Late last night, Wendy got to visit her own island for the first time. She invited me to come along with her, so I did. After some bad haircuts yesterday, we were wearing blue Pikmin hats to cover up.
We were doing a lot of swimming and diving, and I caught this ugly creature: a giant isopod.
And on more than one occasion, we had to flee from an attacking jellyfish!
We stayed on the island a long time, but we eventually returned to Oakville. In Wendy’s house, we discovered that while sitting in a chair, you can move around a bit. It makes a “whoop” sound effect and we kept doing it and cracking ourselves up.
I offered to let her use my wet suit overnight, but I had to give her a warning about it…
And of course, I continued using my toy hammer on her.
Before she ended the party, she tested out the wet suit by jumping off the cliff right outside her house.
Today, the Bug-Off competition was held. I still had some bugs left over from the island last night, so I gave a couple of them to Nat. A cyclommatus stag took over first place, with 87 points. Nat rewarded me with a caterpillar sofa.
This is what it looks like:
I also saw Phineas in town today. He gave me a Seafood Maniac badge for finding many things while diving.
^I literally had to take that picture four times because I kept blinking. This game has too much blinking! But Phineas wasn’t done with me; he also gave me a badge for playing a lot!
I then took some fruit to Shrunk, and he taught me the distress emotion. It now appears that I have half of the emotions in the game.
I also stopped at the cafe for some coffee. While there, I saw KK enjoying some coffee as well. Well technically, he was called “DJ KK” now. “Villager Jeff” isn’t so sure he approves.
Brewster told me that starting tomorrow, I can get coffee to-go by ordering from the counter on the right.
After 6:00, I went into Nat’s tent for the Bug-Off results ceremony. My bug remained in first place, and I won the competition! Big Top came in 2nd place, and Katt finished third.
At 8:00, I was going to play with Ness/Bushido, but he kept getting error messages when trying to visit Forest. He’s going to try adjusting his router settings to get things to work, but he didn’t want to fool with it today. But I decided to open my gate anyway. So Wendy and Rae came over to play.
It’s Saturday night, so we went up to Club LOL for some K.K. songs. After two songs, Joey also came over to visit. He joined us in the club for a couple more songs.
We hung out in the museum for a while and then spent some time at the cafe. The waiter never came out to serve us! What lousy service!
We also did the chair “whooping” thing, which was good for some more laughs.
Tabby was hiding indoors again today, so I went to check out her house. She has a wall-mounted fan that’s really cool. It’s so high up that your character has to literally jump to turn it on or off. This was another surprisingly amusing thing to do.
We then headed out to the island for some fishing, bug-catching, and swimming.
After a short while, I ended the party for the night. Thanks for coming, Wendy, Rae, and Joey! I had a good time!
I’ll be back tomorrow night with another update, so I hope to see you all then. Enjoy your weekend!
So I started my daily search for fossils and the money rock. I also stopped in the cafe for a cup of coffee.
And as expected, I met my newest neighbor……..Tabby. Anytime you say her name, be sure to start with a long pause and make sure there’s a lot of disappointment in your voice as you pronounce it. That’s the correct way to say it (because I’m the mayor and I say so). 😀
I found four fossils today, and then I headed up to Main Street. Shrunk taught me the bashfulness emotion.
And further down Main Street, the construction was complete! The salon, Shampoodle, is open for business!

Wendy came out disappointed; she didn’t get quite what she wanted.
I soon ended the party. But then I remembered that I had a toy hammer I haven’t used on any animals yet! Tabby was still indoors, so she got to escape my wrath for today. So I looked around until I found Katt. Hey Katt… STOP!
HAMMER TIME!
That was fun. But I can’t wait to try it out on Tabby.
Today, I went back to Re-Tail to get my customized astro clock back from Cyrus. It looks nice, but I would have preferred a darker shade of blue.
I then headed over to Forest’s newest attraction: the cafe!
Brewster was inside, serving coffee. The cafe looks bigger and nicer than his old coffee shop, The Roost.
And of course, I ordered a cup of joe.
But after just one cup, he cut me off!
After I was done in there, I saw a new area roped off; a new animal is moving in. Who could it be? So I read the sign…and then I read it again in hopes that it didn’t say what I thought it said. But sadly, it’s true: Tabby is moving in. NOOOOOOooooOooOOOOoOoo….
After receiving such frightening news, I needed some comedy. So I headed up to Club LOL. Shrunk taught me a new emotion, delight. It’s the clapping/applauding emotion, which is one of my favorites.
On Main Street, the area around the Able Sisters was still under construction. I’m hoping I’ll get Shampoodle tomorrow.
And then I decided to try out Club Tortimer. I chose to play with other North American players.
But when I got there, I was the only one there! So I returned to Forest, and tried again with worldwide players. Once again, no one was there but me. I decided to give it one last try, with North American players, and this time there was one other player there. His name was Storphen, and we played a couple island tours. He beat me both times.
We played a butterfly-catching game and the toy hammer game. Both times, Chris got first place, I got second place, and Wendy got last place.
Here is a video of the butterfly competition:
That wrapped up our night in New Leaf.
