It was storming in Forest today, and Alli was not enjoying the rain.
If you look closely, you can see a flea jumping off of her in the above pic. I caught the flea, and she said someone must have sabotaged her by putting the flea on her. Apparently, everyone is jealous of how good she looks. At least that’s what she thinks.
I saw Pascal was in town on my middle bridge, but I didn’t have a scallop attached to any of my letters. But fortunately, I found one when I combed the beach. I took it back to him, and he told me that schools of fish don’t actually learn anything.
He gave me a ship cannon in exchange for the scallop. He then swam down the river, and I was able to take this picture of him going over the waterfall.
Downstream, I saw a huge fish shadow near my southern bridge. It kept hiding from me, often going under the bridge. But I stuck with it, eventually catching myself an arapaima!
It was raining quite heavily in Forest tonight. Benedict, still wearing his waitress shirt, said the rain makes him feel like he’s in a movie. Hmm, would that be Chicken Little maybe? I don’t think an umbrella will save you if the sky is falling.
I was a bit tired of wearing my flame shirt. I’ve been wearing it since March, after all! So when I saw a No. 1 shirt on sale in Able Sisters tonight, I decided to buy it and put it on.
I found a new house in the northeast part of town, so I went inside to check out who was inside. My new neighbor is Tank the rhino.
Tank seems pretty cool, even if I don’t understand why he has a leaf on his head. But when he turned around, I noticed something: Tank and I are wearing the same clothes! We both have the No. 1 shirt on, although mine is a T-shirt and his is a tank top. That way, he’s able to show off his army arms.
My favorite villager Savannah was sick with a cold, so of course I went to the store and bought some medicine for her. She flipped as she took the medicine, as animals do, but her T-rex skull in the room made it look like something else:
To save myself, I threw the zebra into the jaws of the hungry T-rex.
I took the bus out to the city and checked out Crazy Redd’s items for the week. He was selling a super toilet for 3,960 bells. But despite my No. 1 shirt, I didn’t have to go. So I wasn’t interested, but Redd had an interesting choice of words for the toilet: He was astounded at how I can sniff out a bargain!
The fireworks festival takes place each Sunday night in August. That makes tonight the final one of the year, even though it’s the first (and only) one I attended this summer. Tortimer told me he hopes I’ll always remember this summer. I will, but not for the fireworks festival.
I then used a roman candle to give Tortimer a turtle wax treatment. That has become an annual tradition for me (since Megan and I did it to Tortimer years ago). Tortimer wasn’t fond of the treatment at first, but he quickly warmed up to the idea.
Many of the outdoor animals were discussing the fireworks, including Rod. But he seemed to be confusing fireworks with shooting stars. He wanted to wish on the last rocket for muscle hugeness (his words, not mine). Yikes.
On my walk around town, I stopped at several points to look up at the clear night sky and watch the fireworks explode.
The fireworks shows are fun, but they’re also a bit sad for me. They just remind me of the days of online play. Playing during the fireworks festivals with Wi-Fi friends provided some of my most memorable moments in ACCF. The happy tune that accompanies the fireworks rings a bit hollow for me now. But it’s still an enjoyable time.
I found something quite surprising while on my walk, though: A four-leaf clover! Maybe I’ll get lucky now?
It almost looks like daytime in this picture, due to the fireworks going off.
I ran one errand for Savannah tonight; it’s too hard to turn down her requests. She asked me to make a delivery (a noble shirt) to Chow. He didn’t seem to care for it, but he put it on anyway. When I returned to Savannah, she rewarded me with a red tile carpet. How exciting.
One last note: As expected, I got Aurora’s goodbye letter in the mail tonight.
If you’d like to see a video of the fireworks festival that I recorded last year, here it is.
