Grass & Pits

On Tuesday, I received Scoot’s goodbye letter in the mail.

'Sup, Jeff, I'm packing up and leaving town today. Thanks for everything. Forest is nice, but I need a town with more 'tude! -Scoot

Of course, the snow of winter has melted and grass is green once again.

The grass is green once again.

And since I didn’t use the ice bricks this winter, I didn’t have to change them back to green. This path pattern from Wendell looks good all year long.

Sterling asked me to buy an old tumbleweed of his, and I agreed to the purchase since it was only 456 bells. He even told me he’d give me the special autographed version! I don’t know how he could autograph a tumbleweed, but oh well.

Sterling: I'll even give you the special autographed version!

After I was done making my rounds, I set up some pitfalls for my video!

Pitfalls laid out in ACCF.

However, things didn’t go quite as I planned. So I had to scrap my plans and try again on Wednesday. And this time, it worked out. 🙂 Instead of my usual pitfall routine of trapping villagers, this time I surrounded myself with pitfalls.

The idea was for me to just stand and wait until one of my villagers pushed me in. Whoever did it became the winner. To see how it went down, see this video. 🙂

I played again today, and Midge asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek. However, I wasn’t really in the mood, so I declined the offer.

Midge: Care to join me for a little session, in my nest?

Scoot Over

Kitty sent my reward (from last week) in the mail, and I got it (a round carpet) today.

When I visited Scoot, I was sad to see his belongings packed up in boxes. He’s moving out of town. 🙁

Scoot: Whoa! Sizzly J?! I was trying to move out in secret, but you must've heard my muscles flexing.

Opal told me that she was spending lots of time looking at her reflection in the river. And while she was doing it, she apparently dropped her house key into the water. Not the smartest thing to do.

Opal: I was spending a lot of time looking at my reflection in the water, and I could have dropped it then.
That’s what you get for not sending me a valentine last week.

I decided to look for her key, just to be nice (even though I didn’t want to waste too much time on it). But amazingly, I found the key on my very first try!

Fishing Opal's key out of the river.
Is this the key to her heart? Nope.

I took it back to her, and she rewarded me by giving me a mega bovoid. Holy cow.

Midge was standing near the museum, talking about Blathers. She said that he works hard all night…… in her nest! 😮

Midge: You know, because of Blathers... He must work so hard all night, in my nest...
Birds of a feather… flock together.

The snow in town will be gone as of Monday morning. I’m looking forward to seeing green grass again. And at some point next week, I’m going to try to record my pitfall video. So keep an eye out for that. 🙂

In the meantime, please enjoy my latest episode of Mario Plays ACCF. 🙂

Valentine’s Day 2019

I found two letters in my mailbox when I started up the game today. One was a letter from Bones, thanking me for the medicine I took him recently; he sent me a space station. The other letter was a valentine from Kitty! Ugh! Why her? She sent a chocolate heart with the valentine.

To: Jeff. Happy Valentine's Day! Please enjoy this little treat, since I think you're pretty neat! -From: Kitty.

I had a chat with Dizzy, and he shared a story he’s planning on using in a comic book someday. He said it’s an epic fantasy that takes place in the Kingdom of Forest. A dude named “Bro J” is in charge of all the goats in the village.

Dizzy: Even though Bro J is just a little dude, he's in charge of all the goats in the whole village.

Ultimately, Bro J saves the village from an evil wizard. Sounds like a good idea for a comic book, Dizzy!

I went down to the Roost to get a special treat that’s only available on Valentine’s Day each year: hot chocolate! Yum!

It's so sweet!

Maple asked me to catch a pale chub for her. I tried fishing for several minutes, but I never caught a pale chub for her.

Kitty (my supposed Valentine) asked me to make a delivery to Static. It was a No. 1 shirt, and Static just thought it was okay. When I returned to Kitty, she couldn’t give me a reward because my pockets were full of fish. She’ll send it in the mail.

I hope you’re all having a happy Valentine’s Day! 💖
