Snooty Squirrel Sighting

On Thursday, I found a new house in town on the western edge of the river (near the waterfall). Inside, I found Pecan the snooty squirrel.

Pecan: What, can't you tell? I just moved here, and now I'm trying to get everything in its proper place!

I’m generally not a big fan of snooties, but I’ll give her a chance. Welcome to Forest, Pecan!

Yesterday, Willow asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek with her, Antonio, and Apollo. She gave me ten minutes to find them, but I found them all within six minutes. Two of them were hiding behind sign posts! 😆

Apollo: Well, pickle and can me! It looks like I've been found.

Willow rewarded me with a mega fizzoid for winning the game.

Today, the June Bug-Off was held. Unfortunately, I played too late in the day to participate. But Nat informed me that Sydney was the big winner. She caught a 56-point diving beetle. Congrats, Sydney!

Nat: The 56-point diving beetle caught by Sydney from right here in Forest.

Big Top has been sick with a cold this week, so I gave him some medicine Thursday, Friday, and today. He tried to trick himself into thinking the medicine tasted good. 😆 Get well soon, B.T.!

Big Top: I used the trick of positive visualization to make this medicine taste like panna cotta!

I went over to the Roost to catch out K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show, and he performed “Mr. K.K.” for me. But my screenshot caught him mid-blink with his eyes closed. 😛

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Mr. K.K..

After the show, I stopped into Pecan’s house for a visit. So I got to see the interior of her house now that she has unpacked. The place looks nice, but it’s kind of irking me to see a toaster just sitting on the floor (with toast in it). 😆

I posted a gameplay video of yesterday’s full session, so check it out if you’d like. I was running into a number of old friends in the city, so it was nice to see them all!

It Wasn’t Late!

I received Tiffany’s goodbye letter in the mail this afternoon. No tears were shed.

To Jeff, I'm moving out of town. I hope we bump into each other in Forest, so I can say good-bye in person! If not...farewell! -From: Tiffany

Scoot asked me to make a delivery to Sydney, and he said it had to be done by 3:00 p.m. Unfortunately, I missed her house on my walk around town. But I still remembered before 3:00, so I ran to her house and gave her the gift (a ceramic tile).

Sydney: Oh, what did you bring me? A gift from Scoot? I wonder what brought this on!

She very clearly had it in her hands as the hourly chime signaled 3:00. In fact, it had been in her hands for a full four seconds! (I’ll include this in a future video to prove it!) But when I returned to Scoot, he acted like I didn’t deliver it on time!

Scoot: You sure took your sweet time! I almost completely forgot about it.

Not only was he rude about it, but he didn’t give me a reward! So I gave him a few whacks with my net.

Anyway, I played again later tonight to check out K.K. Slider’s show. I asked him for a random song, and he performed “Cafe K.K.” for me. While it’s never necessarily been one of my favorites, is it starting to feel a bit nostalgic to me. It’s not a bad tune.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Cafe K.K..

Willow lost her key and she was locked out, so I helped out by finding her key in the river.

I caught a key! ...Whose key is this?

When I took it back to her, she rewarded me with a doghouse. I wonder if that was her backup plan if she couldn’t get back in? Just sleep in the doghouse instead. 😆

Willow: Ah! I almost forgot about this! Please take this doghouse!

I did a bit of a practice run for my summer bug hunt nights. But tonight, I was mainly just looking for sharks as I went back and forth along the shore. I never did find one, but I did catch a few emperor butterflies. Just a bit more than two weeks until the real bug hunt begins!

A Fish Called Frog

Yesterday, I went over to the Happy Room Academy headquarters in the city. Lyle told me that my current house score is 113,873 points. He also talked about my harvest festival room, which is the current model room…and the highest-scoring room. But despite that…he wasn’t a fan of the turkey stuff. 😛

Lyle: Not really Lyle's taste. Not that you care. Buncha turkeys? Feathers and junk? What they hey, right?

Felicity asked me for a new catchphrase, and I told her to say “it’s green.” Hopefully it will pay off at some point.

Felicity: Yessss! I can feel a new flame burning inside me! It's green! It's green!

Today, Apollo was telling me about the benefits of daytime naps. Sounds good to me too!

Apollo: I've been a firm believer in midday naps all my life.

When I visited Tiffany, I was surprised to see that she was already packed up to leave town!

Tiffany: Well...you're right on time, aren't you? To see me all sweaty and gross!

And I’m not bothered by that one bit. Not only is she my least favorite (current) villager in town, but her house is practically right on the beach. I prefer if those spots can be empty in summer, so they don’t obstruct my view for summer bug hunts. Bye, Tiffany!

Scoot asked me if I’ve heard of a fish called a frog. 😆 You mean like the one on the shirt you wear half the time?

Scoot: Yo, J-boo! You ever hear of a fish called a frog?
Amphibian, but yes, I’m vaguely familiar with frogs. 🐸

It didn’t take me long to find one, but Scoot didn’t entirely seem convinced that the frog I caught was real! He asked if it was rubber or something!

Scoot: A frog! Is this for real, J-boo? It isn't like rubber or anything?

But he still accepted the frog, and he rewarded me with a screen.

Cube asked if I had just eaten waffles, and I said no. He acted surprised because he said I’m a “waffler.” 🧇 I think I’m insulted by that.

Cube: I was sure that a waffler like you'd be chowing down on 'em morning, noon, and night...

Over at town hall, I found a white boom box in the gray recycle box. 😛
