Big Top is on a roll lately, and he continued his hot streak today. For the third day in a row, Big Top has suggested a new public works project! Today, he suggested a jungle gym!
As I made my way around town, I noticed there was a tent at the campsite; Teddy was the camper. I’ve had him in my GameCube town before, but it looks like he’s put on some weight since then.

I’ve always liked Teddy though, so we played a game to determine if he would move in or not. By the emotions he used, I had to figure out that he was saying he could get surprised on a mountain by an avalanche. I got it right, so he will be moving into Forest soon.
Apparently, I left my money bags out on the ground after hitting the money rock yesterday. My pockets were full at the time and I forgot to go back for them. So this meant that today, I had two money rocks’ worth of money to pick up. This helped me pay off my lighthouse quicker than I thought I’d be able to. It will be complete tomorrow!
For the past two weeks, I had been seeing my former villager Harry up on Main Street. I was a bit tired of seeing him every day. But I tried not to complain too much, since it could always be worse. And today, it got worse. Harry wasn’t on Main Street, but another former villager was. It was Gabi! Ahhh!
I quickly escaped into the garden shop part of T.I.Y. I bought a sapling, and when I did, Leif informed me that it came with a bonus!
That’s right, I now have a golden axe that will never break!
Before wrapping up my day, I also went into the Able Sisters. I saw a mint gingham tee and bought it. It’s something I used to wear on GameCube sometimes, and besides, my flame shirt is too hot for August. I don’t need sleeves this time of year.
Be sure to check back tomorrow to see my new lighthouse! If you’d like to be notified when I post new blog entries, you can follow me on Twitter or like me on Facebook. Also, I sometimes post some of my best New Leaf pictures on Tumblr and Pinterest. On those sites, you can usually click on a picture I posted, and it will take you to that day’s blog entry.
And today, my perfect peach tree bore fruit. More perfect peaches.
I planted them all. So hopefully in a few days, I’ll have four perfect peach trees.
As for our goodbye, it was weird.
But Big Top is becoming quite the villager. Not only did he inform me of Rory’s decision days before Rory did, but he suggested the lighthouse project yesterday. And if that wasn’t enough, he suggested another public works project today! It was a stone tablet.
Sounded pretty good. At least until I went to see what it looked like.
I just have one question about it: WHAT IS IT? “Stone tablet” isn’t quite accurate enough. It reminds me of a melting clock, but I could also see it as a giant dinosaur egg with rainbow graffiti on it. Whatever it is, I sure don’t want it in my town. Well I suppose I could put Tabby in front of it and use it as a dart board…
I made a big payment towards the lighthouse, but it still needs around 97,000 more bells. So I’ll be able to pay it off in two or three days. Anyway, that’s all for tonight but I’ll be back tomorrow with more!
Then today, I got a letter in the mail from Wishy. He sent me a vintage radio. That’s not what I wished for, but thanks.
One interesting note about the vintage radio: It’s not a regular music player; in fact, it plays the audio of whatever is on TV at the time.
Of course that meant that Nook completed construction on my new room. As for the wall-mounted monitor that had been on that wall, it was already installed in my new room.
I went outside and Big Top wanted to talk to me. He suggested a new public works project: The lighthouse! I’ve been wanting a lighthouse for a long time, and I already know where I’m going to put it.
Then I ran into Tabby, who asked if I needed her for anything. No.
I wanted to start the lighthouse right away, but town hall was closed for the day (due to the fireworks festival tonight).
You’re telling me the mayor doesn’t even have a key for town hall? When Tortimer was mayor, he slept in there 24/7, but can I even step foot into my own office? Noooooo.
I put it in my house (to let it cool, of course).
But I also thought I’d check the status of the pumpkin pie in the Nooklings’ catalog. Unfortunately, it can not be ordered! First the shaved-ice lamp, and now this. Not cool, Nintendo!
And last but not least, I headed over to the museum. I got my robust statue in the mail from Crazy Redd today, so I was pleased to find out it was a real work of art. I donated it to the collection.
Also, I want to share a video tour of my house that I made yesterday. Check it out and let me know what you think!
