Unhappy Snowboy

On Wednesday, Nan the goat was camping at my campsite. She’s nice, and I’ve had her in New Leaf before (back in 2014). But I didn’t ask her to move in here.

Nan, at the campsite: I'm Nan, by the way.

I caught a scallop while diving, and Pascal popped up to ask for it. He shared some words of wisdom about time, and he wondered why we don’t give something back to time. I’m not sure how exactly that would work, but I’m sure it makes sense to him.

Pascal: Time is a sweetheart, always gifting you with the present. When do we give it something back, maaan?

He gave me a pearl in exchange for the scallop.

As of Thursday (December 11th), snow now covers the ground on the island. I made my first snowman snowboy of the winter tonight. He wasn’t happy with his appearance though, unfortunately.

Outside of Resident Services, I joined Ankha for K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I asked for a random song, and he performed “K.K. Milonga” for us.

K.K. Slider performs for Ankha and Jeff in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Here are some other quick notes about this week in Forest:

  • On Tuesday, I gave medicine to a sick Louie. He rewarded me with a baji jeogori.
  • Bones asked me to catch a damselfly for him, so I did. In return, he gave me a flower sweater.
  • I scored 30,000 bells from a balloon present on Wednesday.
  • I changed my town tune to the Metroid find-item jingle. (See the notes here.)
  • I helped out Gulliver Thursday, and he sent me another sombrero.
  • Yesterday, I sold 20 bugs (mostly wasps) to Flick for 87,750 bells.

See you next time! Never Stop Crossing!

Twirling Trio

On Thursday, I ran into Pascal while diving. He popped up to tell me some words of wisdom. He said he already has a washer and a dryer, but what he really needs is a put-away-er. 😆

Pascal: I've got a washer and a dryer, but, maaan, what I really need is a put-away-er.

He gave me a pearl in exchange for the scallop I gave him.

At Able Sisters, Peanut was staring at a hot-dog costume. She said she wanted to try it on and twirl around in it! I hope she doesn’t get mustard everywhere! 🌭

Peanut: I think maybe I'm going to try on this hot-dog costume and, you know...twirl around in it.

Yesterday, I spotted some stripey billow clouds up in the sky. I believe this is only the 2nd time I’ve seen them.

Billow clouds above Forest.

Gladys the ostrich was camping over at the campsite. She seemed nice, but I wasn’t interested in asking her to move in.

Gladys: Hi there! Do you live here? You're so lucky--I'm just visiting, stretch.

I ran into Kid Cat over on the dock, and he told me he lost his training notebook. Fittingly, he used the catchphrase “in Wii Fit.”

Kid Cat: I lost my training notebook. Where could it be, in Wii Fit...

I had already found his book, so I handed it over right on the spot. He said it was his manual for expert steps aerobics. He thanked me, and he rewarded me with a quilted down jacket.

While I was playing today, I put my system into sleep mode when I was in Resident Services. When I resumed the game, I went outside to see three of my villagers (who were seated for K.K.’s show) stand up, twirl, and simultaneously change from umbrellas into winter hats.

Bones, Bob, and Static change into winter hats.

Not only that, but two of them then moved to different seats before sitting back down. 😆 It was a funny sequence, and that will certainly be in my next New Horizons Moments video. I joined the twirling trio for K.K. Slider’s performance of “K.K. Hop,” which isn’t one of my favorite songs. At least not when performed live.

After the show, I visited Peanut. June was sitting on her floor, and it almost looked like Peanut had kidnapped her and was holding her hostage. 😆

Peanut: Yay! June is hanging out here too!
Against her will, it seems. 😛

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • On Sunday, Peanut asked me to catch a cricket for her. I did, and she rewarded me with her photo again. That’s the third one she’s given me!
  • Tuesday, I recovered Wisp’s spirits for him. He gave me a scoreboard for helping out.
  • Thursday, I found Gullivarrr’s phone for him. He sent me a sea captain’s coat in the mail.
  • Yesterday, I sold 14 fish (mostly sturgeon and red snappers) to C.J. for 113,250 bells. 💰

Turkey Day 2025

Last Sunday, June wanted a new greeting to replace “It’s summertime!” Since summer is way over, I told her to say “Time to hibernate” instead.

June: OK, let's give it a try... Time to hibernate.

Tex was camping at the campsite for the 4th time! He should get the message at this point. I don’t want him here. 😛

Tex, at the campsite: Fun stuff!

Thursday was Turkey Day (Thanksgiving), and I helped out Franklin by collecting ingredients for his cooking.

Franklin: I'm Franklin, professional chef extraordinaire. Nook Inc. hired me to come and cook for everyone.

Here are the four dishes and the ingredients for each:

  • clam chowder (3 manila clams)
  • pumpkin pie (orange pumpkin, green pumpkin)
  • gratin (flat mushroom, potato)
  • meuniere (sea bass, dab)

I had many of those ingredients in storage already, so that didn’t take me long. But the secret ingredients took me longer, and required some trading with villagers.

Bob: Hooray! Now my food'll get to be its yum-yum-yummiest self. Here, take my extra Dungeness crab.

We ultimately added a scallop to the clam chowder, yellow and white pumpkin to the pumpkin pie, Dungeness crab to the gratin, and a barred knifejaw to the meuniere. Everything was now perfect!

The four perfect dishes for Turkey Day.

Bob provided me with those last two secret ingredients, so he was the MVP of Turkey Day this year. (Just like Bones was the MVP last year.)

Tonight, Static and Agent S joined me at the plaza for K.K. Slider’s show. The singing dog performed “K.K. Swing” for us.

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • Last Sunday, I gave medicine to a sick Static. He got better instantly, and he rewarded me with a cycling cap.
  • I recovered Wisp’s spirits, and he gave me a diner sofa.
  • I helped out Gulliver on Wednesday, and he sent me another geisha wig.

Tonight, I posted a compilation of my best New Horizons clips. It includes the best clips from the first ten New Horizons Moments videos, as well as from my original 25-episode series from 2020. It’s a good trip down memory lane, with some laughs as well. I hope you’ll check it out!
