Egbert Flew the Coop

It’s official: Egbert is gone.

Dear Jeff, It's almost time for me to leave Forest. 'Cause of you, every day I lived here was tons of fun. Thanks for everything! -From EgbertOne interesting thing I realized is that it was around this time last year (February 7) that he first moved into Forest. He couldn’t even stick around for a full year.

Anyway, I carried on with my walk around town. A notice on the bulletin board announced that Festivale is February 11th. That’s next Monday.

~Festivale Notice~ Festivale is February 11th! Get ready to CELEBRATE next week!Yesterday when I played, it was too late to check the emotions available at the theater. So I checked them today.

Emotions at the marquee: Disbelief, Joy, Glee, Sorrow.Back in Forest, I stopped at the spot where Egbert’s house was. Well at least I can replace my path now. Although that’s not much of a consolation.

Me sighing as I see the empty spot where Egbert's house stood. But Del seemed to have a different idea of what happened to Egbert.

Del: Heh... I ate Egbert!! I can feel myself sounding like a nicer person already!Anyway, I watered my flowers and found two new black roses. I decided to shake some trees before I ended my game, but that didn’t turn out so well either.

My 2nd Favorite Villager is Leaving

Today I got my Happy Room Academy letter telling me my HRA score.

Hey! Jeff! Your room earned 103,750 points. Bang! Oh, and hey? Listen. Our model room? Got a theme. It's creativity. Come check it out. -From the HRA. Bang. The mere fact that I got that letter is a mystery. I’m quite sure that I have my settings set to not receive HRA letters. It seems like this has happened a few times since I’ve transferred my town from my Wii to my Wii U. Has anyone else experienced this?

On my way around town, I found out Caroline is sick…and uh…koffing.

Caroline: Hack... Koff koff... Lost my voice... Cuh-can't speak... Sorry... No yolk.So then I went and bought Little Miss Primary Colors some medicine.

Caroline flips upside-down as she takes some medicine.Avery asked me to delivery a package to Robin. It was a daffodil table.

Robin: From Avery? I guess I shouldn't expect anything too tasteful from HIM then, hmm...?Just a couple days ago, I saw a topic on an Animal Crossing forum that asked you to rank your current villagers. I made my list and I had decided that Egbert had moved ahead of Del and had become my 2nd favorite villager.  So that made the following surprise even harder to take.

Egbert: Oh, oh, it's J-bot... I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to take off without saying anything, no yolk!Egbert is packed and ready to move out! He didn’t even tell me! I didn’t have a chance to save him! Ugh!

I wasn’t happy about that bit of news, but I grudgingly trudged along. I then told Avery I completed his delivery for him and he thanked me and gave me a cradle. A cradle?! What is he trying to tell me??

Avery: So, yeah, thanks for your help! It isn't much, but take a cradle as payment, gimme food.I ended up finding one new black rose today. I then finished up my night in Forest.

A Night in Bananas

Today was Groundhog Day, so Tortimer was at town hall, handing out Resetti models.

Tortimer: It's a Resetti model! You can take a good look at it later, sprout! At 10:00, I opened my Bananas gate. Fumiko (formerly known as Maria), Jake, and Matthew (Fumiko’s friend) came over to visit. I had a small patch of land filled with landmines pitfalls. I caught three people in them! Unfortunately, one of them was me.

Jeff and Matthew caught in pitfalls. After a bit, we went to The Roost to watch K.K. perform a song.

The four of us seated in the Roost, as K.K. prepares to sing a song for us.After the song ended, the game got stuck on K.K.’s “You’re a real gone crowd” message. I couldn’t move; I couldn’t do anything.

K.K.: Thank you. You're a real gone crowd.Jake and Matthew were moving around, but Fumiko and I were stuck. I didn’t find out until later, but Fumiko’s batteries had died. So that solved that mystery. But it didn’t take long for another mystery. Shortly after we escaped that, Matthew left town unexpectedly, without saying goodbye or anything. It always seems a bit fishy when people do that.

A bit later, Fumiko asked if her other friend Andy could come. Since no one else had come to fill the empty spot anyway, I agreed. I added him and he came over. We said hi and everything, and within two minutes, he said he had to leave. Again, not sure what to make of that. Oh well. Several minutes after, Megan came over to visit. After a bit, we went to see K.K. perform again.

The four of us seated in the Roost, enjoying a musical performance from K.K. Slider. We also marveled at all of the fish in the Bananas museum. Well the fish in there are all amazingly transparent, so we marveled at the rocks and seaweed instead. What a great museum!

Jeff: That rock rocks. Megan: I like the seaweed. We hung out in my house for a while. Fumiko’s batteries kept dying all night. We figured she must have bought them from Crazy Redd.

Fumiko: I CAN MOVE AGAIN!There were lots of mole crickets out tonight. In fact, we all caught one.

All four of us holding up the mole crickets we caught. We ended up pushing Tortimer to the beach to see if he would return to town hall on his own; he didn’t.

Tortimer trapped on the beach, thanks to holes we dug.And he even started walking in circles. We think he was drunk.

Megan: He doesn't know where he is.We eventually started talking about Mario Kart Wii and how we all had the game. So around 12:35, we decided to all go play some Mario Kart.
