Valentine’s Day 2016

Today is Valentine’s Day, and I got a valentine in the mail from…Twiggy? I wasn’t expecting her to be my valentine, but she did send me a chocolate heart, so I won’t complain too much.

Twiggy: Happy Valentine's Day! Here's some chocolate for YOU!I took the bus out to the city, and it was snowing there. But it felt more like Halloween than Valentine’s Day when I saw Tabby! She seemed smitten by the clerk in Gracie Grace.

Tabby: She's like a celebrity clerk or whatever, me-WOW!When I returned to Forest, I found a new house in town: Marina the octopus just moved into town! And her lovely carpet has hearts on it–quite appropriate considering her moving-in date!

Marina: I just moved here. My name is Marina.Brewster does something special for Valentine’s Day: Instead of coffee, he serves hot chocolate today. What a sweet treat!

Wait a second... This is hot chocolate!Alli asked me to find her a centipede today. So I went around banging rocks until I found one; it didn’t take me long. I returned the long bug to her, and she was thrilled with it (for some reason). She rewarded me by giving me 552 bells.

Alli: Is this...? It IS! You brought me the centipede I wanted!
The look of pure joy that only a centipede can provide.

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

Benedict’s New Job

A fishing tournament was held earlier in the day. I did not participate, but I spoke with Chip outside of town hall tonight. He told me that Aurora won the competition with an 81-inch tuna! I have trouble believing a penguin could catch a fish that large.

Chip: The winner was Aurora from here in Forest! It’s Saturday night, so I headed to the Roost to check out some live music. K.K. sang K.K. Lullaby for me–and nearly put me to sleep.

K.K.: Get ready to dig this ditty: K.K. Lullaby.Static told me he’s been obsessed with watching basketball games on TV lately! Shocking, isn’t it? He said he would like to go watch the games in person, but the bus line doesn’t travel out that far.

Static: I've been obsessed with watching basketball on TV, shocking!Benedict asked me for a new greeting, so I told him to say “Welcome to KFC!” I told him it stood for Kentucky Fried Carrots.

Benedict: Welcome to KFC!His boss told him that he doesn’t even have to serve the customers; in fact, Benedict will be the one being served! Sounded good to him; he thinks it’s a gravy job. Apparently, Benedict was on Colonel Sanders’ bucket list.

Repairing the Path

When I started up the game tonight, I found Jay’s goodbye letter in the mail. So long, Jay.

Jay's goodbye letter. When I saw the spot where his house was, I was reminded that his house landed on my path when he first moved in. I had to re-route the path around his birdhouse at the time.

The spot where Jay lived.Mott and Alli were having a conversation near Nook ‘n’ Go. Alli was talking about a pimple on her face, and how she read that you can break out if you dump someone. She figured that it must be because she’s turned down so many guys lately. Mott responded that, instead of getting so many manicures and pedicures, Alli should get a faceicure. Ouch.

Mott to Alli: Instead of manicures and pedicures, you should get a faceicure!
Savage.

Chow told me he just saw a starving Wendell in town, so he gave him some food. In return, he got some wallpaper. But I can’t help but notice that nearly everyone in town is saying “and cheese” as their catchphrase! I originally gave it to Broccolo the mouse, but it has spread like wildfire. I hate when that happens.

Chow: Wendell looks so happy when he eats. I want to just keep feeding him.As I went around town, I picked up a bunch of extra flowers that were lying around. I took them back to where Jay’s house was and I fixed up the path. The flowers will help the grass re-grow there. Hopefully the next villager won’t move into that same spot!
