Excessive Vanity

Last night, Marina lost her house key. So I did a little fishing to try to find it.

Fishing in the river. It took me a few minutes to catch the key, which actually wasn’t too bad. I returned the key to Marina and she thanked me by giving me a pastel-dot rug.

Marina: Oh, fantastic! This is it! This is my house key!Nothing else was going on in town yesterday, so I returned to play it again today. I found Twiggy near the ramp, talking about the Nook point rewards. She said she’s been buying stuff like crazy to get those exclusive prizes.

Twiggy: Lately, I just want those point-related prizes, so I've been buying stuff like crazy. That reminds me that some of my ACCF friends did that, too. Ness/Bushido would go to the store and buy out everything, haha. I would have to remember to check the store before I opened my gate, or else I might not have a chance to buy anything that day. 😛

I visited Broccolo today, and I noticed he has two classic vanities right next to each other. Why?

Broccolo's classic vanity next to his other classic vanity.
Maybe if he stands in the middle, he can see one ear in each mirror.

And back outside, I saw Twiggy across the river. I waved hello to her.

Waving to Twiggy. In case you haven’t heard, Animal Crossing: City Folk recently got re-released as part of the Nintendo Selects line. It has a MSRP of $19.99 in America. Online play is no longer supported of course, but it’s still a fun game. You can check your local stores if you’re interested, or buy it at Amazon.com.

Hide and Stink

Last night, Stinky told me that he’s trained like a pro, for years, to be a world-class…river fishing specialist? I thought for sure he was going to say wrestler.

Stinky: Over the years, I've trained like a pro to be a world-class river-fishing specialist.I visited Tutu, and her house was almost bear bare! She had a few items in the front half of her room, but the back half was completely empty! And I couldn’t have helped her if I tried, because she specifically warned me not to move her furniture around!

Tutu: Eeeek! Like, PLEASE, don't move my furniture around too much!Chow the panda was feeling under the weather, so I bought some medicine for him. Chow down!

Chow flips as he takes medicine. And then today, Alli told me it was time for her to plan a party. The theme of the party would be that we would all talk about what it would be like to own one slipper.

Alli: The party theme is that you'll talk about what it'd be like to own one slipper...
You’re such a party animal.

Stinky asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek. He gave me 15 minutes to find him, Tutu, and Alli. As I began, I was hot on Stinky’s trail; maybe he should have washed his underwear before putting it on his head this morning. I quickly sniffed him out behind Scott’s house.

Stinky hiding behind a house.Just a few moments later, I found Tutu behind town hall. It took me a little longer to find Alli because she was on the other side of town: She was hiding behind Benedict’s house.

Alli: Oh no! How did you know I was here?
I love her jaw-dropping surprised look.

Stinky rewarded me with an oombloid for winning the game of hide-and-seek.

When I visited Broccolo, he was telling me about the Happy Room Academy and how they give high ratings to rooms with matching series. He said that he writes “Broccolo” on all of his furniture to make it part of the Broccolo series. But of course, the HRA told him that doesn’t count.

Broccolo: But they said that didn't count! There's just no pleasing those decorating tyrants, on Tumblr.I took a quick trip up to the city, and I saw one of my favorite animals from the series…and one of my least favorite. You can probably guess which is which.

A Stinky House

I walked into a villager’s house tonight, not even realizing it was a new house that wasn’t there last time. Inside, I found something Stinky.

Stinky: WHOA! You must be one of my new Forest neighbors!
Cats always love cardboard boxes, don’t they?

Stinky is a cat villager that wears underwear on his head. I had him in my GameCube town last year. While he’s not one of my favorite villagers, he certainly is one of the more unique animals. Maybe he will make Forest life more interesting…as long as I remember to hold my breath around him.

Tutu and Chow were having a conversation tonight, and Tutu was crying and saying it hurts!

Tutu: Waaaaaaah! It huuuuurts!Chow asked what was wrong, and Tutu said that a boy just broke her heart. Afterwards, they were both depressed. I was surprised Chow cared that much, to be honest.

A bit later, Marina asked me to make a delivery to Chow (who was now feeling better). The item was a fire hydrant, and Chow couldn’t believe Marina got him such an expensive gift!

Chow: Whoa! Can this be genuine? A fire hyrdrant? I gotta have a talk with Marina about such expensive gifts! When I told Marina I made the delivery, she thanked me and gave me a mochi pestle.

Just a heads-up about this blog: For the past two years or so, I’ve been posting two entries a week. But this game is nearly 7.5 years old now–and even this blog has been running for almost five years. So it’s time to scale back a bit; there will now be just one entry per week (perhaps with an occasional exception).

Anyway, just for fun, here is a look at my Wii menu (in the Wii mode of my Wii U):
