100% Debt Free

Crazy Redd was in town today, and he had a basic painting for sale. I bought it, and it turned out to be the real deal! I quickly donated it to the museum.

The new Message of the Week said that money is the root of all evil. It then advised to dig, dig, dig. 😛

*Message of the Week* Money is the root of evil. Dig! Dig! Dig!

After correctly answering Big Top’s quiz, he gave me his gas pump. He told me to use it however I’d like.

Big Top: Please use my gas pump however you'd like.

While fishing, I caught a pale chub. I must have missed out on this fish last year, because this was my first one! I made sure to donate it to the museum.

I caught a pale chub! Hm... It could use some sun.

At town hall, I paid off the last 35,000 bells that I owed. I am now completely debt-free! Yay!

My home loan is ALL paid off!

I returned to Tom Nook, and he thanked me for paying off my loan. There was no reward for paying it off, but he advised me to open a savings account at town hall. Wow, thanks a lot, Tom Nook.

Tom Nook: After all, there's no social security in Forest!

With that, I ended my game for the night. And now that I’ve fully paid off all my debt, I have a small announcement. I will now only be updating this blog once a week (for the most part, at least). While I still plan to play twice a week for a while (since I still need artwork on Tuesdays and K.K. songs on Saturdays), there generally won’t be a 2nd entry unless something significant is going on.

Green Jeff Sees Red

Tonight, Kiki gave me a night sky tee…out of the blue. I decided to put it on.

Kiki: Hey, J-rock, you want a night sky tee? 'Cuz I've got a spare.

Big Top’s house was empty again, as he again tried to move out of town. This isn’t the circus, where you move from town to town each week. You’re stuck here for a while, big guy.

I listened in on a conversation between Hopper and Rhonda, and Rhonda said she was bad at remembering names. So instead, she uses colors to describe a person’s personality.

Rhonda: Then, I just remember you as, like, Green Jeff! Or Purple Rhonda!

So naturally, Hopper wanted to know what color he was.

Hopper: Hey, wait a sec! Are you gonna tell me it's black? Come on, that's so obvious!

Hopper then told a story about how he went to a color coordinator, who told Hopper he was a burnt umber. Rhonda then agreed with that choice.

Rhonda: Wait, no! You really are a burnt umber! I can't believe I never saw it before!

That was certainly a unique conversation.

On the bulletin board, the latest “Talking to Myself” post hints at some possible animosity between the pelican sisters.

-Talking to Myself- I wonder if my sister intentionally leaves the curtain out of the tub just to make me mad?

As I was banging the money rock, Rhonda came up to me and interrupted me! So I only got three money bags out of the rock, for a total of 700 bells. Purple Rhonda is making Green Jeff see red.

Rhonda interrupts as Jeff was hitting the money rock.

Down at the Roost, K.K. Slider performed “My Place” for me.

After that, I headed over to town hall and made a 30,000 bell mortgage payment. Before wrapping up my night, I took some medicine over to Curly. He’s still suffering with the swine flu.

Opulent Opportunity

Crazy Redd had an opulent painting for sale today, and I bought it. Even though Redd said he was glad to finally be rid of it, it turned out to be a legitimate painting! I immediately donated it to the museum.

Opulent painting. Donor: Jeff.Just six more paintings to go!

I ran into Rosie next to Nookington’s, and she told me it’s not fun to eat vegetables, but candy makes her happy.

Rosie: But candy makes me happy, so I chow on it like crazy! At the bulletin board, I was eating up the new Message of the Week. It’s about breakfast. Mmm, breakfast… (Sorry, I just watched a video of Homer Simpson clips). 😛

*Message of the Week* Lunch is at noon. Breakfast is anytime!

In Baabara’s house, I answered a quiz question correctly. Baabara gave me a prize, which was a scale armor suit. Just like the one I tried to give her a few weeks back (on Feb. 27).

Baabara: ...Please accept my scale armor suit as your prize, shear me!

When I visited Rhonda, she asked me for some new clothes. I gave her the scale armor suit–just like I did on February 27th!

Rhonda: Whoa... Oh hey, this is a scale armor suit, isn't it, bigfoot?

She enjoyed it (again), and she rewarded me with a Tyrolean hat. It’s green, so I could have used this for St. Patrick’s Day. I put it on, even if I’m celebrating a little late. 😉

Jeff wears a Tyrolean hat in Animal Crossing: Wild World.

At town hall, I made a 35,000 bell mortgage payment. After that, my last stop of the day was at Curly’s house. He was still sick with a cold, so I gave him some medicine again.

Curly sparkles after taking his medicine.

See you all next time!
