Mime to Go

Tonight, I just barely made it to the Roost before K.K. Slider’s concert ended at midnight. I asked him for a random song, and he played K.K. Western for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Western.

Over by the fountain, Queenie tried to convince me that she’s prettier than a field of fireflies…at least during the light of day. 😛

Queenie: I feel so sad...for those who never see me at night! I'm prettier than a field of fireflies!
There is a fountain there. But just like Queenie’s beauty, you can’t see it. 😉

As expected, Marcel is now packed up and ready to move out of Forest. He was surprisingly sad about leaving. Even though he’s certainly not my favorite dog, he is a good puppy. I just wish I could wash that clown makeup off his face. 😛

Marcel: Oh, no, now you've started it... I'm so happy, I can't stop crying! Boo hooty hoo! Snerffle snork!

I shot down a balloon present, and it contained a green pipe. Unfortunately, you can’t use these as warp pipes like you can in New Horizons.

I posted my latest City Folk Moments video yesterday, and it includes highlights from this summer. Check it out if you’re interested. 🙂

Meet River

On Tuesday, I happened to be standing beside Nook ‘n’ Go, and I noticed all the little rain/dampness spots on the roof had different shapes and sizes. So I just took this photo. 😛

Gabi has been sick with a cold, so I gave her some medicine Tuesday, Wednesday, and yesterday.

Gabi: Wow... This tastes like felt-tip marker.
Why do you know what a felt-tip marker tastes like?

On Wednesday, Marcel told me that he plans to move out of town. I did not try to stop him.

Marcel: But if something doesn't happen to change things, it looks like I'll probably be going, non...

I’ve decided to make a new guide (or two), so I ended up making a new female character, named River. That’s right, the formerly empty house by the river is now the River house. 😛 It’s not just the clementine house any more. 😉

Tom Nook: From now on, this is your house, River.

But today, I was surprised to see Wendell waiting for River! He gave River the “mayor’s flag” pattern, which was free DLC sent out via SpotPass WiiConnect24 many years ago. I guess it was still saved on my system somehow. But wow, I had no idea it would still deliver this!

Wendell: ...So glad I found someone good to take Mayor's flag!

I won’t be playing as River very much (at least once I’m done with what I’m working on), but it will also give me additional storage space. I could always store more flowers, candy, or patterns with her. We’ll see.

I switched back to Jeff, and I saw that Gabi was finally over her cold today. She thanked me for the medicine by giving me a bow. (A bow meaning the weapon, like the one that shoots arrows.) 🏹

And Kapp’n had some different dialogue I don’t normally see; he assumed that I live in a drafty tree fort! What the heck, Kapp’n?

Kapp'n: Ye gots to be sure a lass won't run for the hills when she sees that drafty tree fort ye be livin' in!

If you plan on making a new town at any point, or a new character in your town, feel free to check out (and/or bookmark) my new ACCF Face Guide!

Treeless Hiding

Poncho told me he was no good at ocean fishing tonight. I thought he was about to ask me to catch an ocean fish for him, but he didn’t. 🤷

Poncho: I'm no good at ocean fishing. The waves push the fish close, and my hugeness scares them off.

Antonio asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek, and I agreed to give it a try. Nothing was going on anyway. 😛 He gave me 15 minutes to find him, Harry, and Queenie. Antonio didn’t go far; I found him hiding right behind the bulletin board!

Antonio peeks out from behind the bulletin board during a game of hide-and-seek in Animal Crossing: City Folk.
Antonio: Yaaaargh, you got me! Honk!

I later found Harry hiding behind Able Sisters, and Queenie was hiding behind her own house!

Harry: What?! How did you defeat my ninja stealth haze, I'm evil?
Queenie hides behind her own house.

So none of them were hiding behind trees, and only one of them was behind a house. That probably doesn’t happen often. Anyway, Antonio gave me a mega sproid (gyroid) as my prize for winning the game.

I headed down to the Roost to check out K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I asked for a random song, and he performed Go K.K. Rider! for me. I was wearing appropriate headgear for the song. 🏎️😆

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Go K.K. Rider!.

It’s a good song, and I enjoyed the show.

I caught an oak silk moth and an eel tonight, but I’m missing all the summer bugs that are now out of season. Forest feels a bit lonely now.
