Hide-and-Seek Tours

When I came out of my house today, I noticed I had a second black rose.

My 2nd black rose!As I began my walk around town, I soon spotted Tabby. She asked me for a new greeting. So I had her say “hurt me plenty.”

Tabby: Hurt me plenty! Want to talk, killer?I had a gem rock today, and it gave me two gold nuggets. I also had one in storage, so I took the three of them to Cyrus to have them made into golden furniture.

Sadly, I haven’t been able to work at the cafe yesterday or today, due to town events (the Bug-Off yesterday and fireworks festival today). But I still have a bunch of superb coffee beans for sale in Re-Tail. The animals haven’t been going in there lately to buy them!

Jeff, in Re-Tail: BUY MY BEANS!Back outside, Teddy asked me about Wendy. He said the next time I hang out with her, the three of us should lift weights together. Awkward…

Teddy: Next time you guys hang out, bring me along! We can lift some weights together!I went up to Main Street and saw Gabi again. GO AWAY! I think I need to get a restraining order.

Gabi: Oh, it's YOU, Jeff! I made the trip back here just to run around. So good to see you!And when I talked to Benedict, he suggested a new public works project: A pile of pipes…

Benedict: Last night, I dreamed there was a pile of pipes in town. Now I can't stop thinking about it...Town hall was closed, so I couldn’t get a picture of it. But it sounds really exciting.

A bit later, I saw Tabby again. She was infested with fleas. I caught one of her little “friends” and she begged me not to tell Rolf.

Tabby: Please, please, please! Don't tell anyone about this! Especially Rolf!
Him?

At 7:00, I opened my gate for the fireworks festival. Wendy and Tom41 came over to visit. Tom set off a bunch of fountain fireworks all at once. It was really cool, but unfortunately they don’t last nearly long enough.

A bunch of fountain fireworks going off at once.Several fountain fireworks going off at once.I let him use the garbage can in my house to dispose of them without having to pay Reese. He also showed me how fountain fireworks can be buried in the ground without igniting. Because if you just set one on the ground, it will automatically go off. After that, I went to see Isabelle to get my new bopper for this week. She gave me a flower bopper.

Me wearing the flower bopper while standing between Wendy and Isabelle. We went to my house and I remembered that Nook expanded my back room. It’s not so cramped in there any more.

My newly expanded back room.I joked that the flower bopper made me look a bit like a Pikmin.

Jeff, wearing a flower bopper: I look like a Pikmin...Jeff: But don't pluck me.Tom left after a little while, but Wendy and I went to the bridge to watch the fireworks. I’ve always thought bridges make great places to watch the sky in Animal Crossing games.

Watching the fireworks with Wendy at the fireworks festival. After watching them for a while, we decided to go out to the island.

Heading out to the island on Kapp'n's boat as fireworks go off in the sky.The island had hide-and-seek tours again! So we played several of them. Even though we successfully completed all the tours we did, we probably need to come up with a better strategy so we’re not covering the same areas.

Lobo: Dude, Wendy already found me, all right?! I guess you were pretty close, though! Ah-rooooo!But one other cool thing about the hide-and-seek tours is that the towns have public works projects. I had to stop at the Moai statue for a picture. I knew the tours took place on an island, but I didn’t know it was Easter Island!

A Moai statue (from Easter Island) seen on hide-and-seek tour in New Leaf. But then I saw the Sphinx. Now I’m all sorts of confused. Maybe we’re all in Las Vegas.

A Sphinx PWP I encountered on an island tour. After doing four hide-and-seek tours, we returned home and I ended the party. I later returned to Re-Tail to get my golden furniture back from Cyrus. This time, he made me a golden bench.

Take home the golden bench? That’s all for today, but I’ll be back with more tomorrow!
