Midge’s Mosquito

Last Friday, Midge told me that Static helped her decide that she needs a pet mosquito. Hahaha, he trolled you, Midge.

Midge: I was talking to Static, and we decided it was a great idea for me to get a pet mosquito!

I pitfalled Tabby because…well, it’s just what I do.

Tabby struggles in a pitfall in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Tonight, Midge asked me to join in a game of hide-and-seek. Even though she disguised it as an exercise program…

Midge: I shouldn't get suckered in by fad workouts. I've really been into the hide-and-seek exercise program...

She gave me ten minutes to find her, Drift, and Maple. About 30 seconds into the game, I found Midge hiding behind a tree. She told me I still needed to find two other people…

Midge: Keep trying to find the other two people hiding, buzz off!
I think I have a good idea where one of them is…

Drift was also right there, so I was making quick progress. Maple took me a bit longer to find (she was behind the empty house by the river). But I still finished with four and a half minutes remaining. Midge congratulated me for winning the game, and she gave me a quazoid as my prize.

Midge: Well, it looks like I have a present for today's winner! Here it is! A brand-new quazoid.
By brand-new, do you mean freshly dug up out of the ground? Because that’s not exactly brand new…

There was a new house in town, so I went inside to meet Samson’s replacement: Drake the duck.

Drake: Eep! My place still isn't ready, and neither am I! I'm Drake, and I just moved here today.

Pascal was standing on one of the bridges in town, and I gave him a scallop. In return, he handed over a ship cannon. He also uttered some words of wisdom:

Pascal: Life is just what you dream when you're dreaming, maaan.

Kitty was sick with a cold, so I bought some medicine for her.

After I was done in Forest, I checked in my other town of Bananas (version 3.0, which I made two years ago). I mainly just wanted to see what villagers lived there now. They are: Tiffany, Peanut, Moose, Rasher, Caroline, Margie, Apollo, Gwen, Iggly, and…Drake. So I have Drake in both towns. 😛 I won’t be playing in Bananas very often though. But I did have a little chat with Iggly…for a video I’m working on.

I’ll see you next time. Have a great day!

Samson Leaves, Bugs Arrive

On Wednesday, I saw Tabby and I said hello to her. With my net. So she called me a Neanderthal.

Tabby: OUCHERS! You are SUCH a Neanderthal! Why don't you go, like, make some stone tools or whatever?

At Able Sisters, I bought a dragon suit and put it on. When I visited Samson’s house nearby, I saw that he had all his belongings packed up in boxes! He’s moving away.

Samson: I decided to ake my awesomeness on tour, and I was bummed I wouldn't be able to say bye to people.

Clyde thanked me for the medicine I gave him recently. He then gave me a kiddie couch for my trouble.

Over by the town fountain, Midge gave me a blue tie-dye shirt. I may have worn it, if I hadn’t just bought some new clothes. 😛 Maybe another time, bird brain.

Today, I got Samson’s goodbye letter in the mail.

Yo, Jeff, It's time for me to bail on Forest and take these biceps on tour! They're just too big for one town. Don't worry, you'll see 'em again! Peace! -Samson

I also received a punny letter from Mom. Interestingly, she used the same stationery as Samson.

Dear Jeff, Your dad went fishing the other day, and the freezer is packed to the gills with fish! HA HA HA! See what I did there? -Mom

According to Clyde, I missed out on a big fight. Midge and Tabby were throwing coffee in each other’s faces, and slapping each other. Wow! I really wish I could have seen that! (Go Midge, Go Midge!)

When I visited Static, he asked me to toss a good shark his way! Wow. Would you like a golden throne while I’m at it? Keep dreaming, squirrel.

Static: Do you mind tossing a good shark my way, buzz off?

I spoke with Opal, and she told me she always rolls around in flower petals on Sundays. She’s an odd one.

Opal: I always roll around in flower petals on Sunday.

Later on, I went bug hunting. July is here now, so all of the valuable summer bugs are out now. I caught an elephant beetle, a tarantula, a scorpion, a couple of goliath beetles, a couple of cyclommatus beetles, and more. I earned about 70,000 bells from the bugs I caught.

I caught a cyclommatus! Aw, it's so pretty!

Static, not content to just ask me for a shark, also wanted the goliath beetle in my pockets! He only offered me a gelato shirt for it! Go away, greedy squirrel.

Static: J-boo! Where did you get that excellent goliath beetle in your pocket? And can I have it?

The bug season is just beginning, so I’ll be sure to have more bug-catching nights over the next two months. If you’ll be doing the same, good luck on your bug hunts! And I’ll see you all next time. 🙂

Pitfall Beach Party

Last week, I made a new pattern showing some party balloons. I also converted it to a QR code for use in New Leaf and Happy Home Designer, so you can use it in those game if you’d like. Just see my QR Codes page.

Yesterday, the clouds finally disappeared (for a day, at least), and I put my plan into motion. Tabby was right outside her house, so I started by trapping her there. My play was to have a pitfall beach party, so Tabby’s house was a good starting point. Maple walked by a minute later, so I squeezed her in too.

Next, I saw Static near town hall. He asked me for a new greeting; I told him to say “Trapped!” because I knew it would soon be very appropriate. After that, I started pushing him towards the party area. He was putting up quite a fight, though. When I saw Midge walk by, I had to give up on Static for a moment. I got Midge in the area rather easily, then I went back to work on Static.

It took longer than I liked, but I eventually included Static in the fun. The only other outdoor villager was Samson. I nearly had him pushed into the area, when I accidentally filled in the wrong hole. Static and Tabby nearly got out, so I had to focus on keeping them in. Although Samson got away for a bit, I eventually got him in.

In all, it took about 35 minutes just to trap everyone.

Static: Trapped!

With that out of the way, it was time to plant some pitfall seeds. Of course, this is always bound to happen…

Jeff, struggling to get out of a pitfall.

I left a safe strip down the middle of the party area, where I could peacefully observe the fun. At least, that was the idea.

Once I was done, I wanted all the villagers to go to the beach (to the south). However, they were having a great time at the party…just at the north end of the area. In fact, they didn’t want to leave!

Happy villagers trying to walk north.

They were so insistent about staying to the north that I had to take matters into my own hands. I had to push them to open up and truly enjoy themselves. And I joined in, too.

Tabby, Jeff, and Static in pitfalls.

They all needed a push, but we all had a good time. Whether they liked it or not. 😛

Here is a video of yesterday’s events:

I played City Folk again tonight, and the flea market was underway…although I didn’t really participate. I cleaned up some of the leftover party mess (used balloons on the ground around Tabby’s house), and I also took Clyde some more medicine.

Have a great day, and I’ll see you next time. I hope you enjoyed the video!
