Champ Moves In, ACCF Turns 9

When I started up the game today, I saw that I had a new next-door neighbor! Just like I predicted last time, that spot didn’t stay empty for long. I went inside and met my newest neighbor Champ the monkey. I like him already. 🙂

Champ: WHOA! You must be one of my new Forest neighbors!Tangy, who also lives nearby (just a bit to the south, near the windmill) was sick with a cold today. She must not be eating enough Vitamin C! I bought some medicine for her. Get well soon, Tangy!

Tangy takes some medicine in Animal Crossing: City Folk.
Orange you glad I brought you medicine?

Dotty asked me to make a delivery to Samson, and I agreed to help out. After I told Samson he had a gift from Dotty, he had a big cheesy smile on his face.

Samson, smiling widely: Huh? It's from Dotty? The gift was a fire hydrant. Seems more apt for a dog than a mouse, but Samson seemed to enjoy it. With the delivery a splashing success, I returned to Dotty. She rewarded me a pastel-dot wall.

After making my rounds, I rode the bus out to the city. I decided to make a rare visit to Katrina the fortune teller. After dropping a bucket on my head, she told me something bad may or may not be in my future. So it was just a neutral fortune.

A bucket drops on my head as Katrina prepares to tell me my fortune in Animal Crossing: City Folk. Even though Halloween is over, I spotted Tabby in the city. She told me how she followed a girl back to her bus. I guess Tabby is creepy in more ways than one.

Tabby: And of course, I was all, like, "Where is SHE from," so I kinda followed her to the bus.And today is the 9th anniversary of Animal Crossing: City Folk! It came out on November 16, 2008. Here is my annual slideshow of ACCF pics.

An Unplanned Nap

Groucho has finally moved out of town. I got his goodbye letter in the mail today.

Jeff, I've made up my mind to move out of Forest. This place is great, and I'm gonna be sad to leave it, but it's time to move on! Keep your ears clean, kid! -GrouchoIf you notice the dirt in the lower-left corner of that picture, that’s the spot where his house was. If history is any indication, that spot won’t stay empty for very long. There almost always seems to be someone living there.

Over by town hall, I ran into Dotty. She was fangirling over Phyllis, of all people!

Dotty: You know who runs the night shift, right? Ohmigosh, Phyllis is just SO awesome!
Her?

In Samson’s house, I noticed he had two watermelon chairs (well, one was a melon chair) arranged back to back. Who sits like that? Other than competing contestants on a game show or something.

Two melon chairs back to back in Samson's house. After a quick chat with Benedict in his house, I was heading back outside. Since his house was kinda cluttered, I decided to take a shortcut by hopping on his bed. But as soon as my character jumped into the bed, my batteries died! I guess my character really wanted to keep sleeping there!

My batteries die as I jump into Benedict's bed.I had to swap out my batteries before I could wake up from my nap. 😛

Nan asked me for a fossil, so I gave her the only one I dug up today: an iguanodon tail. You never get equal value when you give a villager a fossil, but I was trying to be nice for a change. But even with lowered expectations for my reward, I was still a bit disappointed. She gave me a garbage pail! Garbage for a fossil?! Come on!

Nan: Skippy, I have just the perfect thing for you. It's a garbage pail! Please accept it with my thanks!Back outside, I caught a flea that was on Tangy. I then took a quick bus trip to the city before ending my session.

Next week is the 9th anniversary of Animal Crossing: City Folk! Isn’t it hard to believe it’s been nine years? I may or may not have my annual slideshow ready by then, but I will at least be back with another blog entry. See you then!

Getting Mushy

When I visited Dotty today, I was greeted by an astronaut! Dotty has moved her Spaceman Sams around: They used to stand against her right wall, but now they’re in the front/middle of the room. One faces the door, while the other faces the back. Seems like an odd way to display your astronauts.

The inside of Dotty's house in ACCF.November is here, and that means several mushrooms can be found around town. One of them each day will actually be a piece of mush furniture. Which piece did I find today? It was a closet, if you mush know.

I thought it was just a mushroom, but it was really a mush closet! If your town has achieved perfect town status, you may also find a rare mushroom buried somewhere in town. It’s worth a whopping 16,000 bells, so it’s well worth the effort to dig it up. 🙂

Look at that! I dug up a rare mushroom!I saw that Groucho’s house was still here, and Groucho was inside. He has finally packed up his furniture in boxes. He sure has taken his time moving out!

Groucho: Well, well, well, I'm glad you finally made it here, Jeff! 'Cause I'm leaving, grumble.
Just go already.

Twice during my time in Forest today, I saw large fish shadows in the river. Each times, I caught a pike. 🙂

I didn't catch a pike! PSYCH!Opal locked herself out of her house, but I didn’t feel like fishing her key out of the river. She’s an elephant. One night outdoors isn’t going to hurt her. 😛
