Groucho & Frillard

Saharah was in town today, looking for old wallpaper.

Saharah: I came from far away. I wish to trade wallpaper. It is for wallpaper that I came to your town today. So I began asking my villagers for wallpaper as I made my way around town. Poor Tangy was sick, though. Maybe she hasn’t been eating enough Vitamin C.

Tangy: S-s-so c-cold... Gonna b-b-barf... or whatever...
Please don’t do that.

After a stop at Nook ‘n’ Go, I returned with some medicine. As she flipped to drink it down, her big orange head lined up with a big orange on her wallpaper.

Tangy flips as she takes her medicine.I went into Poncho’s house, but I didn’t see Poncho. Oh yeah, he moved out already. Instead, I found Groucho! He just arrived in town, moving into the same spot where Poncho lived. See, I told you this spot never stays empty for long! 😛 As for Groucho himself, I’m not a big fan.

Groucho: Huh? How did you get in here?
Poncho gave me an extra key.

After speaking with all of my villagers, only Static and Tank had old wallpaper to give me.

Tank: So, you'll haul this stuff to Saharah for me?Fortunately, I had two extras in storage. So I took them one of them, along with the two from Static and Tank, back to Saharah. She took them and gave me an ancient wall in return. Not only did I need this for my checklist, but it’s been one I had wanted long ago. I even had the ancient tile (floor) to go with it, waiting in storage next to an empty slot. 😛

Now I finally have the matching set. It only took me nine years. 😉

The ancient wall and ancient tile (floor) in Animal Crossing: City Folk for Nintendo Wii.I rode Kapp’n’s bus out to the city, and I saw something else that’s quite rare: Frillard! He was performing at the marquee (theater) for the “thought” emotion, so I made sure to check it out. I don’t think I’ve attended a Frillard show since February 2013.

Frillard: Ready for a thrill? After the show, I chatted with Pudge, who also saw the performance. He called Frillard a living fossil! 😛

Pudge, in the marquee: I've heard that, in the world of comedy, Frillard is, like, a living fossil, pudgy! But then he conceded that Dr. Shrunk is better. As for me, I’m not so sure. They’re both pretty awful.

Pudge: I still think I like Dr. Shrunk better, pudgy.Anyway, this performance is something I needed for a future video. But I still need to find something else that’s pretty rare before I can finish up the video…a UFO sighting.

Tank’s Breath

I received Poncho’s goodbye letter in the mail today. Some animals write letters that are sad, thoughtful, and/or reflective. And then there’s Poncho, who just boasts about how burly he is. He uses the opportunity to call everyone in town scrawny.

'Sup Jeff, This is it, my last day in Forest! Living here made me realize just how burly I really am. Tell everyone thanks for being so scrawny! -PonchoI spoke with Opal, and she said she heard people saying that walking in the rain shows that you’re sensitive. But she quickly shot down that theory, saying walking in the rain just means you’re getting wet.

Opal: They're wrong! I'm just getting wet!I listened in on a conversation between Midge and Tank tonight. Midge said that the air in Forest was so clean and refreshing that she could breathe it all day long. Not that she has a choice. But she told Tank to inhale and exhale so that he could enjoy the air too. So he did…

Tank: Inhale, EXHALE!But as soon as he exhaled, Midge was disgusted by the smell of Tank’s breath! He said he just chugged down a “power blaster,” which apparently tastes like the stuff between his toes? WHAT? WHY.

Tank: But it kinda tastes like the stuff between my toes...Why does he even know what his toe jam tastes like? And why would he drink something that tastes like that? There is just so much wrong with this conversation. Midge was grossed out and mad that Tank was stinking up her air, and I don’t blame her. This is one of the most disgusting things I’ve seen in an Animal Crossing game. I should call him Stank instead of Tank.

After I finished making my rounds, I took a trip out to the city. It was raining there, too. I didn’t find anything interesting going on, so I ended my game soon after.

One Last Bug Hunt

I visited Dotty today, and I noticed two Spaceman Sams in her house. That was even odd, because for a long time, she’s had three astronauts! Where did the other one go? The lunar rover is still here, so he couldn’t have driven away. Did Dotty kill him and then bury him in the sand? Leave your theories in the comments! 😉

Two astronauts (Spaceman Sams) in Dotty's house. When I stopped in to see Poncho, I saw that he was all packed up and ready to move out (like we discussed). Take care, Poncho!

Poncho: Hey... Hold up... Oh, yeah! I just remembered I'm bailing out of this town!
You just remembered? Wouldn’t these boxes clue you in?

At the gate, Booker informed me that Wendell was in town somewhere (even though I hadn’t seen him at that point). But I was in no rush to see the walrus. Now that I have my mystery circle, I don’t need him right now.

Booker: Someone who looked a lot like the famous artist, Wendell, came through here... I think.Since it’s the last day of August, many of the valuable summer bugs will be gone by tomorrow. So I made one last bug-hunting run tonight, and I caught a good variety.

I caught a scorpion! It looks kind of crabby to me...

I caught a scorpion, a tarantula, a golden stag, a rainbow stag, a cyclommatus, a scarab beetle, three goliath beetles, a couple of giant beetles, and several others. I also fished two sharks out of the ocean. Not bad for about 25 minutes of hunting. My catches earned me about 140,000 bells altogether.

Whoa!!
