Ghost of Christmas Past

After saving Goldie from moving out, I bought myself a firefighter tee at Able Sisters. It’s not a shirt I normally wear, but I thought I’d try something new. When I went back outside, I spotted a magic lamp on the ground behind the shop.

A magic lamp on the ground behind Able Sisters in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Over by the museum, I heard a balloon present flying overhead. I whipped out my slingshot and shot it down. It contained a beach table.

Pop goes the balloon present in ACCF.

Even though I had the magic lamp, I didn’t find Wisp anywhere in town. I think it was too early still, so I returned after 8 p.m. Over by town hall, a mysterious voice called out to me and scared me to death.

?????: Oh, ummmm... Helloooo.

Of course, it was Wisp.

Wisp: Oh, helloooooo again. Um, sorry for calling you back over, but...
Where’s Pac-Man when you need him?

I told him I had his lamp, but he requested that I rub it in the privacy of my attic. So I did. I normally ask him for furniture as my reward, but this time, I decided to ask for a hat. Hats can be fun to wear. To my surprise, he gave me a festive hat (Santa’s hat, in other words).

Wisp: OK! Here you go! It's a festive hat!

But Christmas was six months ago! Why this now? Is he the ghost of Christmas past?

Jeff wears the festive (Santa) hat in ACCF.

I decided not to keep it on. It’s too late (or too early) to be thinking about Christmas.

Roald was still sick with a cold, and this time, I actually bought some medicine for him. Maybe I was just in the Christmas spirit. 😀

Roald flips as he takes his medicine in City Folk.

Bones sniffed out the barbecue in my pockets; I got it out of the lost and found a few minutes earlier. He offered to trade his “U R here” shirt for it, and I agreed.

Bones: I've always dreamed of having a barbecue for myself!

I sold some fruit and shook some trees before wrapping up my night. I didn’t spot any valuable tree beetles tonight, but I did catch a couple of emperor butterflies and a bee.

Noodly Vibe

Bones had a very important question for me tonight. He wanted to know if I just ate noodles.

Bones: Um, I have something super important to ask you... J-bot, did you just eat some noodles?

I told him no, and he was surprised. He said it’s because I was giving off a “noodly vibe.”

When I visited Static, he was sneezing on me! But he wasn’t even sick.

Static: Ah... Ahh... Ahhh... Ahhh... ACHOOO! ...Bah! Stupid sneeze!

Puck was standing near the bus stop, and he was talking about Static and Limberg. He said they seem so tight that they were even wearing matching outfits the other day! I don’t believe that for a second. But Puck just wanted to have a sidekick to wear matching outfits with.

Puck: I wish I had a sidekick to wear matching outfits with. Even if I was the sidekick, that'd be OK, too!
Well, there’s always Roald if you’re desperate.

Speaking of Roald, he was sick with a cold tonight. However, I didn’t have any medicine for him…and I was too lazy to go buy him some.

In the Roost, I checked out K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I asked for a random song, and he played K.K. Soul for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Soul.

Goldie asked me to deliver a gift to Limberg, and I agreed to help. But only because I like Goldie. Limberg tried to guess what was inside the package, but his guesses were a bit unrealistic.

Limberg: Oh! So it's from Goldie? Whaddaya suppose is inside? Gold? Diamonds? My stubble?
Doubt it. Doubt it. I really hope not.

There was actually a kiddie bureau inside. Limberg said he was going to talk with Goldie about sending such expensive gifts…and yet he was hoping for gold or diamonds? 🤷

When I returned to Goldie, she thanked me and gave me a dirt-clod wall for helping out. Um, thanks? Well, at least she didn’t reward me with stubble, I suppose.

Whitney Coming to Town

When I played City Folk last night, I found a new house on my path! This is in a different spot from where Opal lived, but I just replaced one house on a path with another. I haven’t decided if I’ll re-route the path or just leave it as-is.

A house that landed on my path in ACCF.

Inside, I found Whitney the wolf. I’m glad to see her; she is one of my favorite wolves in the series.

Whitney: I get ALL my news from the Internet.
World Wide Whitney

Today, I started up the game and ran into Limberg. He was bored, so he wanted to plant some ugly rumors about Whitney. Wow, she just got here, and Limberg is already starting with her. Whitney wasn’t standing far away either, so she may have heard what he said. Don’t worry, Whitney, I’ll try to get rid of Limberg soon, if I can.

Limberg: I wonder if now's the time to plant some ugly rumors about Whitney and watch the fun?

I sold some fruit, and I earned enough money to kick my bank account balance up to 36 million bells.

Your current balance is 36,000,000 bells.

Unfortunately, I didn’t find any fossils around town, so they must be well-hidden. I’ll have to sniff them out somehow.

At the Happy Room Academy in the city, I checked out the model room. This month’s theme was “cute rooms,” and Roald had the cutest room.

Roald's room, with an elephant slide, train set, space shuttle, kiddie clock, super toilet, and more.

I just posted a new video, taking a look at seven online features of ACCF that didn’t return in New Leaf. Here is the video:

It’s a similar concept to this one from last year… But this one focused on offline features that can still be used and enjoyed even without online support from Nintendo.
