Duck Out, Penguin In

The other day, Pompom officially moved out of Forest. This was her goodbye letter.

Wah, Jeff! Today is finally the day I leave Forest forever. Thanks for being such a great BFF! Take cake! -Yours, PompomToday, I went to the city to check out Crazy Redd’s new inventory for the week. He must have been expecting a bunch of children (or Bob) to shop there, because two of his three items were kiddie items (a bed and a bureau).

Crazy Redd's shop, with a kiddie bed and a kiddie bureau on sale. While I was in the city, I stopped in Shampoodle to get my hair back to normal. See you next year, Mohawk McClover!

Harriet: That will be 3,000 bells, please.Melba approached me and told me that our town might be filled with fossils. Really? So that explains the thousands of fossils I’ve dug up over the past 5+ years. Thanks for informing me.

Melba: I started reading a little bit, and I found out that our whole town might actually be FILLED with fossils!I spotted a new house in town, which means Pompom’s replacement has already moved in. Forest’s newest resident is Friga the penguin.

Friga: Well, the rumors are true! I am the newly arrived Friga that the whole town is talking about!

Nookington’s Model

As expected, I got a letter in the mail today from Nook PTS (Point Tracking System). It announced that I would now receive a 20% discount at Nook’s store.

Dear Jeff, Congratulations! You have amassed 20,000 points, making you a wonderful platinum member! BONUS: 20% OFF ALL PURCHASES! -Nook's PTSA model of Nookington’s was also attached to the letter. This thing is actually bigger than I expected; it’s almost as big as me!

The Nookington's model on display in my house. On the bulletin board, there was a message declaring Octavian the winner of yesterday’s fishing tournament. He caught the biggest fish, a 12-inch crucian carp. Isn’t that unfair to let an octopus win, though? He could just go under the water and then snatch the biggest fish!

*The Tourney Results* Octavian has won the 3/15 crucian carp fishing tourney with a 12-inch monster!I decided to look through the points catalog to see if there was anything I wanted to purchase. I’ve previously bought a Majora’s Mask, but that’s all I’ve ever bought. However, nothing really appealed to me. The kart is nice, but I actually think I already have one in storage that Ness gave me one time before (if I’m not mistaken). So I just hung onto my points for now.

Points catalog. Kart: 10,000 points.Back outside, there was a balloon present flying overhead. So I got my slingshot out and shot it down. It contained a ? block.

Shooting down a balloon present on a cloudy evening.I found two new black roses today as I completed my walk around town.

By the way, if anyone would like a bunch of yellow roses (10-15 of them), just let me know.

Platinum Member

Today, there was a message posted on the bulletin board stating that the cherry blossoms would be in bloom on April 1st. No foolin’!

~Cherry Blossoms~ It's getting warmer every day, don't you think? The buds are getting fatter, and by April 1st, 70% should be in bloom.Chip was outside of town hall, due to the fishing tournament being held today. However, I didn’t play early enough to participate.

Chip: Ah! Oh, this is a shame. The crucian carp fishing tourney ends at 6 p.m. Yep! All done here.As I went into Nook’s to get my daily shopping points, I passed a milestone: 20,000 shopping points. After 5 years and 4 months, I have finally become a platinum member!

Just as platinum glimmers for all eternity...Surely your reputation as a shopper will shine for eternity as well!

You have earned the supreme member ranking, Jeff. (Platinum member)Tom Nook actually didn’t congratulate me on becoming a platinum member. In fact, I only even saw this because I specifically checked my balance (because I knew I was getting close). But Nook’s prices should be slightly lower for me from now on, plus I should get a Nookington’s model in the mail tomorrow.

Back outside, I spoke with Goose the chicken, and he was talking about Emma from his previous town of Winkland. He said she was a big party girl.

Goose: Went by the name of Emma, and she was 110% party peep! After a fruitless bus ride to the city, I returned to town and went up to the Roost. It’s Saturday night, so I asked K.K. for a random song and he played K.K. Chorale for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Chorale. After the song ended, I ran into Lily. She asked me to make a delivery to Nate, and she only gave me about 15 minutes to complete the task. Fortunately, Nate was at home, so I didn’t have to search for him. I gave him the present, and it turned out to be a green rug. To match his eyebrow.

Coooooooooooool! It's a green rug!I then returned to Lily, and she rewarded me by giving me a fancy carpet.
