Wi-Fi Moments #62: The Finale

At long last, here is the final episode of ACCF Wi-Fi Moments. This shows many events from May 19/20, 2014, which was the final night of online play. Chris, Megan, Michael, and Yann visited as we played various games (sumo, museum tag) and did glitches for the last time. Two minutes of the video is devoted to a mini-slideshow of pictures of online play. At the end, we say our sad, final goodbyes. Without further ado, here is the video:

As for today, I checked my mail and got Ribbot’s goodbye letter, as expected.

Ribbot's goodbye letter in Animal Crossing: City Folk. However, his replacement has not arrived yet. I still have just nine villagers. I began my walk around town and I ran into Lily; she gave me a modern wall for free!

Lily: Say... Dearie, do you have any interest in a modern wall? It's free, unlike you!On my northern bridge, Angus was doing his best Pascal impersonation. Unfortunately, he didn’t jump in the river though.

Angus standing on the bridge, looking over the edge.I bumped into Kiki, and she asked me to make a delivery to Lily. I still knew where Lily was (at least the general area), so it was easy to take her the gift–a jagged shirt. Lily put it on and I returned to Kiki to tell her I completed the task. She rewarded me with an oak silk moth! I thought that was an unusually good reward, until I realized it’s the same one I caught for her last weekend.

Kiki: Um, I can give you an oak silk moth. It’s Saturday of course, so I went up to the museum (and down to the Roost) to check out the weekly musical performance. I told K.K. I was sad (probably from making the final Wi-Fi Moments video), and he sang K.K. Waltz for me. Thanks, dog.

K.K.: Here's a jam that'll shine the blues clean off your shoes... It's called K.K. Waltz.Thank you to all who have enjoyed the blogs and the videos over the years. Even though there won’t be further ACCF Wi-Fi Moments videos, I’ll be covering Animal Crossing games for many years to come! Stay tuned to jvgsjeff on Youtube and jvgs.net!

Rib-Bye

After spending nearly an hour looking for an oak silk moth for Kiki last night, I didn’t want all that effort to go to waste. So I started the game up today and quickly took her the bug. She thanked me for it, and rewarded me with…752 bells. Seriously? I guess all that effort did go to waste after all.

Kiki: I'm so happy I talked to you, for real! Well, catch you later! The funniest part was that she said “I don’t really know if it’s your style, but I hope you like it.”

Anyway, tonight was the last fireworks festival of 2014. I stopped over at town hall to speak with Tortimer; he was handing out some sparklers and Roman candles. I’m not so sure that he’s giving good advice, however.

Tortimer: Here's a little tip: stare straight at the fireworks! That'll burn them into your memory!I went over to a bridge (my usual spot) to watch some of the fireworks.

Fireworks explode in the sky above me as I stand on a bridge.I also lit a Roman candle while I was there. Who says there’s anything wrong with burning bridges?

I light a roman candle from the bridge. But the night wasn’t all happiness and explosions and fire. My heart sank when I went into Ribbot’s house and saw that he’s all packed up and ready to move out of town! Why do the good ones always leave?

Ribbot: I decided to take my awesomeness on tour, and I was bummed I wouldn't be able to say bye to people. On that sad note, I ended my game for the night.

Keep an eye out for my Wi-Fi Moments finale video coming out later this week!

Bug-Hunting for Kiki

I went to the Roost tonight to check out the weekly musical performance. I asked K.K. for a random song, and he played K.K. Ragtime for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Ragtime.I spoke with Kiki outside, and she asked me for an oak silk moth. I agreed to help her out.

Kiki: Guess what, Mr. J! I've decided that I absolutely HAVE to have an oak silk moth!Lily the frog asked me for a new greeting, so I told her to say “I’m into hip hop.”

Lily: I'll have to test this out... I'm into hip hop! I like it, unlike you!As I made my way around town, I was keeping an eye out for an oak silk moth. I also caught some other valuable bugs, too. When I chatted with Mallary, she was interested in my goliath beetle; she even said I look less handsome carrying it around!

Mallary: Oh, I know! It's that goliath beetle you have! Somehow you look less handsome carrying it!She offered me a kitschy tile for it. Not a fair trade, but I was feeling generous, so I went ahead and made the deal.

Near the top of my waterfall, I saw a scorpion walking around. As I walked towards it, it fell off the cliff. I got my net out, and it was trying to get me…even though it couldn’t reach me.

Me standing on the top of the cliff, with a scorpion down below unable to reach me.I just walked to the left and it followed. But I led it right into the river, where it died a watery death.

After nearly an hour of searching, I finally found an oak silk moth. Kiki wasn’t at home, so I circled around town trying to find her. After I made a full loop back to her house, I saw that she was now asleep for the night! Ugh! Are you kidding me?

Sign on Kiki's door: Good night. If you need me, please come tomorrow.
