Nine Lives Lost, At Last

Winter has arrived in Forest, as snow now covers the ground and trees. Chip was hanging out in front of town hall, because there was apparently a fishing tournament today. Who knew? 😛

Chip: Ah! Oh, this is a shame. The Fishing Tourney ends at 6 p.m. Yep! All done.

He told me that Goldie was the winner of the tournament with a 41.2-inch sea bass. So Goldie wins the gold! Yay!

Chip was also on the minds of some of my villagers. Rasher was impressed by Chip’s cooking skills, but also by the way he gobbles up the fish!

Rasher: Yep, Chip has a way with fish in the kitchen. But the way he gobbles them up is a jaw-dropper, too.

Saturday night is K.K. night, so I slid on down to the Roost to check out the show. I asked for a random song, and he played K.K. Steppe for me. That’s the 2nd time in my last 3 K.K. shows that he’s played that song! He needs to steppe up his game.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Steppe.

When I visited Kitty after the show, she gave me the best Christmas present I could ask for: After 1,415 long days (almost 4 years–since January 2017), Kitty is finally moving out! YES!

Kitty: Sorry. But, as you can see, I'm leaving town, I'm awful.
I’m a certified north coast Kitty cat killer.

Take a good look at her, ’cause it’s the last time. 😉 I’ve been waiting for this day forever! Maybe that fight with Astrid last week was the last straw! 😀

I’m sure she’ll send me a goodbye litter letter in the mail next time.

Anyway, Bones asked me to catch a dab for him. I agreed to help out, and it didn’t take me long…only four attempts! And one of the other fish I caught was a lobster, so I made some money in the process. I took the dab back to Bones, and he rewarded me with a lattice wall.

I can’t wait to see who my next villager (and final new villager of 2020) will be! Enjoy your weekend, everyone! 🙂

Kitty, Astrid Fight

Cranky old Wolfgang had the nerve to ask me for a red snapper tonight.

Wolfgang: Do you mind tossing a good red snapper my way, wolfman?

But it was actually his lucky day, because I decided to be nice for a change and help him out. 😛 Well, I wasn’t sure if I could actually catch one, but I figured I’d at least try.

When I visited Walker, he was practically begging me for medicine, he was so sick. Poor guy.

Walker: Just bring me...some medicine...please... No matter how gross it tastes, I promise I'll take it...

So I made sure to buy some medicine and walk it back to him. Get well soon, Walker!

Astrid asked me to make a delivery to Kitty, and Kitty was wondering why Astrid would actually send a gift.

Kitty: A gift from Astrid? I wonder why? Well, I did compliment her for growing vegetables lately...

The gift was a wrap shirt, and Kitty just thought it was okay. Astrid was not very pleased when I told her Kitty didn’t care for the shirt. But she still gave me a stately wall for making the delivery.

Even though I frequently play this game at night, I was playing even later than usual tonight. In fact, I completely missed out on K.K. Slider’s performance at the Roost! But on the bright side, I did get to hear the 1 a.m. music that I enjoy so much. I don’t hear it very frequently any more, and this was probably the first time since summer.

Bones asked me to catch a lobster for him, and I figured I could look for that and the red snapper at the same time. After about 12 minutes of fishing, I caught a red snapper and took it over to Wolfgang.

Wolfgang: Is there a story? Was there an epic battle, human vs. red snapper? I'll be it was great!

Even though it took an “epic battle” to reel in the snapper, Wolfgang only rewarded me with a modern screen.

When I ran into Rasher, he told me that Kitty and Astrid had a fight so bad that they “tore into each other!”

Rasher: You heard anything about Kitty's fight with Astrid? Word is they tore into each other.

Wow! He didn’t say when the fight took place, but I’m choosing to believe it just happened…right after I told Astrid that Kitty didn’t like her gift. Maybe I helped start the fight, without realizing it! 😛

After about half an hour of fishing, I still never found a lobster for Bones. Sorry, dawg. But on the bright side, I did catch two tuna and four football fish!

Jeff, holding a football fish: TOUCHDOWN!

I just couldn’t sell them tonight, because the shop was already closed.

I’ll see you all next week with another entry. Depending on which day I blog, there will likely be snow on the ground by then! Winter is coming!

My Pet

Astrid told me she was feeling out of sorts today. She had something on her mind, and couldn’t think about anything else.

Astrid: Once I start to think about something, I just can't get it out of my head...

At the Roost, K.K. Slider performed K.K. Ballad for me. From the looks of this screenshot, he must have put himself to sleep. 😛 Just kidding, I do like the song, even though it is a bit slow.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Ballad.

After the show, I shot down a balloon present. It contained a writing chair.

Shooting down a balloon present in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

I visited Crazy Redd, and it got me thinking… City Folk is the only Animal Crossing game where you can shop at Redd’s store any day of the week. In the other games, he only shows up once a week (or less). Anyway, Redd had this saw horse for sale today…

Redd: Oh, ho! I see you've taken quite a shine to that there saw horse, yes?

It’s an item that’s more suited to outdoor use (on a construction site, for example). But City Folk doesn’t allow you to use furniture outdoors. And oddly enough, this item does not seem to be in New Horizons (the game that does allow outdoor furniture). Nintendo makes some odd decisions sometimes.

I caught a flea that was on Goldie, and she said she feels like she’s my pet! That’s kinda cute! I’d love to have Goldie as a pet! 🙂

Goldie: I hope this doesn't sound weird, but... I kinda feel like I'm your pet, J-bot!

Bones asked me to catch a bitterling for him, and Walker wanted me to find his key for him. So I did a little fishing, but I wasn’t having any luck. On what I decided would be my last fish (over the waterfall), I caught Walker’s key. I returned it to him, and he thanked me for making sure he wouldn’t have to nap outside.

Walker: Thank you soooooooo much, Jeff! You saved me from having to nap outside!
