Plastic Surgery?

Over by town hall, Purrl told me that Puck and Rasher have been fighting lately. She think it’s going to keep escalating, and there’s going to be a food fight before long.

Purrl: I bet there's going to be a food fight before long.

I think Puck will have the advantage, because he’s already wearing a protective helmet. 😉

Bones was sick with a cold, so I bought some medicine at Nook ‘n’ Go for him. Get well soon, doggo!

Bones: HACK HACKITY HWEEEZE! I think I'm losing my voice...

And just outside of his house, Purrl and Gala were having a conversation that started out very nice. Purrl complimented Gala’s outfit, and asked if it was expensive. Gala said it was a hand-me-down…but actually, she was wearing the guard’s uniform (DLC pattern). 😛

Anyway, Gala tried to return the compliment by saying Purrl’s face was looking lovely. But she then asked how much money Purrl spent on plastic surgery. 😮

Gala: How much money did you spend on cosmetic surgery?

As you might imagine, Purrl was furious about the accusation.

I tried going on a bit of a bug hunt, but I didn’t find much other than an emperor butterfly and a couple of oak silk moths. Even though you can find some good bugs in September, it’s hard. Because most of the bugs that spawn are worthless ground bugs, like crickets. The tree bugs don’t show up nearly as often as they did in the peak of summer season.

I rode the bus out to the city, and I saw my recently departed villager Violet there. She said she saw someone in the theater laughing hysterically the other day. She compared it to…watching a volleyball game on a stage filled with lasagna? I’m not sure I know what that even means…

Violet: As if we were watching a total volleyball blowout on a stage slopped with lasagna!

Maybe they were just having noodles of fun.

Tom & Puck Throwback

I received Violet’s goodbye letter in the mail tonight.

To: Jeff, I'm moving out of town. I hope we bump into each other in Forest, so I can say good-bye in person! If not...farewell! From: Violet

Of course other villagers have also used this letter before, and I never really understood it. She said she hopes we bump into each other in Forest, but that’s not really possible in this game. Villagers are already gone by the time we get the goodbye letter.

Tom asked me to make a delivery to Puck, and it almost felt like I was playing in my GameCube town. What a throwback. 🙂 Tom and Puck have both lived in my GameCube town for over a decade.

Tom: Sooo, go on and take this to Puck for me, me-YOWZA!

Gala asked me for a new greeting, and I didn’t want to disappoint her by not helping. So I told her to say “Fry my sausage!” It’s just a general pig thing, and nothing personal. I wouldn’t fry Gala. 😛

Gala: Fry my sausage! Teehee! It has such a happy ring to it, doesn't it, oink oink?

I found Saharah the carpet-trader nearby, standing by that same ramp. Today she was looking for old wallpaper.

Saharah: I came from far away. I wish to trade wallpaper. It is for wallpaper that I came to your town today.

So I began asking my villagers for wallpaper. I couldn’t ask Kitty, though, because she was locked out of her house.

After completing my first trip around town, I still hadn’t run into Puck. But I eventually found him just south of the fountain…standing right next to Tom! So I gave him the delivery from Tom. He told me to thank Tom for him, even though Tom was standing right there. 😛

Puck: Thanks for bringing this, lone bone! And please say thanks to Tom!

But I did thank Tom anyway, and he rewarded me with 532 bells for making the delivery.

As for the wallpaper search, Goldie and Puck each gave me some. But I had none in storage, and I was still one short of a special wallpaper from Saharah.

There was one option left, but it meant helping Kitty. So I went fishing in the river for her key. Thankfully, I found her key on just my 3rd try! When I took it over to her, she thanked me with a lovely wall. And with that quest completed, I was finally able to ask her about old wallpaper. To my surprise, she actually had one for me!

I took the three old wallpapers back to Saharah, and I exchanged them for a (rare) bathhouse wall.

Saharah: Here...a bathhouse wall. Very exotic... Treasure it. It is a very rare thing.

Nine Rainbow Stags

It was raining as I started up the game tonight. But that wasn’t keeping Purrl from being in a good mood. She just wanted to splash around in the puddles. 😛

Purrl: Normally, I think rain is a real downer. But today all I want to do is splash around, woof woof!
She’s a cute cat…she just needs to stop barking. 😛

I checked my bank account at town hall, and my balance was 45,520,000 bells. So yes, I officially met my goal for the summer. 🙂

Violet was all packed up and ready to move out of town. Go, gorilla, go!

Violet: Oh, Chill J... Didn't I tell you? I'm moving away, woof woof.

While I’m on the topic of my least favorite villagers, Kitty was sick with a cold. But I was nice, and I gave her some medicine. Of course, it’s only because I happened to have some in my pockets already, but still it was nice of me. 😛

Kitty: P-p-please. Never felt so... unpretty. Qu-qu-quickly...
You may not have felt it, but you’ve looked it. 😉

Now that it’s September, many of the valuable bugs are out of season. But even though there wasn’t much variety, I was still finding a good number of valuable insects. In particular, I spotted nine rainbow stags (catching eight of them).

I caught a rainbow stag! Someone tell me, already! Where's the rainbow?!

The only other valuable bug I spotted was the goliath beetle, and I caught three of those. I didn’t do much fishing since I didn’t see any shark fins, but I did catch one coelacanth.

A coelacanth?

Even though I only played about 50 minutes, and only 30 of that was spent bug/fish hunting, I still made 130,000 bells on the night.
