As expected, I got Octavian’s goodbye letter in the mail. It was a bit sad; even the ink was still wet.
I also got a letter from Lily, expressing appreciation for the medicine the other day. To thank me, she sent me a propane stove. I don’t know how a stove is an appropriate thank-you for medicine, but I digress.
Saturday is K.K. night at the Roost, so I went up to see the singing dog. I let him choose the song, and he performed K.K. Tango for me.
Octavian’s absence really hit home when I saw the big empty spot down by the beach.
On my walk, I spotted a scorpion. I took a few steps back, got my net out, and slowly walked up to it. Gotcha!
And shortly after midnight, Kiki told me how much she was enjoying the sunny weather. Wait, what?

Lily was sick tonight, so I bought some medicine for her. Hopefully she’ll start feeling better soon.
I got a big surprise when I went in to visit Octavian: He’s all packed and ready to move out of town! This is disappointing, because he’s one of the villagers I wanted to stick around. I can think of eight reasons that this sucks. I’ll hate to sea his house gone the next time I play. I wish he could stay, but I’m not holding my breath.
As I continued my walk around town, I saw Wendy across the river. I stopped to wave hello to her. “Hey, ewe!”
My old friend Puck was also in the city, talking about getting a haircut. He said his hair was shaggier than a shredded paintbrush! Really? It doesn’t even look like he has hair!
Back in Forest, Lily was talking about today’s Bug-Off competition. But she said there was a problem…maybe she should try catching the bugs with her net instead of her tongue.
Kiki wasn’t participating in the bug-catching. Instead, she was chilling in her house. She told me she put a lot of effort into her room. I tried not to laugh.
I circled around town and eventually spoke with Nat himself. He’s the judge of the Bug-Off competition, and he told me to find rare bugs for him.
I was a bit too lazy to catch any bugs myself, but I returned later to see who won. Octavian was the final winner, with a 55-point jewel beetle.
And before the night ended, I went up to the Roost to check the Saturday night performance. K.K. sang one of my favorite songs, K.K. Cruisin’.
