Broccolo’s Key

As expected, I got Bettina’s goodbye letter in the mail today.

Bettina's goodbye letter in Animal Crossing: City Folk for Wii.June is here now, and that means fireflies are in season. Gotta catch ’em all!

Swinging my net at a firefly. In the city, Del was talking about the marquee. He said he recently saw his ex-wife Yann in there, although he couldn’t understand why anyone would want to see Shrunk’s shows.

Del: The other day, I even saw some weirdo from Tropical in there.Saharah was in town, looking for old carpet. Unfortunately, Lily was the only animal who would give me any!

Lily: I was going to take it to Saharah, but if you're going that way, it would save me some hassle, in a pond!I had one old carpet in storage, but that still left me one short of the three required for a rare carpet. Maybe next time…

Broccolo locked himself out of his house, so I went fishing for his key. Fortunately, I found it on my first try!

I caught a key! ...Whose key is this?I returned it to Broccolo, and he was very grateful. He rewarded me with a dingloid.

Broccolo: Thank you soooooooo much, Mr. J! You saved me from having to nap outside!

Bettina’s Bye-Bye

Today, Friga warned me about Michael from the town of Pickles. Well it wasn’t really a warning, but she was telling me that he’s a night owl. Obviously, she hasn’t spoken to Michael in more than a year. It’s kind of interesting when you think about it: Villagers will continue to talk about human players they once spoke with, for possibly years to come. As long as they remain in our towns, they will retain the “memory” of meeting those players.

Friga: You know, Michael from Pickles sure is one to keep on your radar, so chill. When I went in to see Bettina, I found that was packed up to move out of town. Finally! It’s been a full week since she told me she was leaving, so let’s get this show mouse on the road.

Bettina: Yeah, I've finally made the big decision! I'm moving out, toasty...I ran into Bunnie outside, and she told me she has decided to become a mermaid. I think she’s lost her marbles. It won’t cost much…just your voice!

Bunnie: Boy J! Guess what? I've TOTALLY decided to become a mermaid! Yaaay! Mermaids are AWESOME!In the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider for a sad song; he performed Comrade K.K. for me.

K.K.: Here's a jam that'll shine the blues clean off your shoes... It's called Comrade K.K..Before wrapping up my game for the night, I stopped in to say hello to Broccolo. Now I’m not an interior decorator or anything, but it’s hard not to question what he’s done with his house. All of his furniture is in the front half of the room, making it quite cramped and hard to move around. The back half of his room is completely empty.

Not a Coincidence (552 Bells)

Tonight, Cousteau asked me to make a delivery to Mallary. He said he couldn’t do it himself because he just ran a marathon in wet sand.

Cousteau: I've got this package I need to get delivered. Thing is, I just ran a marathon in wet sand. When I visited Bunnie, she freaked out about not cleaning in her corners. She was afraid I would see some dust bunnies or something. I wonder if they’re related to her…

Bunnie: EEEEK! I forgot to clean the corners!I ran into Twiggy just south of the fountain, and she told me we should teach an olive flounder to play baseball. Strike three, you’re out…of the water.

Twiggy: Ohmigosh: I've got a great idea! We should teach an olive flounder to play baseball! Isn't that CRAZY?She actually just wanted me to catch an olive flounder for her, but I wasn’t in the mood for fishing. Go catch it yourself, Twiggy.

On the western edge of town, Broccolo approached me and randomly gave me a men’s toilet. Who does that?

Broccolo: Oh, derrr! Mr. J, I was going to give you my men's toilet!I eventually circled back around to Mallary’s house, and I gave her the gift from Cousteau. It was a rose shirt, and she didn’t like it very much…although she put it on anyway. I returned to Cousteau and told him what happened. He thanked me for making the delivery and he rewarded me with–you guessed it–552 bells.

Cousteau: This 552 bells is for you. Don't worry, I gave it a good wipe down, oui oui. This seriously happens all the time. For the past several months, I’ve been noticing that I often get 552 bells as a reward from the villagers. Almost every time they give me cash, it’s exactly 552 bells. I started taking pictures, and here is a collage of those pictures. I’m not sure if there’s any significance to the number 552, but this clearly is no coincidence.

Six ACCF screenshots showing Twiggy, Lily, Mallary, Bunnie, and Cousteau rewarding me with exactly 552 bells.
