Rasher’s Type

Yesterday, Maelle told me that she’s not attracting enough attention lately.

Maelle: Hey, Jeff. I'm not attracting enough attention lately, duckling.

Even though it sounded like she was talking about her “ugly duckling” appearance, she was actually asking me for a new catchphrase. But I didn’t have one to give her, so I told her to stick with the same she’s been using.

I had an even more awkward conversation with Rasher today. He told me that he develops crushes easily, and he has a favorite “type.” Tell me he doesn’t look at least a little bit creepy when he says this:

Rasher: I used to gaze longingly at them as a boy... Now that I'm grown, I think it's time to make one my own.

But it turned out that he was just asking me for modern furniture…in the oddest way possible. I agreed to help out, but the shops didn’t have any modern furniture, and I didn’t have any in storage either. So his furniture “crush” will have to go unfulfilled.

When I ran into Portia, she was talking about moving out of town. However, I told her to stick around longer, and she agreed to stay.

Portia: Oh, I know! I'll just put all thoughts of moving out of my mind, wolfman.

I got my first look at the inside of Maelle’s house today (well, the first look after she unpacked her boxes, I mean). She has lovely furniture and a birdcage in here. But when I turned down her request to find her a yellow bar shirt, she didn’t exactly seem very polite.

Maelle: What, really? OK, see if I care, duckling.

Sorry, but finding one specific shirt is hard to do! Able Sisters was already closed for the night anyway.

And over by town hall, Astrid told me that she felt sorry for people who never get to see her at nighttime…because she’s “prettier than a field of butterflies.”

Astrid: I feel so sad...for those who never see me at night! I'm prettier than a field of fireflies!
You would not believe your eyes…
at how hard I rolled my eyes. 🙄

I know Astrid helped me out by killing Kitty, but I don’t think I can look past her snootiness forever. 😛 I feel like the gratitude I feel towards her is slowly wearing down. But in the meantime, I’ll try to keep giving her the benefit of the doubt. 😛

If you haven’t seen the video I posted a few days, it compares my town of Forest in each of the five main Animal Crossing games. From details like the town fruit and grass shape, to my favorite and worst villagers I’ve had in each game (current and all-time), to things like my proudest accomplishment and remaining goals. Please check it out!

The snow of winter has melted, and green grass has returned at last. It was raining in town tonight, and Goldie was happy because she got to use her favorite umbrella. 😛

Goldie: I'm so happy! Today, I get to walk around sporting my favorite umbrella ever, woof woof!

It must have been green furniture day at Nook ‘n’ Go today. The three furniture items available were a green bed, a tall cactus, and a green table.

At the Roost, Rasher was having some coffee. But he didn’t seem very thrilled to see me…probably because he was on a date with Phyllis! The secret’s out now! 😂

Rasher: Hey, Chill J, I didn't think I'd see you in the cafe at this time of night...

I found a new house in town, and Maelle was inside. I’m not a fan of the ugly duckling.

Maelle: Oh! Well, good evening! I'm surprised that I have visitors to my new house already, duckling.

She’s not an improvement over Monique. Not at all. Where’s an NES Zapper when I need one? 😛

Goldie Raised by Wolves?

I received Monique’s goodbye letter in the mail tonight.

To: Jeff, I wonder where I'll be when you get this letter? Well, I know I won't be in Forest, because I've moved away. Thanks for everything. And take care! -From: Monique

Mere seconds after I stepped away from my mailbox, Bones approached me with a request to play hide-and-seek. It seems like I haven’t played it in a long time (in any AC game), so I agreed to play. I had 15 minutes to find Bones, Rasher, and Puck.

Bones: OK, here are the rules. We'll go hide somewhere in town. But we'll definitely be outside, woof woof.

Two and a half minutes later, I found Bones hiding behind an orange tree. A minute after that, I found Puck, with a considerably worse hiding spot.

Puck tries to hide behind a sign post.

A couple minutes later, I found Rasher trying to hide behind the museum.

Bones gave me a buzzoid for winning the game. I later gave it to Brewster for safekeeping. I want to eventually store one of each gyroid with Brewster, but I think I still have a long way to go.

When I visited Wolfgang, he informed me that Goldie was raised by wolves! Was he one of the wolves that raised her? Is that how he knows?

Wolfgang: Take Goldie, for example. Did you know she was raised by wolves?

I finally got to see the inside of Lucky’s tomb house now that he’s all unpacked, and he has several pieces of Egyptian furniture, as you might expect. But he also had a couple of asteroids, which I found interesting.

Lucky: Hiya, Chill J. I've been looking everywhere for you, rrr-owch!

At the Roost, I checked out K.K.’s Saturday night musical performance. It may still be February, but K.K. was ready to march into March. 😉

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. March.

Goldie asked me to catch a dung beetle for her, so I did just that. In return, she gave me a teacher’s desk.

Goldie: Oh! A dung beetle!
