Groundhog Day

Late last night (after midnight), I started up the game and Tortimer was there, just waiting to scold me for not taking care of the lighthouse.

Tortimer: How could you? I'm disappointed in you. You deserve no present.Jerk! I didn’t drop the ball, you dropped your own ball, you old fart! I told you I didn’t want to do it!

Later on, it was time for the Groundhog Day festivities.

Everyone... Groundhog Day festivities are about to begin!Tortimer was at the wishing well and couldn’t remember his story.

Tortimer: Today, the Groundhog Fairy hands out groundhogs. Wait, what's the story again? At 8:00 a.m., Resetti popped up out of the ground.

Resetti: Hey! I got no shadow! He didn’t see his shadow, so that means spring is coming soon!

Resetti: That means spring's comin' on fast!Of course it doesn’t mean anything in reality, and even Tortimer knew Resetti was full of it.

Tortimer: Resetti doesn't have the foggiest clue what he's talking about.Tortimer then said he bribed Resetti to say it. So why would he say Resetti didn’t have a clue what he was talking about? I think Tortimer is the one without the foggiest clue.

Tortimer: Those 20 bells I bribed Resetti with sure did their work!Anyway, if you go back to the wishing well later in the day, Tortimer will give you a flower model (but only one time). He didn’t give me one, so I apparently got mine years ago. (I got the other flower models by trading with people). But even though I got my flower model in a previous year, this was my first time attending the 8 a.m. Resetti appearance.

Later on, I went into an igloo and Ursala wanted me to play a game where I had a 50% chance of buying a tea room wall from her for 3,000 bells. Uh, no thanks.

Ursala: You don't want to? You sniveling coward! And on that pleasant note, I ended my day in Forest.

Here is my video of the Groundhog Day festival:
