July Fireflies?

Last Sunday night, I played just before midnight so that I could see if fireflies would disappear off the screen right as the clock struck twelve (and June turned to July). They didn’t, although the two fireflies that remained on-screen were the last two that I saw.

A rare sight: July fireflies.

Before I ended my game, I checked my bank account balance: 36,100,000 bells. Just like last year, I want to earn a million bells in July, and another million in August. So my goal is to have 38.1 million bells by September 1st.

Tonight, Whitney the white wolf was feeling under the weather. So I managed to get my mitts on some medicine. Maybe it will mitigate her malady and improve her mood.

Crazy Redd had a pear wardrobe for sale, and he claimed it was the first of its kind to ever be offered for sale. I scoffed at his claim, but I appreciated his (probably inadvertent) wordplay by saying that the pear wardrobe was a slice of history.

Redd: That pear wardrobe is the first of its kind to ever be offered for sale! Talk about a slice of history!

At the Roost, K.K. Slider was performing. I asked for a random song, and he played K.K. D & B for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. D & B.

Goldie said that there are a lot of empty houses in town, but that’s not true at all. In fact, the one she was standing by, was the only one!

Goldie: There sure are a lot of empty houses in town, have you noticed, woof? It seems like such a waste!

Once I spoke with everyone, I started my bug-hunting session. Here, I caught an atlas beetle. A few seconds later, I also caught the cyclommatus on the tree next to it.

I caught an atlas beetle! At last, beetle!

I was finding lots of valuable bugs, and I ended up making about 200,000 bells on the night. Good luck with your bug hunts, and I’ll see you next week!

Not Stylish Enough

Roald sent me a letter in the mail, thanking me for the medicine I gave him last week. He sent me a jade econo-chair as my reward.

I saw Ruby in the city tonight, and she talked about Phineas. Well she didn’t mention him by name, but she referred to a “weird guy” that hands out balloons and streamers.

Ruby: Sometimes there's this weird guy here who hands out balloons and streamers and whatever...
Wait… Streamers?

Over by the Forest Museum, I found myself a four-leaf clover. Will I be lucky now?

Check it out! I found a four-leaf clover! Does this mean I'll be really lucky now?

Kitty asked me for a fossil, and I had two that Blathers just identified for me. I gave Kitty a plesio torso, and in return, she gave me a…white golf bag? Ugh. Why do I bother giving my villagers fossils for subpar rewards? I felt boneheaded.

Kitty: Thanks, Boy J. Here's a white golf bag for all your hard work, kitty cat.
I was teed off.

Goldie asked me for a new outfit, so I went to Able Sisters and bought a lotus shirt for her. But when I took it over to Goldie, she refused it! She said it wasn’t stylish enough!

Goldie: I know you went to a lot of trouble, and I appreciate it, but you should take it back.

After a quick stop at Nook ‘n’ Go, Roald asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek. I agreed.

Roald: That's what I'm talking about, Jeff! I knew you were an ultragamer, I'm a jerk!

I had ten minutes to find him, Static, and Midge. It took me just one minute to find Static, who was hiding behind Whitney’s house. Another minute after that, I also found Midge. She was behind a tree, between the ramp and a pond.

Midge: Oh, bummer... And I was so certain that you weren't going to find me here!

Roald took me longer to find…not because his hiding spot was good. In fact, it was the worst of the bunch: He was hiding behind a sign post! It just took me longer because it was all the way on the other side of town.

He gave me a tall sputnoid as my prize for winning the game.

Roald: Hmm, what would be good? Oh, wait, here we are! A tall sputnoid! All for you, I'm a jerk!

I checked the lost-and-found for another shirt to give Goldie, because I sure wasn’t going to buy another one for her. Booker had a blue sweatsuit available, and I took it to Goldie. But once again, Goldie said it wasn’t stylish enough for her. Well, she’s just going to have to stay unstylish, because that’s all the clothes I’m getting for her.

Before ending my game for the night, I shot down a pink balloon present. I found a dart board inside.

I’m working on a new episode of Mario Plays ACCF, and I’m planning on uploading the video to Youtube tomorrow. I hope you’ll check it out, and have a great weekend!

Ghost of Christmas Past

After saving Goldie from moving out, I bought myself a firefighter tee at Able Sisters. It’s not a shirt I normally wear, but I thought I’d try something new. When I went back outside, I spotted a magic lamp on the ground behind the shop.

Over by the museum, I heard a balloon present flying overhead. I whipped out my slingshot and shot it down. It contained a beach table.

Even though I had the magic lamp, I didn’t find Wisp anywhere in town. I think it was too early still, so I returned after 8 p.m. Over by town hall, a mysterious voice called out to me and scared me to death.

?????: Oh, ummmm... Helloooo.

Of course, it was Wisp.

Wisp: Oh, helloooooo again. Um, sorry for calling you back over, but...
Where’s Pac-Man when you need him?

I told him I had his lamp, but he requested that I rub it in the privacy of my attic. So I did. I normally ask him for furniture as my reward, but this time, I decided to ask for a hat. Hats can be fun to wear. To my surprise, he gave me a festive hat (Santa’s hat, in other words).

Wisp: OK! Here you go! It's a festive hat!

But Christmas was six months ago! Why this now? Is he the ghost of Christmas past?

Jeff wears the festive (Santa) hat in ACCF.

I decided not to keep it on. It’s too late (or too early) to be thinking about Christmas.

Roald was still sick with a cold, and this time, I actually bought some medicine for him. Maybe I was just in the Christmas spirit. 😀

Bones sniffed out the barbecue in my pockets; I got it out of the lost and found a few minutes earlier. He offered to trade his “U R here” shirt for it, and I agreed.

Bones: I've always dreamed of having a barbecue for myself!

I sold some fruit and shook some trees before wrapping up my night. I didn’t spot any valuable tree beetles tonight, but I did catch a couple of emperor butterflies and a bee.
