Mermaid Statue

After starting up the game, I quickly went to the beach to see Gulliver.

Gulliver: What was I thinking? I should have known better than to get my hopes up like that...My thoughts would soon echo his words. I was, as always, hoping to finally get a Metroid, but it was not to be. He gave me a mermaid statue. Not what I wanted, but at least it wasn’t a duplicate of something I already had.

The mermaid statue as seen in my house. But the worst part is that it doesn’t do anything. It doesn’t try to bite your hand, it doesn’t urinate water, it doesn’t point north. It doesn’t even have a seashell bikini. I ended up dropping it off for Scott’s Gulliver room (not pictured). That room is far from complete, but it does have gadgets and gizmos aplenty. But who cares? No big deal… I want more. I want that Metroid. 😀

3rd Anniversary, UFO, Blue Path

Today is the third anniversary of Animal Crossing: City Folk coming out for the Wii in North America. So happy anniversary! 😛

Today is also Wednesday, which means Crazy Redd has new inventory. So I took the bus to the city to check out his items for this week. He had an amazing machine, a worthy painting, and a robo-bed…nothing I needed or wanted.

An amazing machine, a worthy painting, and a robo-bed for sale at Crazy Redd's shop.Bob was telling me about a dream he had…

Bob: In my right hand, I had a fried ice cream, and in my left hand, I was holding a butter cake...There was no sign of Pete between 5:00 and 5:30, and there were no other visitors, so I knew the UFO would be coming. It had only been one week since the last time, but hey, I’m not complaining. I want that Metroid!

There was no sign of him at 6:02 or 6:07, so I left the game on another hour. But just after 7:02, I saw the UFO headed left on the highest of its three possible paths, so I knew where to run. When it came by, POW! What a nice way to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the game.

Shooting Gulliver's UFO with my slingshot.Check back tomorrow to see which item I get from Gulliver. A little later on, I finally decided to change my orange Halloween path to blue. I had to switch to my seldom-used Guest character, which explains the bed-head, but here is how Forest looks now.

My blue/black path.

Kid Cat and Pumped Up Kicks

As I predicted yesterday, Kid Cat moved into my town today! 🙂 He moved from TZ’s town Hyrule, so he still has the clothes and catchphrase from there. I don’t particularly enjoy being called “MachGirl,” so I’ll be changing that as soon as I get the opportunity.

Kid Cat: I moved here to Forest to mix things up.Talking about Pumped Up Kicks (the song by Foster the People) last night with Skye made me realize I should make that my new town tune. I haven’t changed my town tune in many, many months, so I gave it a go:

Town tune notes for Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People. If you want to hear it, I put up a video of it here.

It’s Saturday night, so that means K.K. is at The Roost. I went to watch him perform…seven songs. Actually I was recording the songs, because I plan to use them in something I have planned for next week.

Sitting in the Roost as K.K. Slider performs.I watered my flowers, and found one new black rose today. I found several mushrooms as well, but again no elegant or rare ones.
