Mac Moves In

There was a new house in Forest today, and I found Mac the dog inside! I used to enjoy talking to Mac back in Sarah’s town years ago, and now I finally have him in my own town! Welcome to Forest, Mac!

Mac: Right on! Good to meet you. This is my first day living here. They call me Mac.When I visited Alli tonight, I found an unusual furniture arrangement. I’m not sure where all of her furniture went, but this is all she had left.

Alli's furniture all on the left side of her house. This isn’t the first time she’s had a strange setup. Remember five shirts and a stereo? But anyway, she asked me for a fossil. I didn’t have one on me at the time, but I later found one, had it identified at the museum, and returned to Alli’s house. Her jaw dropped as I gave her the pachy torso.

Alli: What?! Let me see that... It's a pachy torso!Tutu was sick with a cold, so I bought some medicine for her. She chugged it down like Polar Pop.

Tutu: ...I drank that medicine and now I'm s-sweating like a beast. As she said, she started sweating like a beast. And let me tell you, a sick, sweating bear does not smell very good. I got out of there as quick as I could. But get well soon, Tutu.

I may be playing the game a bit more frequently than usual in the coming days or weeks, as I record some clips for a future video. So there might be more than the usual one entry per week–depending on how much happens in town on those days.

Ocean Cork

When I started up the game last night, I got Marina’s goodbye letter in the mail.

Marina's goodbye letter.Even though City Folk doesn’t have a Cherry Blossom Festival like the GameCube version of Animal Crossing does, some trees still turn pink and cherry blossom petals fall from the sky this time of year.

Falling cherry blossom petals.Today, I found Pascal standing on my southern bridge. I gave him a scallop and he gave me a helm in return. He also told me that there’s a cork at the bottom of the ocean that keeps all the water from draining out!

Pascal: And the government don't want people to know about it, maaaan!
It’s a cork-spiracy!

Near another bridge, Aurora said that there a lot of empty houses in town. That’s not true at all! The one she was standing by is the only one! Check your facts, penguin.

Aurora: There sure are a lot of empty houses in town, have you noticed? It seems like such a waste!A bit later, I heard a balloon present and shot it down. I was able to snap the picture in mid-pop. The present inside was a coin–the Super Mario coin.

Popping a balloon present.

Marina is Moving

Tonight, Benedict told me that he wanted to be like Tom Nook and open up his own store. But he wasn’t sure what to sell. He suggested maybe garlic bread and cheese.

Benedict: Hmm... Maybe my store could sell box lunches of garlic bread or something, and cheese.
And…chicken perhaps?

My club shirt was starting to get a bit stinky, so I knew I needed to buy some new clothes. Able Sisters had a flame shirt on sale, so I decided to buy it. Interestingly enough, a fireman’s hat was right next to it. Good thing I bought the shirt before the fireman could put it out!

Mabel: That's a flame shirt. Yeah, that item costs just 360 bells.I got a surprise when I went into Marina’s house: She was all packed up and ready to move out of town! I like Marina, so I wish she would have stuck around longer, but that’s how the game works. Especially now that I’m only playing about once a week now, I won’t always get a chance to stop my villagers from moving.

Marina: Well, there's no point in hiding it. You've probably guessed, but I've decided to leave Forest.
I wonder if she’s moving to Inkopolis.

Aurora asked me to catch a red snapper for her, so I headed to the ocean. As I was in the process of catching a fish, I saw Aurora getting mad at Chow in the background (look in the top-right corner of this picture):

Catching a fish.It took me a couple more minutes until I caught a red snapper, and Aurora was over her tantrum by then. Of course, her red-eyed look of surprise is just as frightening!

Aurora: Oh! A red snapper! She was happy to have her very tasty red snapper and she rewarded me by giving me NOTHING a beach chair.
