Gaston’s Key

Goldie told me she was thinking about moving out of town tonight, and I immediately asked her to stay. Fortunately, she changed her mind on my first attempt.

Goldie: I'm glad you stopped me. When I think I was about to leave without saying a word to my friends!

Tom was enjoying some rich coffee at the Roost, and he said he could taste it all the way down to his toes. Oh, and he called me “brother.” 😛

Tom: And, brother, I can taste this down to my toes, me-YOWZA!

K.K. Slider then performed The K. Funk; that’s the same song he played two weeks ago!

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: The K. Funk.

Gaston told me that he locked himself out of his house and lost the key. I didn’t want to bother fishing out his key, because that can be a tedious task. But when I happened to see a small fish shadow in the river, I decided to see if that was the key. Surprisingly enough, it was!

I caught a key! ...Whose key is this?

If it always only took one attempt (or even 3-4 attempts, like Gullivarrr’s phone in New Horizons), I wouldn’t mind this favor so much. Too bad it’s not always that easy. I took the key back to Gaston, and he thanked me by giving me 600 bells.

Gaston: Aha! That's my key all right, mon chou!

Overdue Stitches

When I checked out Nook ‘n’ Go today, I learned that it was apparently Green Furniture Day. 😛

Nook's three furniture items are two pieces of green furniture and a green plant.

There was a new house in the northeast part of town, and I found a cuddly new neighbor who just moved in! It’s Stitches the teddy bear! 🧸

Stitches: I just stuffed all my junk in boxes, so I'm still getting organized.

I’ve always liked Stitches, but I haven’t seen much of him throughout the series. In fact, I think this is the first time he’s moved into one of my towns! Of course I’ve seen him in other capacities, though: I’ve seen him in the city, I designed a house for him in Happy Home Designer, and I saw him in New Leaf as a camper and as a Desert Island Escape character.

I ran into Gwen out on the dead end, and she wanted me to send out invitations for a party she wanted to host. She wants everyone to speak their mind while listening to doo-wop music. I think I’ll pass on that one.

Gwen: The party theme will be that you must speak your mind...to the melody of doo-wop music!

Pudge was sick with a cold, so I helped him out. He flipped in the air as he flashed me took his medicine.

Pudge flips as he takes his medicine.

At the Roost, Curt was enjoying a cup of hot, angry coffee. 😂 I’ve never tried that blend myself. 😛

Curt: Some nights there's nothing better than draining a big mug of hot, angry coffee in one swig.

Puckerface City

Yesterday, I received Lucky’s goodbye letter in the mail. He’s a good dog, and I was lucky to have him around for the past year.

Dear Jeff, Moving day is finally here, and I keep thinking of the fun times we had. Those memories are what I'll take with me to my new town, not just boxes and stuff. I'll miss you! -Lucky

Goldie was talking about fishing, and how physically demanding it is…because the fish are so heavy. She said she was trying to take inspiration from me, since I’ve caught every type of fish.

Goldie: I'm trying to take some inspiration from you, boss. You've caught every fish there is!

Springtime has (unofficially) arrived in Animal Crossing games, and all the snow has melted. Big Top was excited because it means that it’s time to have a spring veggie party…whatever that means. 😛

Big Top: It's spring, woof woof! And that can only mean one thing! It's time to have a spring veggie party!
I don’t know, it could probably mean more than just that.

I listened in on a conversation between Goldie and Curt tonight. Goldie said that she recently made some chow mein that was really sour. Curt said that it sounded good to him, and he thought it would be funny to see people take a bite and then make a “puckerface.”

Curt: Nobody would suspect a thing until they took a bite, and then POW! Puckerface city! HAHAHA!
Take me down to the Puckerface City,
where the grass is green & the chow mein’s acidy.

Goldie got furious about that for some reason, and said Curt was absolutely awful. I didn’t really understand that reaction. Goldie herself said the food didn’t turn out right. 🤷‍♀️

Queenie was drinking some coffee at the Roost tonight, and she looked awful…as bad as I’ve seen her. She looks depressed or something. And she was disappointed that it was 11 p.m. and she let the day slip away.

Queenie: Wow, is it already 11? I let the day just slip away from me!

I asked K.K. Slider for a song, and he performed The K. Funk for me (and Queenie, I guess, even though she didn’t turn around the see the show).

Queenie sits at the bar during K.K.'s show.

I posted a new video today that takes a look at some of the insulting things that villagers say about special characters. It includes clips from City Folk, Wild World, and the original GameCube game. Check it out if you’re interested!
