The other day, Pompom officially moved out of Forest. This was her goodbye letter.
Today, I went to the city to check out Crazy Redd’s new inventory for the week. He must have been expecting a bunch of children (or Bob) to shop there, because two of his three items were kiddie items (a bed and a bureau).
While I was in the city, I stopped in Shampoodle to get my hair back to normal. See you next year, Mohawk McClover!
Melba approached me and told me that our town might be filled with fossils. Really? So that explains the thousands of fossils I’ve dug up over the past 5+ years. Thanks for informing me.
I spotted a new house in town, which means Pompom’s replacement has already moved in. Forest’s newest resident is Friga the penguin.

A model of Nookington’s was also attached to the letter. This thing is actually bigger than I expected; it’s almost as big as me!
On the bulletin board, there was a message declaring Octavian the winner of yesterday’s fishing tournament. He caught the biggest fish, a 12-inch crucian carp. Isn’t that unfair to let an octopus win, though? He could just go under the water and then snatch the biggest fish!
I decided to look through the points catalog to see if there was anything I wanted to purchase. I’ve previously bought a Majora’s Mask, but that’s all I’ve ever bought. However, nothing really appealed to me. The kart is nice, but I actually think I already have one in storage that Ness gave me one time before (if I’m not mistaken). So I just hung onto my points for now.
Back outside, there was a balloon present flying overhead. So I got my slingshot out and shot it down. It contained a ? block.
I found two new black roses today as I completed my walk around town.
Chip was outside of town hall, due to the fishing tournament being held today. However, I didn’t play early enough to participate.
As I went into Nook’s to get my daily shopping points, I passed a milestone: 20,000 shopping points. After 5 years and 4 months, I have finally become a platinum member!

Tom Nook actually didn’t congratulate me on becoming a platinum member. In fact, I only even saw this because I specifically checked my balance (because I knew I was getting close). But Nook’s prices should be slightly lower for me from now on, plus I should get a Nookington’s model in the mail tomorrow.
After a fruitless bus ride to the city, I returned to town and went up to the Roost. It’s Saturday night, so I asked K.K. for a random song and he played K.K. Chorale for me.
After the song ended, I ran into Lily. She asked me to make a delivery to Nate, and she only gave me about 15 minutes to complete the task. Fortunately, Nate was at home, so I didn’t have to search for him. I gave him the present, and it turned out to be a green rug. To match his eyebrow.
I then returned to Lily, and she rewarded me by giving me a fancy carpet.
