Tonight, Wendy told me she loves digging in the dirt. Not even for fossils or gyroids, but just for the fun of digging! She should work for Resetti.
With it being Saturday night, I headed over to the Roost to catch a performance from K.K. I asked him to play a random song and he played a sad tune for me: K.K. Sonata.
I went from K.K. to Kiki. The black cat in town seems to be enjoying the lazy days of summer.
And when I went in to visit Elmer, I got a surprise. He’s packed up in boxes, ready to move out. 🙁
Even though he mentioned the possibility of leaving last Saturday, he hadn’t said anything about it since. So I thought maybe he had changed his mind but just hadn’t confirmed it; they do that sometimes. It really stinks to lose my favorite villager again. If anyone is going to stick around, it should be Elmer.
I wish Animal Crossing games let you lock in your favorite villager (or three) to keep them around. Because if they expect you to play for hours every day for the rest of your life just to keep your favorite animals in town, that’s not too cool. Especially since losing your favorites gives you even less motivation to keep playing at all. You don’t see Yoshi and Toad abandoning Mario if he doesn’t meet a certain quota of levels played per day. A game shouldn’t punish you for not playing constantly.
Kiki now becomes my new favorite in town, although I also like several other of my current villagers including Lily, Ribbot, and Octavian. I’ll see you all next time.
And since July is here, I did some bug-catching! Lots of rare bugs are available in July and August, especially at night. Here, I was in the process of catching a Hercules beetle.
Elmer asked me to make a delivery to Mallary, so I hunted down the duck. It turns out he gave her a dragon suit! Ha! She didn’t care for it, but I don’t care for her, so I got a laugh out of it.
I returned to Elmer and told him the delivery was complete. He rewarded me with a red tile.
I also changed my town tune into the Xenogears song “Faraway Promise” that I’m also using in New Leaf. Here are the notes if you’re interested:
And when I was ready, I recorded the video. Here is my town tour for 2014…and perhaps my final town tour:
In other news, Elmer told me he was thinking about moving out of town! I told him not to go, but he wouldn’t commit to staying just yet.
And Kiki was talking about how I’ve caught every type of fish. She said she wanted to accomplish that feat too, but she was having some trouble catching them all.
As for other upcoming videos, there will be two Wi-Fi Moments videos yet to come, although they’re still a ways off. The first one, #61, will include a number of old clips that have been in my queue for a while. This will likely be a long episode. And then Wi-Fi Moments #62 will only cover the final night in Forest from May 19th. Stay tuned for both of those.
