False Hope

Knox’s house is now fully unpacked, and I got to see what it looks like for the first time tonight. It’s very… um… medieval. With a bit of an old west feel too, I wagon reckon.

Knox's house in Animal Crossing: City Folk (ACCF).
I don’t know what I expected.

When I spoke with Kitty, I got excited for a moment. I thought she was going to tell me she was moving…but she just wanted a new catchphrase.

Kitty: Hey, Boy J. I think it's time for me to make a change, I'm awful!
Oh, you’re keeping that catchphrase. Like it or not.

Speaking of false hope, Tiffany gave me some of that too.

Tiffany: I've really been fighting the urge to move out, bunbun...
Don’t fight it.

But she was just telling me she needed to redecorate her house. Bummer.

At the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song. He performed K.K. Folk for me, which may not be my favorite, but it is better than the title suggests. I particularly like the double-howl parts. 😛

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Folk.

And tonight marks exactly 2,000 days since my last night of Wi-Fi online play in Animal Crossing: City Folk. That’s when Nintendo pulled the plug on online play for Wii and original DS games.* That final night was a fun, sad, bittersweet good time. If you’d like, check out that night’s blog entry to relive the fun.

*Yes, I know there are unofficial methods to play those games online now, but I don’t use them, nor do any of my old ACCF friends, as far as I know.

Also, I’ve posted my latest episode of Mario Plays ACCF. This time, Mario participates in Bob’s game show, Purrl asks Mario to give a message to Luigi, and Luigi has a strong reaction to Mushroom’s newest villager. Check it out!

Have a great night, and Never Stop Crossing!

  1. Rip WiFi-Online 🙁
The new, unofficial methods just don’t give the same feel and not everyone uses them. Hopefully the Switch version’s online mode is just as fun as City Folk’s!
