Aurora and Spring

On Thursday, I found a goodbye letter from Chevre in the mail. I’m sad to see her goat. I mean, go. 🙁

Dear Jeff, I know this is sudden, but... I had to leave the village. I don't know where I'm headed, but don't worry--I'll get by somehow. Thanks for all you've done for me! Farewell! -Chevre!

I also received a letter from Mom, saying she would actually pay ten bells just to be able to sleep in later! Aww, you go ahead and sleep in, Mom!

My dear Jeff, There's an old saying that you can save three bells by waking up early, but me, I'd pay ten just to be able to sleep late... I do love my beauty rest! Time is money! -Mom

I found Chevre’s replacement, and it’s the very cute Aurora! She lived in Forest before back in 2013. Welcome to Forest, Aurora!

Aurora: Oh, hello. My name is Aurora. How are you?

When I ran into Tom, he was telling me about the sports fair. Interestingly, he called the third event a bean-bag toss, when everything else I’ve seen refers to it as a ball toss.

Tom: It starts with tough aerobics, then they have foot races, a bean-bag toss and a tug-of-war!

On Friday, I participated in the spring sports fair…attending all four events! I won’t detail everything here in the blog, because I’ve posted a video of the event, which you can check out here:

But I will point out one thing that I thought was particularly amusing: Gaston was doing some trash talking, saying that his race opponent had chicken legs. And his opponent actually was a chicken…Hank! 😆

Gaston: If that's my opponent, my victory's a complete lock! Look at those chicken legs!

Kody was talking about groundhogs, and how he had wanted to catch one for years.

Kody: I wonder if any groundhogs have come above ground yet... You seen any of those little dudes, okey-dokey?

But then he seemed to realize that his idea didn’t make much sense. 😆

Kody: I've wanted to catch one for YEARS, okey-dokey! Although...what would be the point of doing that?

Today, Maple told me how much she loves this time of year.

Maple: I love this time of year! The buds on the trees and flowers on the ground are starting to open up!

She’s particularly looking forward to the cherry blossoms that will start falling from trees in early April. Me too, Maple. 🌸

Belle asked me to buy her violin for 2,660 bells. I declined, and she then offered a cabana lamp for 2,000 bells. I wasn’t interested in that either, so Belle got mad and wondered how she was going to carry both items all the way back to her house. Of course, we were standing right outside her house at the time.

Belle: How am I supposed to carry them both back to my house, cuddles!?

In other news, Ursala called me a slob. Why do I put up with these animals? 😛

Ursala: Hey, you're such a slob! Don't you ever clean your house, grooomph?

That’s all I have for now, but I’ll be back again in April. Never Stop Crossing!

Gaston: Finished already?
