Peaches Isn’t Homeless Anymore

I went into the city today and saw a scary sight…a Francine look-alike! It was Chrissy, who must be Francine’s (slightly less evil) twin!

Chrissy in the city in Animal Crossing: City Folk for Wii.Back in Forest, Saharah was out and about, looking for old carpets. As I went around asking my villagers for carpet, I noticed a new house and stepped in.

Peaches: I just moved here today from Onett. My name is Peaches.Peaches! She’s not homeless anymore! In a comment left on an earlier blog, Hannah informed me that when you see an animal in the city repeatedly like that, it means they’ve moved out of a friend’s town and they basically are indeed homeless, until they move into another town. Even though I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about the game, I never knew that.

And sure enough, Peaches moved in today…and she came from a friend’s town. Onett would be Ash’s town, and Ash just recently started playing the game again, so it all makes sense. So thanks to Hannah for teaching me something new. 🙂

Also, Peaches’ arrival marks the first time that a former resident of my ACCF town has moved back in. It’s happened many times on GameCube, but that’s because I’ve had my GameCube town for a long time. It was bound to happen eventually in City Folk too, and Peaches is the first to do it.

But moving right along, I eventually got old carpets from Pierce, Ruby, and Mint. That was three, so I took them to Saharah and exchanged them for a tropical floor.

Bob: You need an old carpet? Why? Are you gonna roll yourself up like a Jeff burrito?Saharah: Here...a tropical floor. Very exotic... Treasure it. It is a very rare thing. One final note. While walking around town, I had my net out briefly to catch a bug. I put it away and then when I walked a bit farther, I saw a tarantula. My net being out had riled him up, so I couldn’t catch him the calm way (where he will slowly walk right up to you, if you don’t rile him up first).

So I backed up a bit, got out my net and he CHARGED at me! I swung my net…….and got him! It was the first time that I caught one the hard way, when it’s charging at you. I sold the tarantula, an oak silk moth, and a few other bugs I caught, and then I saved and quit the game.

Mundane Monday

Just a quick update. Wendell was in town tonight, but I didn’t talk to him. A surprise hybrid popped up: A pink cosmos. It wasn’t planned at all. My two blue roses near Scott’s ocean house produced another black rose. That makes two in July, and five total since May. Rosie had me deliver a lucky frog to Francine, and then gave me 528 bells as my reward.

Help Me, Rhonda

I got Rhonda’s goodbye letter in the mail, which means she has left town. Rhonda may not have been my favorite animal, but she left a deep impression on me. Her house also left a deep impression on the dirt in Forest.

Dearest Jeff, I'm leaving Forest today... I know it's the right step, but I'm still sad, because I'll be leaving you. I hope I see you again someday. -From RhondaToday was the flea market, so I went in a few animals’ houses to see what they had. There wasn’t really much that I wanted. The one thing I was a bit interested in was Rosie’s sandbag. Jorge and I had some fun beating some animal’s sandbag recently, so I thought it would make a fun addition to my house. But Rosie said it wasn’t for sale.

Rosie: Eeeeeeeeeeek! No! My sandbag is not for sale at, like, ANY price! There was no rain, so I watered my flowers. Again, no new black roses. Before I ended my day, I went to the city. What a shock…Peaches was there yet again. Has anybody else experienced this, where one animal is in their city almost every day? If so, please leave a comment. I wonder if this is a rare occurrence or if it’s fairly common.
