Fireworks in Bananas

Shortly after 7:00 tonight, I opened up my Bananas gate for the fireworks festival. To my surprise, Jake was the only visitor I had. My town had tons of weeds, so I was picking them practically all night.

A bunch of weeds and clovers on the ground in the town of Bananas. My villager Wendy commented on my bedhead and asked if I had been sleeping for seven months.

Wendy: Ohmigosh! That's, like, a 7-month span! Have you been SLEEPING THAT ENTIRE TIME?!Of course Tortimer was handing out sparklers and roman candles, so I kept burning Jake.

Jeff burning Jake with a roman candle outside of town hall.We also watched the fireworks in the sky, even though they’re not as impressive as they are in New Leaf.

Jeff and Jake watching fireworks in Animal Crossing: City Folk.My animals were all shocked to see me. I was shocked to see some of them too, since I don’t even remember all of them.

Poncho: Did I get tackled too hard and start hallucinating, or is that Jeff?!I noticed that Rod was keeping a tarantula right next to his baby. Is that such a good idea? Even if the tarantula’s cage was completely secured, wouldn’t that scare a baby mouse to know a hungry spider probably bigger than him is right next to his bed?

A tarantula right next to the stroller in Rod's house. The villager Al apparently just moved into Bananas today. He came from the town of Newnan–I don’t even know whose town that is. If you know, please leave a comment below!

Al: I just moved here today from Newnan, so I'm still cleaning up. Oh, I'm Al, by the way.I ended the party around 8:15. To be honest, I am disappointed that only one person showed up. I guess everyone’s moved on to playing New Leaf instead of City Folk. I may not bother opening up Bananas again since there doesn’t seem to be much interest in it any more.

Later on, I played in my regular town Forest. I saw a bit of the fireworks here too. Bob told me that when they’re over, he wanted a snow cone. Good thing I’m not wearing my snowcone shirt any more.

Bob: When this is finished, I want a snow cone.I watered my flowers and on the way, I spotted a tarantula. I got my net out, crept up to the large hairy spider, and caught it!

I caught a tarantula! I don't wanna arm-wrestle this guy! That’s all for tonight, but I’ll be back again soon with another update. In case you don’t know, I update this ACCF blog about three times a week. I update my New Leaf blog daily. So check that out if you need a daily dose of Animal Crossing updates.  I’ll see you all next time!

Wallpaper for Saharah

As I began my walk around town tonight, I went into Becky’s house to say hello. She didn’t appreciate me barging into her house.

Becky: I see... You're pretty plucky, just barging into my house like this.Outside, Avery gave me a new nickname: Shorty. I think that nickname applies to all of the munchkins characters in City Folk, at least when compared to the taller New Leaf characters.

Avery: Aha, whaddaya say to shorty? That's a real gem, isn't it? And it fits you to a tee!I saw a checkered tee in the Able Sisters’ shop, so I decided to buy it. It’s a shirt that I used to wear in the GameCube game a lot.

Wearing the checkered tee I bought at Able Sisters.I then spotted Saharah in town, and she was looking for old wallpaper to recycle. So I went around asking my villagers for some. Felicity, however, only wanted to talk about wearing high socks to look like an old-time baseball pitcher. She seems like a regular screwball, alright.

Felicity: I want to look like an old-timey baseball pitcher!Melba, Becky, and Avery each had some old wallpaper for me.

Avery: Is this for a school recycling drive or something? So I took the three wallpapers back to Saharah, and she gave me an office wall. Again. Give me something new, please!

Saharah: Here...an office wall. Very exotic... Treasure it. It is a very rare thing. And just a heads-up for ACCF players on my Bananas roster. I will be opening my Bananas town this Sunday around 7pm Eastern U.S. time. That’s 4pm Pacific time, or midnight London time. I’ll be open for an hour or so to enjoy the fireworks festival.

Lily Moves In

While watering my flowers, I spotted a new house in town! I went inside to meet my new villager. It was Lily, the frog. As soon as I saw her catchphrase, I knew she had moved here from Yann’s town, Tropical.

Lily: I'm sorry! I really wasn planning on introducing myself to everyone after I got settled, warner bro!I then went back outside to continue my walk. Melba was also out enjoying a stroll. She told me she was glad there were no special events planned today, because she enjoys being lazy. Hear, hear!

Melba: So, it's good to appreciate the times when you've got nowhere to be and nothing to do, I drool.I also spoke to Avery, over at his house. He was telling me about a fish king that rules the rivers. The only way to meet the king, he said, is to deliver him a barred knifejaw. So he asked me to catch one for him. Sorry, but I’m being lazy today. The king can wait.

Avery: Tell me, J-pie, did you ever hear the legend about the mighty Fish King who rules our rivers?
