Marina on the Move

Sunday (July 9th) was Static’s birthday. So I crafted him a traditional balancing toy, which is made out of acorns. (If he doesn’t like balancing it, he can always eat it.)

Traditional balancing toy.

I headed over to his party, and Marina was also there. I gave Static the gift, and he acted like it was a generous gift. 😆 But at least he liked it, and now he has an excuse to cut loose. 😛

Static: Guess I got an excuse to cut loose. That's if I can remember how...

Daisy Mae was in town, and she was selling turnips for a good price (91 bells apiece). I bought 2,300 of them. Later that night, K.K. Slider performed K.K. Mariachi for me.

Yesterday, Marina pinged me and told me she wanted to move away. It wasn’t easy, but I decided to let her go. She has lived in town for nearly two years, so she’s had a good run. I am trying not to let my island become too stagnant, so that means saying goodbye to villagers I like. But I’m sure I’ll see her again someday.

Marina: It'll make me sad to move away from you, but I'll be taking a step forward in a new direction!

Just to be clear, this had nothing to do with Midge’s return. Midge didn’t talk me into this or anything. 😛

Gulliver was in town today, so I grabbed my shovel and started digging up his communicator pieces. I was having unusually good luck, because they were all in the same area. In fact, it only took me 55 seconds to dig up all five, and that’s with stopping to talk to Ankha too! I returned them, and Gulliver will send me a reward tomorrow.

And of course, I headed over to Marina’s house to say goodbye before she swims away. Good luck to you, Marina!

Marina: I'm leaving the island tomorrow, so wish me luck on my next adventure.

Outside, Punchy was telling me that he plays so hard, he sometimes forgets to go home when the sun goes down. Then he tried to convince me that the moon is a light bulb? I wonder what gave him that bright idea?

Punchy, Didja know, Jeff? The reason why it's bright at night is because the moon is a light bulb!
Yeah I don’t think that’s true. 💡

I’ll probably spend a few Nook Miles tickets tomorrow to search for a new villager. If that doesn’t work out, I’ll just see who I get randomly. I’ll be back with another entry when the next Forest resident moves in!
