NEW LEAF BLOG

Disney Magical World Blog

Nintendo has provided me with an advance copy of Disney Magical World, which is now available for Nintendo 3DS. It has some gameplay similarities to Animal Crossing, while also featuring over 60 Disney characters. I'll be writing about the game and providing regular updates as I progress through the game. Want to start from the beginning?

Note: Disney Magical World 2 is now available! Check out Jeff's DMW2 Blog!

Day 42: The End

One day in March, McDuck's finally had the Aurora spring hat on sale. It was the last of the regular items that I needed! So finally I was able to retire from daily (or twice daily) shopping! Don't get me wrong, Disney Magical World is a very good game. But after a year of daily grinding to complete my collection, it feels good to be done. Well, almost done...

At last!
On March 19th, which just happened to be my one-year anniversary with the game, I received the final trading card I needed from the chamberlain. It was Daisy Duck 10.

Is that a wedding dress?

After that, the king had an exclamation point above his head. So naturally, I spoke with him to see what was up. He seemed surprised that I've now collected all of the trading cards.

Why would you doubt me?
He congratulated me and told me that the trading cards are said to be crystals...crystals of the heart. They're made of the memories I've made with my friends, he told me. He's clearly senile. He even told me to continue favoring him with my infectious smile?

I'm not infectious any more, I've been vaccinated!
He then gave me the card collector's crown.

I am the new king of blueness!
From what I can tell, I now have every individual item in the entire collection. There are still a few color variations I don't have, but I'm not going to worry with that.

As April began, I checked with Castleton Air Travel to see if there was a new DLC item. However, there was nothing new listed. This appears to be the end of the road. With no new DLC and nothing else to accomplish in the game, this will likely be my last blog entry. Feel free to browse through the previous blog entries, which will be linked below (and in the sidebar if viewing on a desktop). Holidays repeat each year of course, so those blog entries will relevant each time they roll around.

If you don't have Disney Magical World, it's not too late to buy it at Amazon.com.

And if you've enjoyed reading this blog, please check out my other blogs for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Tomodachi Life, and Animal Crossing: City Folk. I also have a Gaming Blog, where I discuss any other games I've been playing. And if Disney Magical World ever gets a sequel, I'll be sure to start a new blog for that!

Thank you all for reading the blog, and I hope you'll continue visiting JVGS.

Day 41: Spring Arrives

It's now March, and spring has arrived in Castleton! The snow, ice, and winter decorations are all gone.

Green at last!
Also, spring fashions are now available at McDuck's.

These might not look very good on me.
March brings another new DLC item, the Casual Donald T-shirt. It's a free download, so be sure to pick yours up!

It's light blue with an anchor on the front.
Donald's face is plastered across the back of the shirt.

On the back? What's the big idea?
My card collection is slowly growing. I have 298 of the 300 cards now, and I'm hoping to complete the collection by next month.

Day 40: Valentine's Day

I recently acquired the ice chair, and that completed my ice furniture set. Here's a look at it.

Bring your own cushion, or you may get stuck to the chair.
Even better, that chair completed my entire furniture collection in the game (excluding paid DLC)--at least of what's listed on the collection screen. I'm still missing a number of clothing items, though.

February is here, and the snowman decorations for winter have been replaced with some lovely decorations for Valentine's Day.

Don't pop those balloons or you'll end up with a broken heart.
There's also a new DLC item for this month, the casual Stitch T-shirt.

Winter makes Hawaii seem so far away. That, and the ocean.
And my card collection is slowly coming along. I now have 295 of the 300 trading cards in the game.

How much is a Jack worth?
Update: In the days leading up to Valentine's Day, you may find these Valentine's balloons on sale in McDuck's. I guess my furniture collection wasn't complete after all! Apparently some things don't show up in your collection list for some reason.

Three balloons? I expected less than three.
Note: Once Valentine's Day is over, the Valentine decorations in Castleton are removed and the winter decorations are put back up.
