No Moths in Rain

Purrl asked me to make a rush delivery to Goldie in the rain tonight. She sent Goldie a poncho.

Goldie: Oh, is that what I think it is? A poncho? Well, it's a sweet gesture. I guess I should accept!

I returned to Purrl, and she gave me a ceramic tile for making the delivery.

My newest resident Wolfgang is just now learning that I’m a night owl like he is. But then again, all villagers are kinda night owls in City Folk.

Wolfgang: Jeff! You still up? Nice to see that Blathers and I aren't the only night owls, snarrrl!

When I visited Violet, she seemed to think that moths are the greatest fashion accessory around!

Violet: Anyone who's ANYONE has a moth! These bug fashions creep past so fast, it's hard to keep up!

She asked me to catch one for her, and I thought it would be easy. And on most summer nights, it would indeed be easy…very easy. But since it was raining tonight, the rain seemed to keep the moths away. So I was unable to fulfill her request.

I headed down to the Roost to check out K.K.’s Saturday night performance. I let him pick the song, and he played Imperial K.K. for me.

K.K. Slider performs in the Roost in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

After looping around town, I ran into Purrl again. She said that lots of people wonder how she affords her “posh lifestyle” (her words), and she let me in on her secret: Turnips.

Purrl: One word...turnips! Yes, I made a killing in the turnip market, and now I just live off the high profits!

So she’s basically the opposite of me. I hardly ever trade turnips in Animal Crossing games. Well it’s partly because I rarely play on Sunday mornings to buy them, but also because it’s a lot of work to keep checking prices, and there’s always a decent chance you’ll end up losing money. I usually stick to fruit, bugs, and fish.

Welcoming Wolfgang

I visited Purrl tonight, and she asked what I noticed first as I came through her door. I actually noticed her shirt first, but that wasn’t an option, so I said it was her. That made her feel really happy. 😛

Purrl: And I look even better when I'm appreciated!
I appreciate you, Purrl! 🙂

Kitty was outside, walking around with a watering can. She told me that she waters wilted flowers whenever she can. That’s a lie, but okay, sure, Kitty.

Kitty: I can't bear to see withered flowers, so I water them whenever I get a chance.

There was a new house in the spot where Static lived, so I went inside to investigate. Wolfgang the wolf was inside. He’s a cranky guy, but I guess he seems okay so far.

Wolfgang: My name's Wolfgang. If the boxes didn't give it away, I just moved into town today.

I headed down to the Roost to check out the Saturday night show. I asked K.K. Slider for a random song, and he performed K.K. Calypso for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Calypso.

After the show, Goldie asked me for some white furniture. Nook ‘n’ Go didn’t have anything white, and neither did the lost and found. So I took the bus out to the city, and I saw that Crazy Redd had a dice stereo for sale. It cost 4,300 bells, but my favorite villager Goldie is worth it. I bought it and took it back to her, and she loved it!

Goldie: You know, this is exactly as white as I'd hoped it would be!

She gave me a common floor to thank me. Not the best reward, but the true reward is her friendship. (Okay, that’s super corny, but I just lost Static, so let me be corny). 😛 🌽

Stylish Cereal Spills

I received Static’s goodbye letter in the mail today. 🙁

Jeff, Thanks for being here for me. I'm a better animal for knowing you. I'm leaving Forest behind, but I'll be thinking of you in my new home! -Your pal, Static

That letter was a keeper, so I went over to the post office to save it. Apparently the last letter I saved was Savannah’s goodbye letter, which was from three years ago this week. Those two letters are apparently the only letters I’ve saved in the post office since online play officially ended in 2014.

That got me thinking about my current villagers. Goldie now takes over the top spot as my favorite villager, followed by Puck and Bones. Purrl and Punchy are in the next group, and that made me realize that I have three villagers whose names start with PU. 😛

I have four villagers I dislike: Lucy, Rasher, Kitty, and Violet.

Anyway, I listened in on a conversation between Lucy and Puck. They were talking about having a picnic, and Puck didn’t want any healthy food there. Lucy suggested she could bring some lemon tea…sounds good to me!

Lucy: What if I bring a cooler full of lemon tea? It's just the thing for a picnic, I've always said!

Puck agreed with the idea too, although he said it would be even better if Lucy poured the tea into batter and then deep-fried it. I don’t think that would work out very well, but okay. 🍋

I visited Violet, and she was sick with a cold. And yet Rasher seemed to be feeling under the weather too.

Rasher: I should wash my hands more. And eat healthier. And drink plenty of hot cider.

At Purrl’s request, I delivered a black pawn over to Lucy. When I returned to Purrl, she gave me a Persian wall as thanks. Since Lucy was still standing nearby, I spoke with her again. She left out Purrl’s name when she said this:

Lucy: owes you big-time, if you ask me. Thanks again, lone bone!

Purrl complimented Punchy, saying the tiny spots on his clothes were “dazzling.” Punchy said that it was just his breakfast cereal that he spilled on himself. It turned out that Purrl already knew…but she was complimenting him on how he spilled the cereal so fashionably.

Purrl: I was complimenting the stylish way you spilled on yourself!

I bought some medicine at Nook ‘n’ Go and took it back to Violet. Get well soon, gorilla.

Violet takes her medicine from Jeff in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

I recently posted a new ACCF video, City Folk Moments #10! Here it is if you haven’t watched it yet:
