Bad Duck Luck

I checked my map for new villagers, and I saw a new name: Mallary. But where does she live? I clicked on her name and her house was from the general area where Moe lived. That would be perfect if she moved into the same spot!

Optimistic, I quickly ran to the area. But, it wasn’t what it seemed; her house was not in Moe’s spot after all. But that wasn’t the worst part, because her house landed on my path!

Mallary's house on top of my paths. This was the absolute worst spot she could have moved in! I have to re-route my path, and doing so will require more gold roses than it previously required. Fortunately, I had some extras (which are no longer “extras” but required parts) that can be used.

So basically, I disliked Mallary before I even met her. But I went ahead and got that over with, too.

Mallary: Say, do you live in town? So do I. As of today anyway, because I just moved here! She’s lucky I don’t have an NES Zapper, or I’d be going on a Duck Hunt right about now.

June Bugs

Moe is officially an ex-villager, as I got his goodbye letter in the mail.

Moe's goodbye letter in Animal Crossing: City Folk. Now that it’s June, fireflies are out and about. I like how they light up the area around them as they’re flying around.

A firefly near me lights up my face and the surrounding area. When I saw Moe’s empty house plot, I felt bad. Not because he was gone, but because it left all this dirt behind. I planted some flowers to help the grass regrow, but I’m really hoping Moe’s replacement moves into this same spot.

Red roses planted in the spot where Moe's house was.Fireflies aren’t the only new creatures flying around; June brings many new summer bugs. It’s so hard for me to resist an emperor butterfly!

I caught an emperor butterfly! Such royal beauty!Wendy the sheep saw that I had a flea in my pockets, and she wanted it really bad!

Wendy: Gosh, I sure wish I had one of those... Yeah, it would be totally nice to have one of those...She only offered me 150 bells for it, but she was inexplicably ecstatic when I sold it to her. Whatever floats your boat. (Or bites your skin).
