On Wednesday, I received a goodbye letter from Wart Jr. in the mail. I’m glad it was him, and not Lily, that moved out.

When I spoke with Candi, she offered to buy the trilobite I had in my pockets for 2,290 bells. I agreed to the trade, but then something unusual happened. She said she hoped I wasn’t agreeing just to be nice…

…and she gave me a chance to back out of the deal! But I still sold it to her.

Usually, villagers are at the opposite end of the spectrum on things like this. Occasionally, they will even steal things from you outright, without giving you a chance to decline! So seeing Candi giving me a second chance was really surprising! Thanks for being nice for a change, Candi!
Nearby, I found a new house. Murphy the bear cub is my newest villager!

Murphy lived in Forest back in 2012, but there’s an interesting twist to that: I never actually saw him at the time, at least not his face! See, he moved in on Halloween that year. So when I got over to his house, he was already dressed up as Jack, demanding candy from me! And by the next time I played, he had already moved out! But at any rate, welcome (back) to Forest, Murphy!
Baabara was telling me about what she saw while walking by the beach one night. She said that she saw a body lying there in the sand!

And when she went back to see it a 2nd time, it was gone! Even though it sounded like she was talking about Gulliver, she seemed to think it was a ghost.

On Thursday, it was raining in town. Fortunately, Puck devised a plan to make the rain stop: Just simply wait for the rainy season to end. Genius.

Meanwhile, Murphy did not seem very happy to see me. For no apparent reason. He’s not making a very good impression on me so far.

Hank told me that he thought he could show off for the ladies by bowling in the rain. I guess as long as he watches out for strikes…of lightning.

I guess rain bowling is right up his alley. 🎳
I played again tonight, and it was raining once again. Tom warned me not to spin my umbrella anywhere near him, because he didn’t want to get wet.

I wasn’t looking to start any beef with Tom, so I didn’t get my umbrella out and spin it on him out of spite. Not this time, at least. 😆
After making my rounds, I did a little ocean fishing (just 5-10 minutes) in hopes of snagging a coelacanth. I didn’t find one, but I did catch a couple of barred knifejaws and several red snappers as well. But there will be plenty of time for good ocean fishing in September.
