Cousteau Leaps Away

As I started up the game this evening, I noticed that the grass color has changed since I last played. I’ve always liked this shade of green.

The mid/late September grass color.Near town hall, Alfonso was telling me about the Bug-Off coming up on Saturday. He said that he prepares for it by eating lots of sponge cake. That way, he’ll smell so sweet that the bugs just throw themselves into his net. Yeah, good luck with that.

Alfonso: That way, I'll smell so sweet that the bugs will just THROW themselves into my net!Cousteau was all packed up and ready to go on an undersea adventure. Good luck in your new pad.

Cousteau: I don't have a ton of stuff weighing me down, so packing up only took 5 minutes!Poor Broccolo wasn’t feeling well today; apparently he caught a cold.

Broccolo: My head is hotter than a jalapeno, but my hands are icier than frozen yogurt... M-medicine...I went to Nook’s and bought some medicine for him. Get well soon, little guy!

Broccolo flips as he takes his medicine.

Frigid Friga

I visited Friga tonight, and she was telling me about her wonderful life.

Friga: You know, I just watch kickboxing and eat chow mein all by myself...Outside, Cousteau told me he decided to move out of town. I didn’t try to stop him. He actually wasn’t as bad as I thought he would be, but still, I’m not going to force him to stick around.

Cousteau: I've talked it over with myself, and I decided to bail and move out of town.I headed to the Roost to check out some live music. I asked K.K. for a random song and he performed K.K. Love Song for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Love Song. After the show, I saw Kitt by the waterfall. She told me that Friga wanted her to get a pet scorpion! I guess she doesn’t understand that Friga was playing a mean prank on her! Friga has a heart of ice.

Kitt: I was talking to Friga, and we decided it was a great idea for me to get a pet scorpion!Speaking of Friga, Broccolo asked me to make a delivery to her. It was a dirt-clod wall (ha!). When I returned to Broccolo to tell him the delivery was complete, he gave me a chess piece in return. He said nothing screams “Mr. J” like a black pawn. I’m not sure what to think of that statement…

Broccolo: Huh huh huh huh! Nothing screams Mr. J like a black pawn!

Tracking Down the Crooks

Tonight, I found Friga and Fang standing still, facing forward, not moving (at least for a few seconds). I guess they were pretending to be the queen’s guards or something.

Friga and Fang standing guard? When I spoke to Fang, he wanted to play a game where I had to track down criminals!

Fang: Your job as a protector of the people is to track down those crooks and protect the good folks of the town.He was actually just referring to hide-and-seek, although he sure has a wild imagination today! I had ten minutes to find him, Alfonso, and Bunnie. Alfonso was the first animal I tracked down; he was hiding behind a tree.

Alfonso peeking his head out from behind a tree.I later found Fang hiding behind the empty house and Bunnie hiding behind a tree. For winning the game, I got a mini fizzoid from Fang. Why do the prizes always seem to be gyroids?

Fang: Here, have a mini fizzoid. You deserve a little something for that performance.Saharah was in town today, looking for old wallpaper. Kitt was the first villager to help me out. Fortunately, the wallpaper didn’t have any baby heads on it this time.

Kitt: That's fine! You're really welcome to my old one. It's not like I need it for anything! The only other villager to give me wallpaper was Broccolo. He said the old wallpaper makes a tasty ice cream cone. (Something is wrong with that mouse).

Broccolo: So, sure, go ahead and take it. Between you and me, though, it makes a pretty tasty ice-cream cone. Two isn’t enough for a rare wallpaper from Saharah, but fortunately, I had a third one in storage. So I took them all to the camel with long eyelashes.

Saharah: Oh! You bring wallpaper! And how many...3! Mine now!In return, she gave me a garden wall. It’s one that I needed for my catalog, so that’s a good thing. I don’t think I’m going to keep it, though. It’s alright, but nothing special. This is what it looks like:
