Rowan’s Indecision

I saw Nate tonight and decided to speak with him (for a change). He told me that K.K.’s songs are like ice cream for your ears.

Nate: K.K. Slider's songs are cool, sweet, and smooth. They're like ice cream for my ears!If nothing else, that analogy reminded me to visit K.K. in the Roost. I asked him for a random song and he played “Only Me” for me (and Octavian).

I listen as K.K. performs Only Me. Octavian is also present, enjoying some coffee.Back outside, I bumped into Rowan. He told me he wanted to move out of town. I asked him not to leave, but he said he was leaving anyway. I figured I’d try to convince him to stay again if I see him, but I’m not going to go out of my way to keep him around. Even though I like him, he’s no Bob.

Rowan: So just help me make sure my last memories of this place are extra awesome, rowr!I found both of today’s snowballs, so I rolled up a snowman. He was pleased with his appearance and declared himself an eligible snowbachelor. Melba seemed to take notice right away. Stay away from her, Snowman! Even though you may want to go down under with her, she’ll melt your heart!

Snowman: This will be the year I finally hit number one on Precipitation Monthly's list of eligible snowbachelors!I spoke with Elmer, and he told me lost a race to Octavian. A horse lost a race to an octopus? For your sake, I hope you were racing underwater.

Elmer: I was in a race a while ago. Octavian came in first place, Avery came in second place...Just a few minutes later, I saw Rowan again. He again talked about moving out, and he gave me another chance to save him. This time, he agreed to stay in town. That was easy.

Rowan: Your tears have, like, rusted the iron boulder of my heart, rowr. And last but not least, I spoke with Miranda. She told me that Nate and Avery have been fighting lately. She’s afraid it was going to end up in a brutal food fight, with stew thrown all over town. And that’s a bad thing how?

Miranda: I bet there's going to be a food fight before long. With lentil stew thrown all over town!

New Year’s Day 2014

It’s New Year’s Day, and Tortimer was standing outside town hall to hand out the New Year’s shirt for 2014.

Tortimer: It's a New Year's shirt. And it's this year's limited-edition model! It’s green and it has a horse on the front and “2014” on the back. The reason for the horse is that 2014 is the year of the horse in the Chinese zodiac. Today is the only day you can get the shirt, so I hope you got yours!

The New Year's Shirt 2014 in Animal Crossing: City Folk (ACCF). Front and back are shown.I had a lot of letters in my mailbox today. One of the letters was my monthly bank statement from the Bank of Nintendo, informing me that I’ve earned 99,999 bells in interest on my account.

But the rest of the letters were New Year’s greetings. One was from “Mom,” who sent me 1,000 bells along with the letter. The others were from my villagers: Melba, Avery, Ribbot, Octavian, Lily, and Rowan.

Jeff, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I was the workout king last year! This year, I'm making a run at workout Chief Extreme Officer of Radness, and I'm giving you a promotion! -H-core for life, Rowan! After a quick, but unfruitful, trip to the city, I returned to water my flowers and talk to villagers. Ribbot told me we’re going to be solid buds again in 2014. That’s good to know, because it’s never a good idea to get on a robot’s bad side.

Ribbot: We're gonna be solid buds again this year. I know it, no compute!Rowan, however, was being more arrogant than friendly. He told me he’s so awesome that it scares him. Allllrighty then.

Rowan: Sometimes I get kinda scared about how awesome I am...rowr!I also switched to my Scott character to put some extra hybrids into his storage. I’ve already grown enough new purple roses that I’ve replaced all the ones I borrowed for Bob’s memorial. I even have several extras. Anyway, I hope you had a good New Year’s Day and I hope 2014 is a great year for you.

I also hope you’ll continue visiting JVGS throughout 2014 and beyond for Animal Crossing blogs and more. Thank you very much for reading and have a great day! 🙂

New Year’s Eve

The other night, I spoke with Elmer near a sign post. He said he likes walking in this area because there aren’t any buildings in the area. The ironic thing is that this sign post is where his house used to be, the first time he lived in Forest.

Elmer: Sometimes I like to stroll around here 'cause there aren't many buildings in my way, down under. And tonight, it’s New Year’s Eve of course. Tortimer was outside of town hall handing out party poppers next to the countdown clock.

Exactly three hours (3:00:00) remaining on the countdown clock to the new year. Tortimer stands nearby.I then changed into my tuxedo as the northern lights started appearing up in the sky. I started stockpiling party poppers. Yes, I hoard party poppers. Don’t judge me.

Around 20 party poppers on the ground near Tortimer and the countdown clock.I spoke with Elmer again tonight and he said today is the day we put pajamas on 2013 and put it to bed.

Elmer: Today's the day we put 2013 in pajamas, give it a teddy bear to cuddle, and put it to bed!Ribbot told me of a boring New Year’s tradition he has: He cleans his house. You wild thing, you.

Ribbot: I clean my place from top to bottom for New Year's. What a lame tradition, no compute. And I noticed a new house in town. I went inside to meet my newest neighbor, Pate the duck.

Pate: Oh! Hiya! I'm Pate! I'm gonna, like, take the world by STORM! Tee hee!I didn’t stay on for the final countdown tonight, but I hope you all have a happy new year and a great 2014! By the way, if you haven’t already seen my latest Youtube video, then here it is: ACCF – Wi-Fi Moments #59.
