Record Breaking Bones

Today, Goose informed me that Bob and Peanut were currently fighting. Goose thinks it’s because Bob stole some of Peanut’s flowers!

Goose: I'll bet it's because Bob stole some of Peanut's flowers!

I doubt there’s any truth to that, bud. 😛

I found a new house in town, and I was pleasantly surprised to find my buddy Bones inside!

Bones: Hello. My name is Bones, yip yip.

Bones and Butch in the same town? Pretty awesome! They’re two of my favorite dogs in the whole series (along with Goldie, of course). But the addition of Bones has more significance than just that: Bones is now the first villager that I’ve had in all five main Animal Crossing games! All five versions of Forest have had Bones at some point!

Bones currently lives in this town and in New Horizons. In City Folk, he moved out just last year. He lived in my New Leaf and GameCube as recently as late 2018. So he’s been in all five towns in under four years!

Over behind town hall, Goose and Olivia were having a conversation. Olivia asked if he was good at lifting things, and Goose bragged that he was the strongest guy in town. 😛

Goose: Yeah, I'm pretty much the beefiest dude in Forest, oh cluck!
I seriously doubt that, especially coming from a chicken.

Olivia then asked if he was good at mindlessly following directions like a robot. Goose proudly said yes. 😂

Olivia: Excellent. And are you good at mindlessly following directions, it's a lie?

So Olivia told him to come move some furniture…and even her entire house! The funniest part is that she called him a “manbot.” 🤖 Actually, I think that would make him a robot chicken.

Olivia: And while you're at it, manbot, just pick up and move the whole house.

Hugh’s Mistake

On Monday, I was disappointed to find a goodbye letter from Hugh in the mail. 🙁

So, Jeff... I can't believe I'm moving! Sorry, but I need to move someplace with a 24-hour buffet! See ya! -Yours, Hugh
He always did like to pig out.

Not many villagers have grown on me as much as Hugh did. When he moved into Forest just five months ago, I was very neutral towards him. But I started to like him more and more, and he had become my third-favorite villager in town (behind just Bob and Butch). I’m sad to see him go. He’s made a hugh huge mistake by leaving town. 😛

Peanut asked me for a new catchphrase, and I told her to say “nutty.”

Peanut: Nutty! Nutty! Nutty! Nutty!

Today, Saharah was in town (on hump day, no less), and she wanted me to make some deliveries for her.

Saharah: All my addresses...gone! My deliveries!

I delivered packages to Pelly (for Phyllis), Blathers, and Tom Nook. Even though three deliveries is more than the two she normally asks for, it was made easier because of where she was standing. If you imagine a triangle connecting town hall, the museum, and Nookington’s, she was pretty much right in the center. So all three deliveries were extremely short walks.

Blathers: Hoo! Indeed, hootie hoo! I shall hazard a guess... From Saharah, eh wot?

When I was done, Saharah offered me a tropical vista or a sandlot. I chose the wallpaper.

Throwing a Curveball

I wished on a shooting star Wednesday night, and Wishy sent me a baby panda in the mail on Thursday. 🐼

I’ve been catching some good summer bugs lately, like the atlas beetle and this rainbow stag.

The seven colors are so bright, I better put on some shades!
But I’m already wearing shades!

Olivia has been sick with a cold this week, so I gave her some medicine on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. She appreciated it…I think.

Olivia: You look like an angel, it's a lie.

She was over her cold by today. She thanked me for the medicine by giving me a classic chair.

This afternoon, I found a note in a bottle on the beach. It was written by someone who wants to be a baseball player, to a “Helpful Hint Guy.” He wanted to know how to throw a curveball. ⚾

Dear Helpful Hint Guy, I can't throw a curveball. If I wanna throw a curveball like a pro, what do I need to do? -Signed, Weak and Flabby

Even if the helpful hint guy did get the note (spoiler alert: he didn’t), that might be a hard thing to explain in a note.

Another popular summertime activity, fishing, was represented on a new “Talking to Myself” post on the bulletin board. Except the author only complained about how boring it is!

-Talking to Myself- Sitting on a hot wharf... gazing into nothingness... Fishing is boring! I just don't get it!
This totally sounds like Phyllis, not Pelly.

Butch asked me for a fossil, so I gave him an iguanodon tail I dug up. He loved it, and he put it up almost immediately. (I just had to leave and re-enter his house to see it.) It didn’t exactly line up with his other fossil, but oh well. 😛

Butch's fossils.

He rewarded me with a scarecrow.
