could enjoy the fresh air.

Of course, I put his home up in the mountains and I made sure it was winter. I'm not sure if Erik is officially a reindeer or not, but I'll be treating him as one. I added in some decorated trees and made his house red and green for Christmas. I also put in a newly-unlocked tree stump chair.

I used the other new furniture items indoors: The bread basket, lantern, backpack, and rice-plant bed. Along with cabin furniture and a fireplace, this should make for a nice, cozy home for Erik.

Day 76

Penelope the pink mouse was out on Main Street today. She told me that even though she's not getting married, she wants to throw a huge wedding party. I picked out a piece of land near a river, and I made sure it was springtime (with cherry blossoms falling). The bell PWP was unlocked with this project, and Penelope insisted on including it outdoors. Not a problem.

I decided to make the reception outdoors. There are tables and chairs for all the guests, along with the wedding cake and some fancy tea sets. I tried to make her house look a bit like a church, and I used a heart rug on the ground. I added in some red roses for good measure; I really like the way this came out.

Inside the church, I put in some benches to act as pews for the wedding guests. Some special event rugs lead up to the front of the church, where the lucky couple will tie the knot. There is a podium for the pastor or priest to perform the ceremony, and there is a pipe organ off to the side. But since the pipe organ can't play K.K. songs, I also put in a phonograph to play K.K. Chorale.

By request, I have gone back and uploaded some of my early villager house creations to the Happy Home Network. Here are the codes to visit them:

Thanks for stopping by. See you next time!
