Winter & Christmas Lights

Winter has arrived, and snow now covers the grass and trees in town. I caught a glimpse of the northern lights tonight, although they were past their peak and starting to fade away.

Unfortunately, I didn’t see any shirts I liked…but I did see this motocross helmet for sale. It was blue and shiny, and I couldn’t resist it.

Me wearing a motocross helmet I just bought from Able Sisters in ACCF.Of course that clashed with what I was already wearing, making my kiwi shirt look even worse. So I changed into my UFO pattern shirt for now; at least it’s blue and black like the helmet.

As I walked around, I noticed that Christmas lights are also on some of the cedar trees around town.

When I visited Chow, he asked me to catch a centipede for him. Yikes.

Chow: How about it? You're a mighty bug hunter, right? Catch a centipede, and bring it to me!
He says he wants a centipede, but his face says otherwise.

I tried banging several rocks, but I only found pill bugs, not centipedes. He may be on his own for that request.

At Nook ‘n’ Go, I decided to order a racing shirt (not to be confused with the racer shirt or racer 6 shirt) to go along with my helmet. I should have that next time.

I was also trying to find Opal, since I didn’t see her anywhere in town. I eventually found her in the Roost. We had a nice chat about coffee, and how delicious it is.

Opal: I thought coffee was just something that kept you awake. I didn't realize it could be delicious!I’ll see you all next time. Happy holidays!

Coco Comes to Town

I spotted a new house in town tonight, and I found Coco inside. She’s the creepy gyroid/coconut/zombie/rabbit villager with no eyes. And yet, I kind of like her. 😛

Coco: Well, it's nice to meet you. I'm new here, so I'm sorry if I seem a little frazzled. My name is Coco.Tom Nook had a big festive tree (a large Christmas tree, in other words) on sale at Nook ‘n’ Go tonight. I bought it for my house.

Tom Nook: Yes, a big festive tree. It costs 1,984 bells.Saharah was in town, looking for old wallpaper. But before I asked Static for wallpaper, he told me that I can’t catch saltwater fish in the river and I can’t catch freshwater fish in the ocean. You don’t say…

Static: You can't catch saltwater fish in the river, just like you can't catch freshwater ones in the ocean.
Look at that face. He’s so proud of himself for figuring that out.

I spoke to him again to ask for old wallpaper, and he actually had one for me!

Next, I ran into was Broccolo outside. I chatted with him, but I didn’t have the option to ask about wallpaper; he just kept talking about finding fossils or money on the ground. Then I realized, it was just after 12:00. Saharah, for whatever reason, doesn’t stick around past midnight. What a pain.

When I went to see Tank, he told me that pill bugs were on his mind and even in his dreams! That doesn’t sounds like a good dream.

Tank: I am ALL about those crazy things. I'm serious! They're crawling in my dreams. But pill bugs are usually pretty easy to catch, so I agreed to help him out. When I returned with the bug, he rewarded me with a groovy wall.

After completing my walk around town (and getting some fossils identified), I returned home. I put my Christmas tree up and I put my old wallpaper into storage. That was actually the third old wallpaper I have in storage now! That would have been enough for a rare one, if Saharah hadn’t been in such a hurry to fly out of town. Oh well, I can redeem them next time.

If you haven’t yet seen my annual slideshow of my best City Folk pictures, here it is.

Savannah Graduates?

Rod is gone now, and I got his goodbye letter in the mail tonight.

Rod's goodbye letter in Animal Crossing: City Folk.Outside of the museum, Bluebear was talking about Blathers and Celeste. She said that they’re over ten years apart in age, yet they still argue about everything. She was trying to figure out whose fault it was.

Bluebear: Is Celeste all stubborn? Or is Blathers just a jerkface?Static asked me to make a delivery to Savannah, and I did. The gift was a graduation gown! Oh, did Savannah just graduate?

Savannah: Well, would you look at that! A graduation gown!
Congrats! Finishing school is one of life’s biggest hurdles.

After returning to Static, he gave me  a TV with a VCR to thank me for my trouble.

Chow the panda somehow locked himself out of his house. He asked me to help look for his key, but I wasn’t in the mood. Fishing for keys is such an annoying chore in this game.

Chow: I'm a man without keys... A man without a home... A wanderer... Makes me sound kinda cool...When I came up the ramp, I found Tank and Opal…uh…enjoying each other’s company. A lot.

Opal and Tank enjoying each other.
Get a room.

I checked the lost and found, and there were 12 items in there instead of the usual maximum of ten. That’s because Franklin’s tables (from the harvest festival) took over some of the spaces occupied by the sparklers and roman candles I left there. So I took them back, and I also took this kiwi shirt and put it on.

Wearing a kiwi shirt in the gate.See you all next time!
