Tank’s Pic, Fireworks

The fireworks festival was held tonight, and Tortimer was standing outside of town hall for the occasion. When I spoke with him, he gave me a sparkler. I promptly set it off and watched the mini-explosions. Even Filbert came over to watch.

Setting off a sparkler as Filbert and Tortimer watch.

Well actually, Filbert was only standing there because he wanted me to buy his gold armor suit from him. 😛

Filbert: Want to buy my gold armor suit for 790 bells.

I asked him to give me “the buddy price,” but he declined my counter-offer. He said he would just sell it at the shop. 🤷

Eloise has still been sick this week, so I gave her some more medicine Thursday, yesterday, and again today. She suggested that she was feeling better, but I’ll believe it when I see it. These things drag on forever in this game.

Tank pinged me, and then surprised me by giving me his photo! I was not expecting this! Thanks, Tank!

Tank: I'm not gonna get misty about it...but I AM gonna give you my photo!

I took Tank’s pic home and put it in my mush room. Surprisingly, I had room to place it down, even if it is in a horribly awkward spot.

His favorite quote on the back is “Remember to keep your core muscles engaged!” Yeah, we get it, you’re a jock. 😛

I found a lovely loveseat in the recycle bin at town hall. I know Bones has been asking me for lovely furniture lately, so maybe I’ll save it for him. I couldn’t get him to talk about anything other than fireworks tonight though, so that will have to wait until next week.

And speaking of the fireworks again, of course I took a few moments to watch them…and take in the atmosphere of the event. 🎆

The fireworks of the fireworks festival.

I hope you all enjoy fireworks season in the Animal Crossing games this month! Make sure to enjoy the summer while it’s still here! 🙂

New Pig’s Secret Plan

Yesterday, I received my monthly bank statement from town hall. I received 61,700 bells of interest for this past month. 💰

I found a new house where Peanut recently lived (on the beach at the eastern wall). So Dotty’s replacement has moved in, and my new neighbor is…Truffles the pig.

Truffles: Hi there! I'm Truffles!

She’s definitely not the cutest villager around, but she seems nice so far.

Octavian pinged me and said we should have a secret-friend password. He suggested that I say “freaky,” and he responds with “sasquatch.”

Octavian: Like you say, freaky, and I say sasquatch...

I guess I wasn’t fully paying attention, because I thought he was asking for a catchphrase, not a greeting. So I told him to say “freaky,” since I thought that was one of his suggestions…and he said it sounded weird to him. 😆

Octavian: Freaky! ...Whoa. Sounds kinda weird to me.
Well you suggested it! Even if it was supposed to be my line, not yours.

Today, I visited Truffles and she reminded me that the first fireworks festival of the year is tomorrow night.

Truffles: Tomorrow! The Fireworks Show is TOMORROW, snoutie!

Wild World actually has five fireworks festivals this year! Unfortunately, the later games only have four again (since there are only four Sundays in August this year, but five Saturdays).

Anyway, Truffles told me her secret plan to get close to cute boys during the show. She said that since the fireworks are so loud, she can’t hear what the boy is saying…so she has a good excuse to scoot closer and closer.

Truffles: So, you scoot a li'l closer to him. And a li'l closer...

Consequently, I don’t plan on playing this weekend. 😆 She’ll have to scoot closer to someone else. 😛

Eloise is my latest villager to get sick with a cold, so I gave her a dose of medicine. Get well soon!

At town hall, I found a blue table in the recycle bin.

Have you ever thought about what Wild World has in common with each of the other Animal Crossing games? It has the most in common with City Folk, of course, but it also has some co-exclusive features with the other games too. Please check out my latest video, which is my 1,000th Youtube video, to find out more:

I’ll be back with another entry next week. Have a great weekend, and Never Stop Crossing!

Sore Loser

Yesterday, I was surprised to find a goodbye letter from Dotty in the mail. She moved out without warning.

Dearest Jeff, I've moved! Yeah, this lame town was TOTALLY cramping my style. I'll see you around! Bye! -From Dotty

She lived in Forest for just over a year. I didn’t really want her to leave, but reading her goodbye letter made me not mind so much. 😛

By the shore, I found Pascal. He was telling me about the crazy things people do at the beach…like use metal detectors.

Pascal: People, maaannn. They do the craziest stuff at the beach.
Pascal: One time, I saw this dude waving this metal stick over the ground.

Pascal then handed me a barrel, and jumped into the ocean.

Eloise wanted to compete to see who could catch a darner dragonfly first, and I was up to the challenge. Eloise swore she’d never lose to “a loser” like me.

Eloise: Tee hee! I'll never lose to a loser like you!

Except that she did lose. She took my dragonfly and rewarded me with a regal wall. She blamed her loss on her absence of opposable thumbs. 🙄

Eloise: I lost to you?! Those opposable thumbs you have really help, huh?

I caught a flea that was on Drift, and he did not seem to appreciate it.

Drift: Hey! What did you do that for, huh? I coulda handled it myself!

Over at town hall, I found a gold armor suit in the recycle bin.

Today, I saw what looked like a shark fin in the water. But the fin actually belonged to an ocean sunfish instead. They’re not worth as much as sharks, but it’s still satisfying to pull a fish this big out of the water.

I caught an ocean sunfish! Don't look directly at it!

Caroline came down with a cold, so I gave her some medicine yesterday and again today. Get well soon, Caroline!

Caroline: Ahhh... I can feel all the toxins draining from my body.

I spotted a birdwing (butterfly) near the beach, but it seemed to fly out over the ocean before I could catch it. I tried walking back and forth along the shore to look for it, but then I spotted a banded dragonfly! I chased it down, but I lost it when it flew into a group of trees. It’s disappointing to lose two rare bugs back-to-back like that. But at least I caught that ocean sunfish, I suppose.

See you next week!
