Today is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year! The game celebrates the occasion in an unusual way: The sun doesn’t set all night! I really wish they would just make days longer in summer instead of just putting all the extra daylight into one day, but it does make for a unique night.
Isabelle acts as the Tortimer of old, giving out gifts on holidays and special occasions. Today, she gave out ladder shades.
The animals also talk about the occasion.
And I caught my first stinkbug today.
In Club LOL, Shrunk taught me the sleepy emotion. In other words…*YAWN*.
Aurora was asking me some questions; when I was done, she said my key to happiness was raisin bread. She couldn’t be more wrong.
I tried to go work at the cafe again, but Brewster didn’t need my help today!
Later on, at 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Nick came over…but we soon got disconnected. It was a different Nick from last week though. I reopened my gate, and Wendy came over, followed by Nick. But we soon disconnected again. I opened my gate for a third time; this time, Kyle, Dash, and Wendy came over.
We first headed up to Main Street for some shopping.
Next, we went into Club LOL for some dancing.
We stopped in the cafe, and then visited my house. Outside, the sun was still shining. Molly was busy doing her “business.”
It was weird seeing fireflies in the sunlight.
We soon headed out to the island. Interestingly enough, it was night on the island.
After some fishing and bug-hunting, we did a scavenger hunt tour and then returned to Forest. Even though I didn’t notice it earlier in the day, there was a cutout there to celebrate the summer solstice.
And somehow, I accidentally got pushed onto the edge of the town tree. And then I saw something that really surprised me! Once your tree is big enough to sit on the border of it, you are treated to a scrolling history of your town! Wow!
It tells the dates of when you started, when animals moved to town, when stores opened up, and how many visitors you’ve had. I was not expecting that at all. A nice surprise, for sure.
Of course, there’s always time for hammer fights.
Around midnight, I ended the party multi-player session. Wendy wanted to see if her town tree was big enough to sit and see the town history, so she invited me over to try it out. Unfortunately, hers isn’t big enough yet. But we stopped to take a picture at her summer solstice cutout.
She also had some other visitors come to her town. James, Thomas, and Kyle stopped by at various points.
And I couldn’t help but notice that with this strange lighting, Isabelle resembled the Joker. I pointed it out and Wendy saw it too.
Wendy ended the session around 1:00 my time. That’s all for tonight, but I’ll be back with more tomorrow. Have a great weekend, everyone!
For those of you wondering about the hair guide I’m working on, I made a second character for my haircut tests and I hope to have the guide done over the weekend.
Now I think I’m done buying fortune cookies for the time being. I have everything I want, so I’m going to start spending all my play coins on the 3DS puzzle swap instead.
The customers come in and place their orders. They’ll tell you how they want their coffee.
But it’s not as easy as it sounds! You have to choose the type of beans, how much milk, and how much sugar to put. But the customers will only specify one of those things! There doesn’t seem to be any way of knowing the correct way to make it! Maybe you have to just keep guessing at it each day until you accidentally get it right? Needless to say, my first day didn’t go so well.
When I was done with my four customers, Brewster paid me…in coffee beans.
I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do with them. Oh well.
Phineas was in town today, and he gave me the Insect Maniac badge for catching a lot of bugs.
And speaking of bugs, I saw a violin beetle on my tree stump. I caught it and donated it to the museum.
In the mail today, I got a letter from Gulliver that he sent from Greece. He sent me a pair of gladiator sandals, oddly enough. I was expecting furniture, but that’s okay. They didn’t look very good on me, so I put them on display in my Gulliver exhibit at the museum.
I then took a peach over to Shrunk at Club LOL. He taught me the “thought” emotion.
And I’m going to pass along a tip I got from
Today marks my 50th day with Animal Crossing New Leaf, and it’s also my 50th day blogging about my life in Forest. I haven’t missed a day yet! I hope you’ll keep coming back every day for more! Have a great day, everyone!
He told me I could start tomorrow! Hopefully it won’t involve serving Katt, because I’ll quit.
And I decided to have a little fun with my megaphone today. I called around to my animals to find out where they were… and I even yelled for Rory when I was standing right next to him. He got mad at me.
Anyway, his clues indicated he was going to Greece. So I should be receiving a gift from him in the mail tomorrow.
After that, I decided I was due for another town project. I chose to build a fountain. I put it just a bit south of the train station/railroad tracks, so it’s not too far from where its position was in City Folk.
The cost was just a hair over 99,000 bells–much cheaper than it was on City Folk, oddly enough. So I paid it off right away. It will be completed tomorrow.
After finding my four fossils, I headed up to Main Street. One of the fossils was new; the others were duplicates. And in Club LOL, Shrunk taught me the joy emotion.
Down the street, in the supermarket, Benedict commented on how much he liked the name “Super T&T.” In fact, he told me to start calling him Super Benedict. Not gonna happen, Chicken Man.
And I almost forgot to check out my house expansion! So I went up to take a look… All that money, and it’s still just 6×6. Nook is such a rip-off in New Leaf.
Just a couple Wi-Fi related notes:
